Hello Maja Friends, Elena is here.

I like doing baby projects. No paints, no flowers – I am joking. Sometimes I like to enjoy only papercrafting. It makes me feel relaxed and concentrate on atrue and initial kind of scrapbooking, I guess.

So today I am sharing an album I made for a baby, for the first `12 months. and I used absolutely not a baby collection, but one of my all time favorite – Life by the Sea.

It seems that I say this every time, no matter what collection I use, but it is true,

BabyNauticalAlbum_2

I made a lot of die cutting using almost the same dies for the whole album. But anyway, it has been an issue for me how to make an album without flowers, no I know – dies are the question.

So I made a lot of die cutting using the papers from the collection, and trying to keep nautical blue-white brown color combo.

So many photos are coming in this post as well as the video clip if you would like to skip them and turn the pages with me.

BabyNauticalAlbum_3

I like doing the flaps as well as creating the tags.

BabyNauticalAlbum_5

Each page is supposed to feature one month for a baby.

I also used some of the negatives left after die cutting I suppose it’s a great way to save on and use all of your paper scraps as well.

I also made a fabric cover and sew some paper pieces on the top of it.

bag 3

Hello Maja fans, welcome to the blog. Today I have a rather cute little handbag that I made to show you. It is actually a gift bag. Isn’t is just so sweet?  I made it using the “1903” from the “Vintage Summer Basics” collection for the base of the bag & then trimmed it using “7th of April” from the “Vintage Spring Basics” collections.

I have also made a VIDEO TUTORIAL to go with it.

TO VIEW VIDEO CLICK HERE….

Bag 1

I created a handmade flower & this delightful little bow using the “7th of April – Vintage Spring Basics”. This delightful stripe paper is actually the reverse side of the spotty “7th of April” paper.

bag 4

When I made the little paper flower I also cut some tuille netting with my die cut machine to layer in between the paper petals & finished it off with a few pearl stamens. I think this adds a little pizaz to my handmade flower.

bag 5

This photo shows how it looks when open. Just a perfect size for a small gift & so very novel too. Lastly I finished  it off with a small four inch square doiley I cut out of some white cardstock. You could also write a greeting on this doiley as well.

Well thats all from me today, I do hope you take the time to watch my video on how I created this over on the Maja Design You Tube channel. It really is a very easy project that only takes about ten minutes to make.

Until next time.Di's Signature

Vintage Romance Exploding Box

Hello, Maja Fans and welcome to the blog today 🙂

Have you already got your Vintage Romance collection? I must say I fell for it the moment I opened my DT box – the papers truly work their name, so delicate and romantic with the beautiful vintage touch! And as with all Maja Design collections, the set is universal enough to use for any kind of project. I, for instance, began cutting the papers to decorate a First Communion exploding box 🙂

mdromb

I decorated the outside sides of the box with classic stripes as the background for delicate rose pattern and intricate ornaments on the sides of the lid. The top is decorated with flowers, ribbon and string bows:

mdromb1

I decorated the inside walls of the box with the Passion paper. Its delicate and elegant pink design is perfect for girly and feminie style. On one of the sides I added an ornate chipboard cross and a stamped girl image that I coloured with Distress inks.

mdromb2

Another wall contains a pocket for some small gift or money. I took advantage of the pattern at the bottom of the When I Saw You paper to add some more elegance to the pocket:

mdromb3

I placed a beautiful 3D chipboard chalice with the Host in the middle of the box and mounted it on a small pedestal that I decorated with the striped paper and on the sides – with the extra mini design from the back of the signature strip you can find with every paper 🙂 For the bottom of the box I chose the same rose paper as for the outside walls, only I took a sheet from the small paper pad to make the design better visible:

mdromb4

I love how it turned out, so delicate and elegant!

And here’s the list of papers I used:

I also used: dies: Cheery Lynn Design, Spellbinders; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps: Lemonade, Whiff of Joy; chipboard: Scrapiniec, Anemone.

Thank you for visiting today and see you later!
