Hello Maja Friends,

October is almost over, so it’s to start Christmas preparations. And I like this time when I look through all Maja Design Christmas collections. It’s a hard choice, so I hope to try each one and to create many cards.

For today’s post I chose Traditional Christmas collection from the previous year.

I enjoyed the process of fussy cutting the elves

I like traditional colors of this collection and especially those cute elves.

I embellished my cards with Christmas die cuts and like that used only papers for them.

Those elves are perfect for decorating not only kids projects.

Hello Dear Maja Fans,

Hope you all are safe and oke.

Lenet here and today I bring you this Halloween wallhanger made  from a wooden doorhanger and papers from the Little streetcafe collection.

I made the moon of the hole  in the doorhanger that you use to hang it on your doorknob .

I put some tiny lights from Tim Holtz idea-ology behind the moon so it can really shine.

The chippies are from Scrapaholics and I colored them black with black embossingpowder from WOW. The little bats are dies from wich I don’t know the brand any more.

A close up from the moon. on the back I used the same paper as the moon , the Yellow sunshine sheet.

ThanI put the tiny lights in a way that you won’t see it peeping from behind the full moon.than i clued a piece of mica sheet on the top of the wallhanger before I glued the papers on it and on the mica I gleud the full moon. I cut it a little smaller than the original hole so you would see the light as you turn it on.

I hide the on and of switch on the back of the hanger.

I hope you like my little Halloween project and I wish you a safe and happy Halloween.

See you next time,

Confirmation Card Revisited

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

A couple of years ago on one of the craft forums I found a challenge called “Project Revisited”. The challenge meant that you recreate a past project of yours, whether introducing some changes or not. I thought this was great for beginners to check on their progress, but also for any crafter, just for fun. And so with a recent Confirmation card order I thought of this challenge and recreated a card I made a couple of years ago.

I used the Miles Apart collection for the card and kept the design mostly unchanged, but while I used just Monochrome papers then, I decided to go for a patterned paper this time, choosing my favourite rose bouquets pattern and I just LOVE how fresh and delicate it looks!

In the previous card the die-cut doilies were supposed to add some texture and interest to the background, and here I found they provide the structure for the design and make the background less busy. I think it’s awesome how the same element can have opposite functions when used in different contexts!

As the card was supposed to go into an envelope I went easier on the flower cluster than in the past card, but it still has a nice dimension:

And here’s what I used for this version of the card:

And how about you? Do you “visit” your past projects sometimes, and if yes, do you change much?

See you soon!

Adore.

Hello friends.  Jennifer Snyder here today to share a cozy home decor piece for the holidays.

As the weather turns colder, my creativity also starts to focus on Christmas and holiday cheer. I took this opportunity to create a Christmas home decor piece using Maja Design’s Traditional Christmas season.

My shadowbox used a combination of the 12×12 papers and 6×6 papers from the collection:  Singing Carols, Santa’s Elves, Family Gathering, By the Fireplace.

Singing carols-bs

I used the collection as the wall paper  for the Christmas scene, for the gift wrapping and for the adorable stocking hanging from the festive mantle. The 6×6 paper pads are great when making these smaller items.

Doesn’t the 6×6 Traditional Christmas collection make the most beautiful gift wrap?

Thank you for joining us today.  Happy crafting.
