Good morning everyone. It’s Nadia here with you today.
Today I used the beautiful Ska Vi Ta En Fika collection to create a set of cards in a bit of a neutral tone just for a bit of a break from all the colour I have been experimenting with lately.
I picked the darkest colour of the collection, which is almost a dark purple but appears even close to a grey in real life too. The dark base paper of my first card is the “Våffla m björnbärssylt” paper while the lighter heart paper of my second card is the “Plommonkaka” paper.
To start with I applied CLEAR gesso on both my cards because I wanted a non porous surface that still showed the background paper clearly.
Now I will show you some close ups of both the cards as I applied the same techniques to both…
I applied THICK white gesso down the center of both the cards in a T design. Once that dried up, I applied a few strips of contrasting paper in a + design together with some tissue paper.
I then stamped a number stamp on the background and I also stamped a circle stamp which I coloured in with Gelatos and Faber Castell Big Brush pens.
Then, as you can see in the image above, I layers some chipboard, mesh tape and die cuts on top of that.
I then added some Manor House Creations flowers on top and softened their look a bit by applying some silver ink on top of the black ones.
Lastly, I applied a a silver mist and a silver ink directly on the background to create some colour.
