Goodmorning lovely Maja Fans,

Oh was I happy to get my design team package last week the new collection is such a pretty one, that I totally am in LOVE with it. Tomorrow I will be teaching some small classes at a retreat called “Kreadoe” which is much like CHA but a little smaller as it is in The Netherlands. I will be at a stand called De Hobby Boerderij were I will be using a bunch of Maja Design papers so if you will be visiting this retreat please come by to say hello 😉 Today I will be showing you a 12 by 12 layout using this wonderful new collection hope you like it.

maja1000 I did some handstitching on my layout…a while ago I never thought I could make a layout without stitching but now I it’s rare if I do. So I guess things aways chance in scrapbooking. The chipboard pieces are treated with snoweffects the same as I did with the pretty flowers I used on this layout. I fell in love with this sweet picture I got from pinterest that I had to use it.

I really enjoy making wintery layouts although I dislike Winter more than the other seasons.  The centers of the flowers are made with mini prills and little wooden balls (only the larger ones) some of the leaves in the flowers clusters are from a die by sizzix which I adore.

Layout

Hello my dear friends!!!

It’s Mary here with you today and I have a new layout to share with you.

As you may already know, I love finding my photos on Pinterest and this time, while I was searching I found that beautiful photo. So, I choose paper from the ”I Wish” collection and combined it with some beautiful flowers and a few metal embellishments. But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

Closer 1

For my background, I used the ”I Wish For Peace and Joy” paper. First, I gave my background a coat of clear gesso. When it was dried I added some texture with modeling paste and a stencil. I continued by coloring my page with Lindy’s sprays ”Danny Zuko’s Denim”, ”Green with Envy Green” and ”Grab a Guy Gold”.

Closer 2

I heat embossed all the chipboards with the ”Orbit Olive Gold” Lindy’s embossing powder. As usual all the chipboards I used are 2crafty.

Closer 4

When everything was glued down, I added some copper micro beads and made some splatters with white acrylic artists ink.

That’s all for today, my friends!

Thank you for stopping by!

Hi sweeties!

Today I have some wonderful news for you. We have a new team member in our Creative Team..! ♄
Let me proudly present – Kerstin-Inga Peters from Germany.

Kerstin-Inga-Peters

You might recognize her from her previous guest spot here on the blog, or from her participating in the mood board challenges – where she inspired us so much with these gorgeous pieces;

This is her own presentation of herself;

“My name is Kerstin -Inga Peters and I come from Germany.
I have been creating for many years now, always in search of new techniques and yet unexplored territory.
I’m a modern girl with a big vintage heart with a view to the small things, details and a big faible for 3D projects or elements.
I leave my comfort zone with passion, with all what I find interesting and exciting. You can find on my blog a lot of projects, from Altered Art for Home decoration till beautiful memories on layouts with our Sunshine Sheltie.
With Scrapbooking and Mixed Media Art I have found ‘my’ perfect favourite genres
– as it combines words and pictures, thoughts and feelings, and the application of various innovative techniques and the idea of telling stories.
My creations are always a little bit magical, romantic, sometimes funny, but always made with heart and mind. I’m in love with  the delicate shades of colours and motifs on the Maja papers, they are always perfectly harmonised and very suitable for a lot of project ideas.
I love to try out, products and ideas, share inspirations, photos and DIY – Tips for products, a perfect opportunity, because it’s always an adventure, a discovery tour, which I like to take my friends and all the other crafty people with me.
I’m looking forward to create with this wonderful papers and feel very honored to be a part of this amazing design team.”

A huge, warm welcome to you, Kerstin..! It will be a true pleasure having you on the team and to enjoy your fabulous creations..!
Don’t miss her first Maja blogpost on Saturday, November 11th. ♄

Cards for someone who is like a King

Hello Maja Friends,

Today I’ve got a few cards to share with you that I made using Walking in the Forest collection

Handmade_Card_King_by_Elena_Olinevich5

I started making the cards and thought that I would make something floral with bright colors, but then I saw the worn jeans and plaid patterns and changed my mind. I decided to try something for the male

I found some dies in my stash – the royal crowns and the key holes and realized that they would be a perfect match for my cards

Handmade_Card_King_by_Elena_Olinevich1

But I didn’t want my cards to be too serious , so I added the mustache chipboard

Handmade_Card_King_by_Elena_Olinevich3

and even placed some of them on each other.

My finish step was to add the jewels on the crown. I like how they turned on  in fact.
