Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

Today is St. Valentine’s Day, a celebration of love and devotion. What a better way to celebrate love and devotion than a marriage? And what a better way to celebrate a marriage than to use the Celebration collection? ๐Ÿ™‚ And so I combined the two and created this wedding exploding box:

Perhaps the colour palette I chose is not a typical wedding set of colours, but they look so elegant to me! For the outer sides I decided on the dark brown roses pattern and added a mauve-sand flower cluster on the top lid:

Traditionally, inside walls are decorated with delicate patterned papers and have little theme pockets to put money gifts into: for a new house, for a honey moon, for a crib and the fourth wall is for writing in wishes:

In the centre I placed an intricate chipboard cake that I decorated with a lace bow and mini roses in matching colours:

I really like the way the box turned out, elegant and light! What do you think?

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; dies: Spellbinders; chipboard: Wycinanka.pl, ribbon, lace: my stash.

And that’s all for today, thank you for visiting and see you soon!

Hello there, dear Visitors to the Maja Design blog!

Do you remember the First Communion exploding box I shared last time? That was a girl version, and I decided I need a boy verion as well ๐Ÿ˜‰ And so I selected some blue and brown papers and here it is:

mdboxb

I used the Summertime papers – and believe it or not, my choice was mainly because of this gorgeous roses paper I chose for the box sides ๐Ÿ™‚ Just look how beautiful it is! I also added some Sofiero papers as the collections go well together ๐Ÿ™‚

mdboxb1

I selected flowers in matching colour for the box lid:

The inside of the box is mostly the same as the girl’s box:

And so there’s the stamped boy image with the cross and flower cluster:

mdboxb4

…the strip of paper for sliding in money:

mdboxb5

…and a chipboard chalice decorated with flowers:

Maja Design papers are perfect for elegant or formal occasions, their subtle, classic designs and delicate colour palettes perfectly match the chosen theme. I really like how this boy box turned out!

I used the following supplies:

Other: stamps: Whiff of Joy, Lemonade; chipboard: Scrapiniec, Anemone; dies: Magnolia, Spellbinders; flowers:ย Wild Orchid Crafts; Distress inks, glitter: Ranger;ย  wax string, bling, washi tape: my stash.

See you later!

Good morning, Maja friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

May is traditionally the month of First Communions in Poland, so I’m making a lot of cards and other gifts these days. And today I have an exploding bozx to share that I made, as money is still quite a popular gift, and there’s no more elegant way of giving money than an exploding box ๐Ÿ™‚

mdboxg

As you can see, I used the beautiful Sofiero collection – its delicate patterns and subtle colour palette are simply perfect for the occasion. I decorated the box lid with flowers in matching colours:

After opening, the box reveals the contents:

I decorated on of the sides with a stamped girl image that I hand-coloured with Distress inks, and a chipboard cross with the flower cluster – I die-cut hteย  vine leaves from the green paper of the Monochrome pad – I just love this addition!

There’s also a space for writing in wishes, and a dimensional chipboard chalice, decorated with another flower cluster:

…and the band for sliding in a roll of banknotes ๐Ÿ˜‰

I really like the way the papers go with flowers and embellishments, giving a soft and delicate look. Now I only need a box for a boy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s what I used:

Other: chipboard: Scrapiniec, Anemone; stamps: Whiff of Joy, Lemonade; dies: Magnolia, Spellbinders; flowers:ย Wild Orchid Crafts; Distress inks, glitter: Ranger;ย  wax string, bling, washi tape: my stash.

And what is your idea for the First Communion gift?

See you soon!

Hello Maja Fans and welcome to the Maja Design blog today!

Last time I shared a flowery boy layout. But when boys are growing, you need to forget flowers, I guess – especially when you create things to order. And so recently I’d got two orders for birthday creations on the occassion of boys’ 18th birthday, which is the official maturity age in Poland.

The first one was for a boy (or I should rather say, a young man) who loved the sea and intended to study marine science. As Life by the Sea is my favourite marine collection of all time it was a pure pleasure to create this card:

mdsailI chose the collection’s navy blue patterns and added some red accents with washi tape and string that I tied into a sailor’s knot:

mdsail1I die-cut the age number and added the name with stickers. I also added an anchor charm and some real sea-shells ๐Ÿ™‚

mdsail2I really like the way the card turned out and I hope the birthday man liked it too ๐Ÿ™‚

Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Life by the Sea: Nautic, Nautic bs, Drop the anchor, Bottle message bs.

Other: stamps: Crafty Individuals and Lemonade, stickers Glitz, dies Die-Namics, charm, string, cheesecloth, seashells – from my stash.

Another creation was a bit larger and more complicated, as the orderer planned to give the birthday man some money. And for that purpose, I think an exploding box is the most elegant way ๐Ÿ™‚

mdboxI decorated the cardstock base with a mixture of Maja winter collections – mostly using the Vintage Frost Basics papers – in a way that it looks like a traveller’s chest, with belts and “metal” corners. On the lid I put a mini toy car, chipboard gears and stars that I embossed with silver mettalic ep.

mdbox1When you remove the lid of an exploding box, it opens up, presenting the inside. In my box I decorated the sides so that banknotes can be slided behind the strips of paper. For example, one side features printed (blank ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) ID card and driving licence as the background for the money. I used the signature strip of one of the papers to decorate it:

mdbox5Another side shows the name and date of birthday, with a bottle of champagne to symbolise the celebration and legality of drinking ๐Ÿ˜‰

mdbox6In the centre, I placed a paper cake decorated with gears and a chipboard number (and well, yes, flowers! LOL )

mdbox2Supplies:

Maja Design papers: Vintage Frost Basics: 11th of December, 13th of December, 15th of December, 16th of December; Gammaldags Jul: Vackra Paket; Vintage Winter: Snowmen

Other: printed images, brads: Rayher, stickers 7 Dots Studio, chipboard shapes Scrapiniec, dies Cheery Lynn Designs, glitter Stickles Ranger; washi tape, flowers, toy car – from my stash.

I hope you liked my boy creations (almost) without flowers ๐Ÿ™‚

see you soon!
