Hello and a very warm welcome to you. Thank you for joining me here today. I have my second Design Team layout for the month today and yet again I am using the gorgeously stunning Summertime collection. I am not usually into red but this has really got me working on it. I have simply titled this “Sunshine”, well because I live in a very warm climate, sunshine is what we see the most of and the day I took this photo of my littlelist it was exactly that …..Sunshine.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 069 (800x795)

This layout was very labor intensive for me. I had laid it all out and then of course changed my mind part way through and changed it all back around again. I have used Dusty Attic’s February Moodboard as inspiration for the starting point of my layout, that being the sketch in a sense.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 054 (800x611)

I kept my layout very clean without using too many mediums this time around. I have used Summertime’s “Light Scarlet” and “Is always the best, bs” alternately as background pieces. I hand cut a border into “Is always the best” and distressed a lot of the sections that I wanted the “Light Scarlet” to show through. I have also used only one sheet of the “Light Scarlet” but gutting the centre section and cutting banners from the middle section for the inserts of my Die Cut cards.

Summertime-P

“Smell the Roses” would have to be my favourite piece from this collection along with the Garden Diecuts and the Polka Dots, oh heck the whole lot really is a favourite with me. I truly could keep using this collection over and over again.

2017-02-28 Sunshine 038 (600x800)

As you can see above, I have used the strip from the base of “Light Scarlet” and a banner running through the middle of my layout. They are really gorgeous the strips………I never ever throw mine away. Always perfect for a title or just a little subheading tucked in a flower cluster.

And speaking of flowers, well I have used some……well a lot, along with some gorgeous velvet leaves from Green Tara and some miscellaneous rose buds on long stems which I just adore. I embellished the remainder of my layout using Dusty Attic chipboards. They were dressed in Liquid Pearls and gesso. I have also scattered in some seed beads for good measure and a little cheesecloth to soften the layout a little further. Well that is it from me today. I so hope I have inspired you in some way to get out those summer photos and scrap the special memories behind them. Until next time take care and happy scrapping. Tina-sign

Dear Maja fans,

It’s time for a new collection, and this time we have decided to reprint an old favorite – Sofiero. This time with a completely new die cut sheet. In addition to this we have also released a completely new thing for Maja – Monochromes, coordinated single colored paper, this time perfectly matched to Sofiero’s colors.

Sofiero-L Mono-Sofiero-L

Our monochrome papers are printed single color papers with one shade on each side, one lighter and one darker. They have a white core which makes them exquisite to emboss, sand or tear for great effect on any craft project. They come in the same thick quality as all MajaDesign papers.

This collection is in the size 12×12 and consist of twelve different shades (two on each sheet), all a perfect match for the Sofiero collection.

Hi Everyone, Its Keren Here with a new layout for the Maja Design Blog using one of my all time favourite collections Vintage Summer Basics.

IMG_3313 copy

I love going to the beach and as a family that’s our favourite place to go on vacation. This picture of my kids running on the sand was taken during our last vacation in Mexico. I wanted to create movement on my layout and so I stencilled across the page using white gesso.  Then I sprayed with Prima’s blue Color Bloom sprays summer sky and glistening waves, to mimic the colour of the ocean.

I mounted the photo on small pieces of Maja Design papers and then framed the photo in a Blue Fern Studios chipboard frame which was lightly daubed in white gesso. Then I glued lots of sequence and textured stones around the  frame to add lots of texture to the background and make it look like an ocean. Sequins are from “Dress my Craft” and the art stones are Prima Finnabair.

Here you can se the texture and the Vintage Summer basics papers underneath the photo.

I used to doodle on my notebooks and on anything I could get my hands on. Fourteen years ago I discovered scrapbooking and fell in love with it. One of the main reasons I started scrapbooking was to preserve memories and photos for my children. Scrapbooking opened a creative door to something that I had longtime forgotten I'd loved. Hello dear friends, Evgenia Petzer here with you today and I wanted to share with you two beautiful envelopes in which you can gift either money or a gift card. Our-days these type or presents seem to be more appropriate in some occasions. But its always nice to present something beautifully.

I have some special feelings for Ska vi ta en Fika collection, I just love those purple/lavender shades and can play with it for long time.konv1_fika_majadesign_petzerkonv2and some close ups:konv_det1 konv_det2 lots of different flowers, laces and pearlskonv_det3The envelopes are “closed” with this die cut lacekonv_det4Once again, I have used Ska vi ta en Fika:
