Cathy - Merry and Bright

Hello everyone! Today I have another Christmas card to share with you. I really am committed to my self imposed target of creating enough Christmas cards for my family and friends. Two down and ….to go! (not sure how many but it always increases each year I am sure!) I am really loving the A Gift For You Collection from Maja Design. The rich tones remind me so much of Christmas!

Over the years, I have collected a number of stamps and I love have the opportunity to use them. This stamp set from Stampin;’ Up! is a favourite of mine. I love the feeling it evokes…the excitement of decorating the Christmas tree.

I have used Petaloo flowers and clusters here. They coordinate beautifully with the rich tones of the Maja papers. I have also added some foliage using a Sullivans and Martha Stewart branch punch.

To complete my card I have added other vintage elements such as lace, seam binding and a vintage button…things from my stash.

Hi! I'm Cathy. I live in Sydney and am a Primary School teacher. I am passionate about teaching and love what I do. At present paper crafts are my creative outlet, which is my other passion. I am drawn to vintage, shabby chic styled crafts which I love to create. I do enjoy other crafts such as sewing, quilting, knitting and crotchet…not enough time! I am always inspired to learn and to try new techniques in both teaching and my crafts. I love Maja Design papers and enjoy creating with them.

An Autumn Story

Hello Maja fans!

Today I’m up on the blog with another layout I created using the Enjoying Outdoors collection. This time, I focused on the rich greens and browns of the papers and used it for a trip we took in the forest during autumn.

IMG_0282

We were on a broad walk in the middle of an age-old forest of karri trees and there was a little lookout by the side. Being boys, my two sons ran up the lookout and were surprised to find a little star badge on one of the wooden beams. They went on to make up their own story about how it got there and a new adventure was created. I love it that they are so creative and curious in their own ways about the world around them, and that there is always a story (pretend or not) to everything they see.

Some close-ups:

My paper layers, which I made into a vertical line to imitate the towering trees in the Valley of the Giants, a very ancient karri tree forest. By alternating the different shades of brown and green, and with the patterns in the info strip, I was able to add a lot of contrast and details. My chipboard was embossed in brown, and I painted green glitter paint over.

Adding more details with the die cut leaves and words from the info strip.

A simple background of stenciling words and sprinkling of paints. My chipboard frame was painted with watercolors and I also had lace and hessian tucked into the paper layers.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for dropping by!

Good morning Maja friends!

Have you started with your Christmas cards yet? I have! Time flies, and Christmas always comes to fast, so I always start making Christmas cards in October.

IMG_1805

This week I have made a Christmas card in untraditional colours. I have used papers from both the new “Enjoying outdoors” collction and the “Vintage Summer Basics” collction.

The image of the angel I have found on the internet, and I have decorated the card with a doily, pearls, cheese cloth, lace and alpha stickers together with the lovely Maja papers.

I wish you all a creative Wednesday! Take care!

Hello dear friends! Its Evgenia Petzer with you today. I really love to incorporate fabric in my scrapping creations and to create detailed, feminine projects. This time I decided to make a fabric cover CD case for any romantic photoshoot. I decided to go with Summer Crush collection.

lots of details: lace back side

all the chipboard I have used is from Dusty Atticthat’s how it looks inside (of course Maja papers in)

I have used the Summer Crush collection for this CD holder:
