CUTE..-001

Hello & welcome to the blog. Today I have another layout to share with you that I created using the “Vintage Autumn Basics” collection. I have used four papers in all from the collection, the  XX1, XX11 & XX111 & I also cut a few clock faces from the XV1. I really love this collection. It is funny because I NEVER scrap with blue, aqua yes, but never blue but I found this collection so easy to work with & I am really happy how it turned out.

I started this layout off by tearing the three different papers to layer up & the pieces I tore off the bottom I then stuck down underneath my photo to create an extra  splash of colour. I have also added some twine for added texture too.

I have brushed on some watered down blue mist to add even more colour. I cut out a few clocks from the “XV1” paper & placed them around the layout. I also created a frame for my photos from some natural coloured raffia.

I think these three papers look so lovely teamed together.

I have also tucked some lace in between the layers for added texture.  Lots of flowers,  I just cannot create without using flowers. 🙂

I have also added some nice chipboard pieces from 2Crafty Chipboard which I brushed over with a little “Kraft” coloured mist to give them a warm & natural feel.

To finish off I added some small pieces of blue mesh to add to the textural feel of my layout. I just adore lots of texture in my work.

Well thats all from me today,  see you back here in a couple of weeks time with another project.

Hi my name is Di Garling. I am married to a very patient man, I have two grown up sons, two grandchildren & a little dog. I owned & operated a Scrapbook shop for eight years here in Australia until I recently sold it & retired. I think retirement is the best kept secret. I love it, it gives me lots of time to enjoy my craft. I still teach scrapbooking & cardmaking once or twice a week, so all in all I am as busy as ever & wouldn't have it any other way.

Memories

Hi there paper friends. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I have a layout to share with you where I have used both the “Vintage Spring & Summer Basics” paper collections. I have to say I am really enjoying working with the Maja Design paper collections because they all mix & match so brilliantly together. Makes our job as scrapbookers so easy !!!

I have cut this word “Memories” from the Vintage Summer Basics “Memories” paper to use as my title. This particular paper has all sorts of great tags, words, postcards & all manner of ephemera that are perfect for cutting out to use as embellishments etc.

I have also cut some tags & labels out of that same paper & I have used them to create some great layers both at the top & sides of my photo. In the above photo you can also see the gorgeous “1926” paper as well as the reverse side of “Memories” papers, both from the Vintage Summer Basics collections. These two papers compliment each other beautifully.

For my background I have used the “1st of April” paper which is from the Vintage Spring Basics collection. I just love that little bird in the top right corner too. I adore the subtle details of this paper. Perfect background choice. All of the chipboard I have used, including this gorgeous screen are from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Here you can see a close up of the detail I have added in the corner of my layout. On the background, if you look closely, you will see I have added some gauze which I adhered with a gel medium before stencilling over the top of it to create some wonderful texture. I have also added some Olive Vine Glimmermist for added colour as well as a little background stamping.

One Love

Hi there Maja fans, thanks so much for stopping by. Today I have my very first post to share with you as part of the wonderful Maja Design DT. I have created this layout featuring a very old photo of my parents on their wedding day & I have used Maja Design papers all from the “Enjoying Outdoors” collection. I used four different papers in all. They are so beautiful & have a true vintage feel to them. Just perfect for this photo.

For my background I have used the “Time For Reflection” paper. I just love this type of patterned paper for backgrounds. I have also added a little stamping & misting to it as well as some lovely gold micro beads.

I cut these sweet little tags from the “Tags & Journaling Cards” paper. There are  lots of great things on this paper, I will have enough bits to do several projects with.

For the panel down the left side of my layout & also behind the photo I have used the “Feeling Good” paper. It is a lovely vintage paisley design. All the chipboard I have used is from 2Crafty Chipboard. You can see here that I have added some tiny purple micro beads to the chippie roses to tie in with the colour of the papers.

Lastly for my photo matt I used the “Colourful” paper which is also part of the “Enjoying Outdoors” collection.

The beauty of creating with one collection is that it is designed to mix & match & they all compliment each other beautifully.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit to the blog today & that I have inspired you in some small way. See you back here again in a couple of weeks.

Until next time.
