Hello, our blog fans. Today I decided to use the Celebration Collection to create mini-notebooks. I will use them to write down everyday routines and shopping list. I love to create projects with layers and small details.

The background was made with the structure paste and white gesso. Chipboards covered with embossing. In the end, I splashed everything with white and black acrylic paint.

Hope you will like my project. Hugs, Paulina

Take Time To Relax

Baby it’s cold outside! 🙂 We’re just having the first snowfall this season and it really makes you think of Christmas – but before we get into the holiday mood, I have a card to share focusing on different matters:

When life gets busy and we hurry to take care of so many things daily, we often forget to also relax properly. This card is supposed to remind a certain very busy bee to spend more time resting and enjoying life. Shouldn’t we all? 🙂

I made the card using various bits of papers to create a cozy scene with some stamped motives. First I layered some papers to make the walls of the room and then added various stamped images.

I coloured the girl with Distress inks and used the paper piecing technique for the armchair: stamped the image twice, on cardstock and on the patterned paper, cut out the seat, layered the two pieces and then added some shadows to make the seat more dimensional-looking:

I like the way it turned out a little dimensional but still able to go into an envelope 🙂

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Whiff of Joy, Inkadinkado; button: Prosvet; pearls: my stash.

And that is all for today, thank you for visiting and see you later!

Baptism Cards

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

It’s been a while since I did some colouring, so for today’s post I decided to create a set of two baptism cards, for a boy and girl, that feature a hand-coloured stamped image. And here it is:

I kept the same design for both cards, just changing the colour paletter between girly pink and boyish turqouise 🙂 The design is very simple: layered panels of papers, the top one with a decorative border that you can cut using decorative scallop scissors, or even hand cut, so you don’t even need dies.

Then I placed the image of a sleeping baby that I coloured with Distress inks:

…and added a heat-embossed stamped sentiment with baptism formula in Polish and surrounded it with flowers:

I mounted the particular layers on 3D foam for some nice dimension:

There is also a bit of glam to the cards with subtle golden shine of the embossed stamp and crystal and pearl drops.

I wanted to keep the cards simple but elegant – and I think I succeded in that 🙂 What do you think?

And here’s what I used:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Lemonade, Whiff of Joy; flowers, vintage ribbon: Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Spellbinders; pearls, crystals, string: my stash.

And that’s all for today, thank you for visiting and see you later!

Hello and welcome Maja Design friends.

Tina Ollett with you today to share my next project with you.

This has been titled “Happiness blooms from within……”

I have kept my project for today very simple and very shabby. I did lots of layering of the beautiful papers from may all time favourite collection Vintage Romance. The papers from this collection are listed below for you.

When I saw you bs – Vintage Romance

I have also added in a sheet of the gorgeous Lavendar Rose to compliment my layout from the Monochromes shades of Celebration. This was used to mat my photo and some of the other layers to help them pop a little. It is a very stunning colour.

I decided to go with a black and white photo to help keep the layout light. I also decided to use some cute paper clay moulds.

And as always with my layouts I have added layers of Dusty Attic chipboards to my layers of Maja Design papers. I have used Distress Inks to colour my chipboards along with splashes of gesso to lighten sections of the boards.

I have added in lots of beautiful 49andMarket flowers. These too have been added in layers amongst the papers and chipboards.

Here you can see all the layers of the torn Maja Design papers.

Here you can see I have added in lines of gorgeous lace. This has been cut to sit back to back and over the top of each other and also over the layers of my torn papers. I added in sections of white muslin that has been distressed.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed my post today. Until next time take care and happy crafting.

Hello Maja friends!

The sunflowers are blooming in my garden, a wonderful flower – beautiful and useful at the same time. They radiated stronger than the sun and provide the birds with plenty of food in winter. Mostly they grow by themselves and only need a support or neighbor’s garden fence.

I was inspired to create mixed media layout with autumn feelings and so I used  a lot of leaves dies, stamps and fabric textures.

The autumn colours based on spray inks in yellow, white and brown shades.

The Monochrome paper sheet ‘Old Brass’ from the Shades of Celebration collection was very suitable for it.

I’m always in love with the amazing motif papers from Maja Design,

but if you want to develop artistically completely free, the monochrome papers are perfect,

because you can hide nothing with your own personal design.

You know what I mean?!

I love the natural look, not perfect but unique,

just like outside in the garden and in the great outdoors.

I hope my layout was able to get you into the fall

and inspire you to play with the wonderful papers again.

Have a beautiful time!

Kerstin
