Morning Maja friends! It’s Andrea here with you today, showing off some super special gifts I received this week from Sweden! Seems as though Santa has come to New Jersey a wee bit early…how wonderful is that! A Gift for You is Maja Design’s latest creation and I wasted no time making a Christmas card, though we still have about 2 & 1/2 months before that big day…(though you can never start your holiday card stash too early!). Here’s what I made with ‘from someone special’, ‘from Santa with love’ and ‘given from the heart’ papers: In addition to the papers, I added a glittered snowflake, a bell-adorned candy cane and some vintage lace. I also pulled out some Vintage Summer Basics paper in order to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month:
This card also features Verve’s Pink Power stamps and Zva Creative pearls. Next, I used my very favorite papers, Ska Vi Ta En Fika? to make an uplifting card:
I also used a Verve sentiment on this one, the set is called Inspire Hope. I added a sweet twine bow, daisy chain lace adorned with crystals and some liquid pearls.
How Wonderful Life Is….
3 Write a commentMorning Maja friends! Andrea is here checking in with you on this lovely Fall day! One of my all time favorite Maja collections is the Vintage Autumn Basics…full of gorgeous roses, sepia/warm brown tones and lots of coordinating patterns. When I first sat down to make this card, I had pulled out a bunch of autumn-looking leaves…maples, oaks and birch…but then decided on vintage flowers! Of course…here’s what I mean: The sentiment panel is sugar coated…meaning I sprayed some Elmer’s glue onto the die cut and then sprinkled a little crystal coarse glitter on it. I then distressed the edges of the inside panel and added a bit more sparkle. Underneath that is some stretched out gauze…one of my new favorite accessories. I tied the bow with silk ribbon and added the roses. The sentiment is courtesy of Verve and I also added a trio of copper buttons to the top.
In Our Sofa…Andrea
8 Write a commentHappy Saturday morning, Maja friends! It’s Andrea here with you today to share my scrap space! I am very fortunate in that a few years ago we added an addition to our house, one that included a master suite and bathroom…which consequently left us with a spare bedroom. Well, not for long as I comandeered the space for my crafty pleasures… {insert sinister laugh here}. So here we go…I apologize in advance for having to use a flash as I picked to two gloomiest days of the year to take photos of a room that only has one window:
The above cabinet hold miscellaneous stickers, raffia, bows, extra adhesives, scissors and travel bags for when I go away to craft.
I keep most of my paper here, Maja get segregated from the rest since it’s the paper I use most often.
I‘m convinced that closet doors are best left closed, as evidenced by the following photo:
In here I keep extra gift bags, wrapping paper, travel bags, lace, stamp cartridges, Christmas cards…basically anything I can’t fit (or don’t like to view on a regular basis) gets shoved in here.
The above shelf holds all of my extra inks, glues, Modge Podge, stamps and extra papers. I guess you could say I’m a hoarder, wink wink.
These drawers contain punches (in the bottom drawer) and twine and seam binding in the top drawer.
This is my main sitting area. I do have an extra chair for whomever would want to chat while I’m working. I have a lovely view of my plants outside.
The extra chair is also used as my sewing station. I keep all my notions in the shelf above the machine along with pins, buttons, inks and markers.
This is the full view of all of my ‘accessories’. Inks, markers, punches, buttons, flowers paper…basically you name it, it’s tucked in there somewhere.
I‘m also very lucky that my husband is a carpenter by trade, so he was sweet enough to make these dividers for all the colors of my papers. I can’t even think of the mess that these papers would be in if they weren’t organized like this.
Here is my late night crafting light box. I don’t like these photos as much as natural daylight, but at 2 in the morning, this has to suffice….
Above the light box are accessories that I sometimes use to place behind my cards. Gives a little depth perception and charm. I also store my most recent creations on these shelves until they get delegated to a box below.
My wall of punches….
Buttons, favorite ink pads, liquid pearls and Stickles. Along with boxes of flowers arranged by color….
A closer view of my ‘go-to’ section.
The above drawers are designated for pearls/crystals/accoutrements. I also have a decent stash of Zva Creative flourishes and this is also where I store my die cutting machine for easy access.
The sewing center. I keep my scoring board and extra long cutting boards on the shelf just under the counter to my right.
Ribbons (unorganized and messy) but divided up by ‘warm’ colors on top and ‘cool’ colors on the bottom.
Whoops…didn’t have time to organize those up above…that is a pretty good picture of how my craft room looks on a daily basis.
My view while crafting. Sometimes it’s quite distracting…but I have to say it makes me happy.
Thanks for joining me for this photo heavy post…hope you enjoyed a peek around my craft space! In zero to thirty it’ll be a mess again!
Time for Fall
2 Write a commentHello Maja lovelies! The air here in New Jersey is cooling down and I can see some signs of Fall already! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Fall, but summer is my favorite. That being said, I pulled out some Autumn themed papers and accoutrements, starting with Maja Design’s Walking in the Forest collection: Accompanying the papers are some Spellbinders Maple Leaf dies, wooden accents, twine, pearls and Copper Liquid pearls. My design is loosely based on this week’s Mojo Monday sketch.
This Saturday I’ll be visiting with you again…with a quite a few photos of my craft space. See you then…and enjoy the rest of your week!
Uplifting Tag
0 Write a commentHello Maja lovelies! Here in New Jersey, USA we’re getting ready for the kiddos to go back to school…so sad…for them! The summer is winding down, my gardens are looking full and a bit tired. Summer is such a hectic time…you’d think it would be the perfect medium for relaxing, sunbathing and reflection, but it seems we’re always on the go, go, go! I did get a chance to sit down and whittle a little tag from some Coffee in the Arbour collection papers, along with some pretty fabric flowers, pearls, silver accents and lots of gems: The base of the tag is a Detailed Scallops Spellbinders die and the banners are courtesy of Verve’s Banner Bundle dies. The stamp is also from Verve, it was one cohesive stamp, but I masked it and broke up the sentiment to make it fit. Speaking of Coffee in the Arbour, I’m going to try to get some relaxation in with a cuppa joe before the madness of ‘school time’ sets in.
