Hello Sweet Maja fans.

When summer is at it’s end I always get Christmas jitters.

Although every season and holiday has it’s own charm, I really love Christmas.

Me and my kids love to snuggle up with a warm blanket on the couch, and watch every Christmas-movie we can find.

With Christmas jitters comes Christmas crafting.  So today I bring you this Christmas tag made with leftovers from the Vintage Frost Basic Collection.

I hate throwing away designpapers I love , so i safe them for smaller projects like this.

For the bottom of the base tag I used the  Martha Stewart  doily punch. one of my all time favorite edgepunches.

On top of that I laid a die cut made with Romantic Rectangles nestabilities  by Spellbinders.

Than I started stacking papers till I like it and stick them together with foamtape.

I always keep some space between the edges of my papers so I can tuck some embellishments or or small papers between the layers.

To finish it an eyelet in the top with a piece o flace thru it so it can hang .

This label will sure be a part of my Christmas decorations. I love how it turned out.

The Snow flake die I used is from the winter trails collection by  Studio Light.

Thank you very much for visiting make sure you come back for more wonderful projects made by the other Maja girls to inspire you.

Autumn Wedding

Good morning, dear visitors to the Maja Design blog!

Autumn has just begun and although we can still enjoy some warmer days, nights become colder and colder and leaves turn yellow and orange, a sure sign of the autumn season. And so for today I have an autumn wedding layout to share:

For this page I decided to keep the colour palette of the photo: yellow, pale orange, delicate green and pastel brown. This is perhaps not my frequent choice of colours, but it was surprisingly nice to work with. First I built the background using papers from the Enjoying Outdoors and Vintage Summer Basics collections. The I added some brick pattern onto the top sheet using a Prima stencil and crackle paste:

I kept the design rather simple, with a flowery heart matting the photo as the only decorative element. I added some white resin embellishments among the flowers and some theme words describing marriage features around the photo. Under the heart I attached a delicate lace bow. The heart is also matted with frayed cheesecloth.

The layout is quite dimensional and perfect to go into a shadowbox-like frame.

I really like the way it turned out, light and delicate with some touches of bright colours, with the photo still in focus. What do you think?

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers, stencil, crackle paste – Prima; resin embellishments: handmade with Prosvet moulds; cheesecloth, bling, lace – my stash.

Thank you for visiting and see you later!

Spread Joy

Hello, and welcome to all of our friends of the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy with you on the blog on this lovely day. I’m having a joyful day filled with flower making, stamping, and playing with my pretty Maja Design papers, all of which has led to this new card to share with you.

I’m using Maja Design’s Fika collection again this week, because I absolutely love purple, and this collection is filled with every hue of this beloved color. I’m working primarily with the deepest purple in the collection (almost a purple-blue), with accents in lighter tones.

I’m like a kid at Christmas with some new stamps I have in my collection, and have been happily stamping away, finding new ways to use them to enhance my projects.

I’m also in flower making mode. I love creating flowers from Maja Design papers. It’s the best paper I’ve ever found for this purpose, and when I take the time to make my own, my flowers perfectly coordinate with each project. I have tutorials for these roses on my blog for anyone who would like to give them a try.

The leaves are die cut and tucked in amongst the florals, along with autumnal berries resin frames, and a natural twine bow.

I’m now sitting at my very messy craft desk, blissfully surrounded by layer upon layer of Maja Design goodness, and I’m counting my blessings to have had a chance to create something today. Taking the time to use our hands, minds, and energy doing something we love is so important to our mental and physical health. I hope you’ll be able to find some quiet moments in your day to bring your masterpieces to life.

Maja Design Papers Used:

Other Products Used: Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Dies and Distress Tool, Magnolia Rose Leaf Die, Flower Shaping Tools, Seth Apter Stamp, Unlabeled Sentiment Stamp, Archival Ink, Prima Resin Frames, Natural Twine, Acrylic Paint and Brushes, Sewing Machine, Thread.

Thank you so much for joining us on the blog! Your visit is a bright spot in in our day, and we hope you’ll be back each and every day to check out new projects from the design team. Don’t forget to take part in the monthly mood board challenge for the chance to win an entire collection of your choice of Maja Design paper. I wish you a week filled with love, magic, and crafty adventures!

Hugs,

Hi everyone! Here I am with a cute little tag I made with the gorgeous Coffee in the Arbour collection! I just love the beautiful colours, and for this one I have combined the soft purple with the soft green colours. Hope you like it!

The image from Magnolia is coloured with Distress Ink, re-inkers and Markers on water colour paper called The Langton. I use synthetic brushes, mostly size 0 and 000.  I have placed some Liquid pearls in her hair. The stamp is masked together with a sentiment stamp from the same collection (Upgrade Le Fleur).

The “Join me for a Coffee?” is cut out from the sheet called “Delicious Moments”.

The beautiful flowers are from Petaloo and Wild Orchid Crafts. I think they fit the papers so well.

Here a close up. The big rose is from WOC. I have placed some Sisal grass under the flowers. All the paper edges are inked with Walnut Stain, and the papers are sewed together on a sewing machine.

I have cut out the “gratulerer” text from Maja papers. The die is from Papirdesign, and means congratulation.

This tag was also published in the magazine Ett Trykk in the August issue.

I hope you are having a lovely Autumn. Maybe you find some time crafting?!

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja blog!

With love
