Hi Maja Fans! Ivana here today with a new card that is very different than most of my previous cards here. For this card, I went back to my roots, and decided to design something reminiscent of how I used to paper craft – with lots of layers, lacey bits, and colorful elements. I hope you like!

For the theme of the card, I wanted to do something summery, and I can’t think of anything more exciting than summer travel, so I decided to make a little pair to celebrate a start of a new journey and beautiful new adventures.

I started with a base of Maja Design paper in a lovely green shade (Vintage Spring Basics – 10th of March), followed by a soft yellow paper (Vintage Spring Basics – 3rd of March), both cut out by hand, using a traced shape from some of my favorite templates.

Over the two top layers, I added letter stickers (which have been sitting in a drawer in my room for so long that I no longer even remember what company they are from!), as well as bits of trim, a paper banner, a really big, vintage blue button and a tiny little scalloped circle, which is stamped with a pretty sentiment. I slightly curled the “smile” stamp to follow the curve of the little doily circle.

For the focal point of the card, I stamped the “see you soon” bit using purple ink, along with another curved sentiment using dark green ink. I cut and layered the two pieces together, and adhered them onto a scalloped circle die-cut, and assembled a collection of pretty little buttons around the pieces.

Before adding the focal piece to the card, I adhered several more layers of paper, including a darker purple paper from Maja Design (Vintage Spring Basics collection – 10th of April), as well as two layers of the ever so pretty lace borders cut using a die.

And although not a Maja paper covered project, this next little bit is a matching envelope that I stamped to match the card.

I used a die to create the little envelope, and stamped the little arrow border in a diagonal stripes, in various colors to create the pattern. I stamped one line with a juicy stamp, and the next line using the stamp-off method. This creates some lines that are more vivid, while others are slightly faded. I kind of like the look, although I believe I need to work on it a bit more to perfect it just a tad.

Supplies: Maja Design Paper (Vintage Spring Basics – 10th of March, Vintage Spring Basics – 3rd of March, Vintage Spring Basics collection – 10th of April), Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream cardstock, Papertrey Ink Dye Ink (Ripe Avocado, Winter Wisteria, Smokey Shadow), Precious Remembrance Stamps, The Craft’s Meow Stamps, Papertrey Ink Limitless Layers circle dies, Papertrey Ink Filigree Border, Aqua Mist felt, collection of Papertrey Ink and my handmade buttons, Liquid Pearls.

In other news, a package just arrived at my door with the beautiful new Sofiero collection, and I cannot wait to be back here again to share what I have made!

Until then!
