Hi Maja Design friends, its Tina with you today to share with you my next project. I wanted to create something vibrant and happy to share with you today because I feel we all need a little uplifting at the time in the world.

This is “The best place”……

As you can probably tell I have used the new release “Little Street Cafe” for the inspiration of this project. I love the colours of this collection. They really push me to use brighter colours and I love a good challenge. I decided on using a black and white photo of my youngest daughter to make things a little easier. I have used the patterned papers “The best place” and “Hot drinks”. I took the barcode strip from “The best place” and cut it and used this for my title. Easy. Love that these pieces can be used as I hate to waste paper.

            “The best place”

                   “Hot drinks”

I added texture to my background using a Dusty Attic Stencil and Crackle Paste in white. I added more layers of the gorgeous “Hot drinks” and adhered these to the top section of my page. These pieces were distressed a little and also layered up using some old chipboard pieces. I have used some Dusty Attic chipboards to help embellish my page. These pieces were all dressed similarly using white gesso and crackle paste. I used the Little Street Cafe patterned paper “Tea please” for the backing of my little chipboard window.

                            “Tea please”

And around this I added in some tea stained muslin. Once I added in the muslin I then decided on adding more orange tones to my project to keep it bright and happy. I did this by colouring around my photo area using some pigments in gold.

I also added in a little random stamping using 49andMarket’s Stitching stamps and some numbers.

Above you can see that I also added in some Rafia in the natural colour to hold the frame in place on my project. I added in some gorgeous 49andMarket florals in pinks and soft cashmere. These were dry brushed with a little white gesso to tone the colours. I also added in some splatters of white gesso and pink acrylic paint. I highlighted some of the bluebell chipboard foliage with Star Dust stickles to keep my project sparkling and then I was completed.

Well I hope that this post has bought some happiness to your day. Keep smiling and stay safe.

Stay Healthy

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

We’ve been locked in our homes for more than a month now due to the deadly virus ravaging the world. Restrictions that it had imposed on us have been tedious and tiresome but I think we can still call ourselves lucky if our only worry is the inability to go shopping whenever we want. There are thousands more miserable, suffering and fighting for their lives, needing help and support. For all those who are sick I dedicate these get well soon cards:

For the “boy” card I used my favourite Denim&Friends collection, adding a hand-coloured stamped image and die-cut patches and a pill blister.

I used similar elements for the “girl” card, but arranged the design horizontally rather than vertically and used the Little Street Cafe collection 🙂

As you can see, I can make flowerless cards too! 😀

Having made the support-get-well-soon cards, I naturally thought of those who take care of so many sick people these days: doctors, nurses, paramedics – who often risk their own lives to save others. They always deserve respect and gratitude, but especially with this pandemic situation they are the world’s bravest heroes. And so I made a couple of thank you cards too:

I followed the collection and images pattern, but added some flowers this time 🙂

Here are the cards with some medical utensils instead of the images:

While making these cards I was thinking that even though we’re stuck at home we’re so lucky to be alive and healthy, I was thinking of thousands of people fighting for their lives and so many of them losing the battle, and of those who risk their lives to save others.  I do pray this pandemic ends soon and that everybody is safe – and free to go outside without fear – again!

Here’s my list of supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Marianne Design, Nellie’s Choice; stamps: Whiff of Joy, Lemonade; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; pearls: Basic Grey.

While we can’t do much to heal the sick ones, we can still do a lot to make everyone safer. So please stay at home, save lives 🙂

Happy flower girls

Welcome creative friends!

I was inspired to create a mixed media layout as memory on a beautiful vacation last year

to Madeira, it’s a beautiful island situated in the north Atlantic Ocean.

We visited the Flower Festival in spring.
There was an enchanting flower parade, where people danced happily through the streets.

A sea of colours, shapes and scents, simply unforgettably beautiful.

Always suitable for a spring or flowery theme is the latest paper amazing collection ‘ Little street Cafe’

I used the paper sheet ‘Something sweets’ as background together with ‘The best place’.  Matching the flowery theme I added some chipboards from Dusty Attic, some remnants of lace, and some Prima Marketing embellishments and flowers to the mixed media layout.

 Thanks for your visit!
Stay safe everyone and take care of yourselves and your loved ones…

Hello Spring!

Hi everyone! I hope you and your families are ok in this strange and unreal days. We are staying positive and like everyone else, we can’t wait till this is over. Strangley enough this situation is taking more energy from me than I thought, and I haven’t manage to make many cards. But as I have some dates to post here on the blog, I have made this Spring card with some gorgeous MajaDesign Vintage Spring Basics papers.

I have cut out the cute bird house with some yellow Spring papers. The white you see here and there is white Gesso that I have painted with a flat broad brush.

Also the small butterflies are cut out from the gorgeous papers. There are sheets in the collection that are covered with butterflies, that you can cut our and put them on your creations.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The image is and many of the dies are from Magnolia. I have painted the image with Distress Ink re-inkers and Markers. I use from 2-3 hours painting one image. So it is not done in a sweep!

I have painted the image in pink, but I didn’t want to make a pink card. So I have toned it a bit down, using more yellow and beige papers from the Vintage Spring Basics collection. Only the feathers I have cut out are pink.

I hope you like my card! Thank you for visiting the MajaDesign blog today.

With love,

Happy Easter

Hello sweet Maja Fans.

Lenet here today  and I bring you this Happy Eastercard.

I hope you and your loved ones are safe from this nasty virus , and wish the ones who caught it a safe and quick recovery.

To bring you a little happy nesss I made you this card. Using the Vintage spring collection.

I did some stitching around the edges with my sewing machine. I always love the look of it.

At the back of the centerpiece a added a glittered frame from tattered angels.  and some cisal to make a little nest look.

A big soft yellowbow to compleet it all .

The flowers are from my own stash.

I used  a piece of strip from the vintage spring 2nd of March for the sentiment on my card.

with this card I wish you all a Happy Easter and stay safe..
