Welcome, dear Maja Fans, to the blog today 🙂

The summer break in Poland is coming to an end, tomorrow a new school year begins…and so to keep up the good spirits I thought of making some cards using the butterfly motif, as butterflies always seem so optimistic to me 🙂 They are the kind of easy, simple cards you can whip up in a couple of minutes (of course, they took me MUCH longer but then I am an extremely slow scrapper 😉 ):

For this card I chose very light background papers so that the gorgeous intricate die cut butterfly is well visible:

As I die cut the butterfly from flowery patterned papers, I cut it twice and layered so that it pops out from the background even better. Then I added crystals on the wings and body and some liquid pearls around it for more lightness:

The other card is more vivid in colours as it has my most favourite roses paper for the background 🙂

I repeated the flowers in the dimensional form around the chipboard window with the butterfly button. As a finishing touch I added some splashes in golden glitter ink:

Here’s the list of supplies:

Other: dies: Sizzix, Rosy Owl; chipboard: Scrapiniec, Wycinanka; button: Lemoncraft; glitter ink: 13@rts; crystals, flowers, string: my stash

And what’s your foavourite motif to cheer you up?

Hi everyone. Sadly this is my last post for Maja Design.
I’m pregnant with baby #2 and my mind and body aren’t cooperating the way that I would like, so I’m taking a break from some of my scrapbooking commitments to try to get a little more rest.
For my last layout I have used the Nyhavn Collection to create a vintage style layout.

I used three papers from the Nyhavn collection to layer together and create my background. These papers were, The Sunny Side, A Dockside in Bloom & Kings Square.

I added white texture paste through a floral and diamond stencils.

I coloured my chipboard with Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke to match the colour of the King’s Square paper. Then I embellished with yellow, peach and grey flowers to compliment the papers.

Hi Maja fans..!

Today I have some news to share to you all. Exciting, huh..? 🙂

We actually have a new artist in the team.
Let me present – Mary Catt, from Greece.
The most of you probably recognize her from before, as she has done a couple of guest spots for us earlier. And now she’s with us full time, isn’t that just awesome? ♥

Mary-Catt

We let her introduce herself;

Hello there!

My name is Mary and I live in Greece with my husband and our three children. I met scrapbooking two years ago and since then I became an obsessed scraper.

I love creating layouts but I also design tags, cards, mini albums, canvases and altered items as well. I like to test my creative ability and always try to improve my skills.

My style is mixed media, with a little vintage and some shabby chic touches. I find lots of my inspiration in everyday life and when I scrap I feel so happy that I totally forget everything around me.

I’m so honored to be on some wonderful design teams and being a member on Maja Design team is like a dream to me!

If you want you can see more of my work here:

A huge, warm welcome to Mary..! ♥ We are so excited to see your art on the Maja blog.
You’ll see her first blogpost on Sunday the 4th of September.

So.. This also means that someone is leaving. Unfortunately Bec must step down from her place on the team.

Bec-Genet

During the year we have been amazed by her wonderful work and her devotion.
This is some of her masterpieces:

Thanks, from the bottom of our hearts, for all you’ve done, Bec..! Hope to see you soon. ♥

This was all for today.
Take care out there.

Hello Everyone <3

Today I made a little special project that you can give to someone you whant to do something specal for.
What I ‘ve done is I’ve decorated Love Hearts on a little creative way, as a small special gift <3

The sheets I’ve used, I have taken from  The Vintage Spring Basic

The three paper sheets I have used is:
1st of May, 2nd of May og 5th of May

It all began with a pack of Love Hearts, so I decided to buy two more. When I had bought the candies, I decided to choose the paper to my project.

I measured them and used a punch from Martha Stewart to make a little special edge. I inked the paper with Ground Espresso, from the Distress Ink series.

To keep the pattern sheets in place, I have used white wax tread around and attachead it with a white button with a bow. I have spent 3 buttons on eatch of them.

In each roll you will find a package of Love Hearts <3

To keep all of the rollers in place, I used the same pattern sheets around the Love Hearts.

At the edges I have used the same punch that I’ve used on the rollers, that will be located inside of the small containers. Here I have iked the edges.

The flowers I have used are from Papirdesign and Wild Orchids.
Under the flowers I have used a cheese cloth and one small metal sign from Prima with the word LOVE on.

When the Love Hearts is inside the small container, you see that some of the buttons with the bow appears on each side, and how the colors are consistent relative to the flowers.

Then You got a little gift idea you can make to someone You love <3

Hello dear friends! Its Evgenia Petzer with you today.

Yes, you read it write- some winter cards in the end of summer…

Sometimes it just itches for me to start creating something certain, this time I just needed to create some christmas cards. And The Vintage Winter is one of the oldest, but still my favourite winter Maja collections. So I pulled the paper pad from this collection and made two these cards just for fun.
