Hello, dear friends! Welcome to the Maja Design Blog. It’s Nancy here, with a new card to share. I may have mentioned previously that I love autumn. I can barely wait for that hint of chill in the air and nature’s lavish display of rich colors. This is when I spend my days with Maja Design’s breathtaking Walking in the Forest paper collection. I find that this collection truly embraces the inspiring hues of the season, which is what I’m aiming for with today’s card.

Each design paper is carefully distressed, layered, and stitched. The sentiment stamp has been on my desk just waiting for fall to arrive!

A die cut wreath forms an anchor for the plethora of leaves, berries, and flowers as they tumble down the front of the card.

A twine bow is tucked in along with the florals.

Hello, friends! It’s Nancy here, wishing you a warm welcome to the Maja Design Blog. I hope you’re having a lovely Tuesday. I can’t believe it’s the first week of September, with many parts of the world ushering in the first signs of autumn. Mother nature isn’t quite ready for fall in my sub-tropical corner of the world, where she’s gifting us with sunny, hot, and humid days.

The heat draws me to all things cool and refreshing, and once again Maja Design’s gorgeous Coffee in the Arbour collection comes to the rescue. The soft blues and raspberry hues are just what I’m looking for.

The papers are distressed, layered, and stitched to form a base. A trio of circles draw the eye across the card. The first is die cut from the center layers and popped up for dimension. The circular resin frame is layered over another die cut circle to the left.

A 4

Handmade and purchased blooms cascade from right to left, accented die cut leaves, glass pearls, and twine bows. The sentiment is hand stamped onto design paper.

The lower corner to the right features berry vines and ‘Raspberry Lemonade’ from the design paper, which are my inspiration for this card.

Hello and welcome! It’s Nancy on the blog today, and I’m so very happy to be here with you. It was an exciting day in Charleston yesterday as we were in the path of totality for the eclipse. I’ve also just returned from traveling again, this time to my daughter’s home to help out after my grand-girl’s surgery. I’m thrilled to report that all went well and she’s having a smooth recovery. I made her a get-well card to cheer her up a bit, but my sweet little grandson sadly pointed out that I forgot to make a card for him. I decided to remedy that situation as soon as I returned home. All I needed was a little help from Maja Design’s newest collection, Denim & Friends! Did I mention I’m happy to be home? It feels incredibly cozy to be back in my craft room with a cup of hot tea, surrounded by beautiful Maja Design papers!

The design papers are distressed, layered, and stitched in the usual fashion. The blues in this collection are absolutely lovely. I really can’t get enough of them. They’re perfect for masculine projects, but work just as well for shabby chic pieces.

I tell all of my children and grandchildren they’re my favorites, so this image makes perfect focal point. The ‘You Rock’ sentiment is also prominently featured.

This is one of the least flowery cards you’ll ever see from me, but I couldn’t resist tucking in a few petals here and there. The paint splatters fit right in with my grand-boy’s personality.

There is quite a bit of dimension, which I’ll try to capture in the photos.

A natural twine bow adds a finishing touch in the lower corner.

Hello, and happy Tuesday! It’s Nancy on the blog today. How are you doing? I hope that summer is allowing you some relaxing creative time. I’ve been traveling quite a bit with my family, but not all of it has been for pleasure. We arrived home Sunday night after a long, grueling road trip. Thankfully, after a good nights sleep, I was up and running again, happily ensconced in my cozy craft room.

I was perusing the many Maja Design collections, trying to decide which papers I wanted to use for my project. It can be difficult, because there are so many beautiful choices! That was the moment my daughter called. She returned from a seaside holiday with her family on Sunday and called to share the joys of their vacation with me. One of her favorite memories is riding bicycles to along beach each morning and playing in the waves with my grandson. That’s when I knew I wanted to make a card for her using Maja Design’s Summertime collection!

The papers are cut, distressed, layered, and stitched. The sentiment, tag, bicycle image, and ‘summer joy’ stamp are part of the paper collection. Even the blue flowers are fussy cut from a piece of design paper.

I went pretty heavy on the layers with this card, and will try to show you some of the dimension in the photos. Foam adhesive is used to ‘pop up’ each layer. The flowers are woven in and out of a segment of wooden fence I had in my stash. The cheesecloth is stained and frayed to lend a tattered, beachy look.

Paper flowers and a twine bow add a finishing touch. Below is a peek of the inside of the card. I enjoy adding special touches to the interior of my cards, and this one includes another postage stamp from the paper collection layered over paper flower petals.

A happy hello to all of our crafty friends! It’s Nancy, and I’m so happy to be here with you at the Maja Design Blog! I’m playing with my Denim and Friends papers again. I can’t seem to get enough of them.

I adore the distressed barnwood pattern in the new paper collection. It takes me back to childhood summers at my aunt and uncle’s farm. My sister and I stayed with them a week or two out of each summer, which was a real treat for us. It was so cozy. Life revolved around the workings of the farm, and everyone had a part to play. My sister and I were charged with the daily picking of the strawberries and helping set the tables for the communal lunch. When we were left to our own devices we especially loved exploring in the barn, which always seemed to have a couple of bird nests and an assortment of cats and kittens to cuddle and love on. It was a simple and joyful time. This card is inspired by those memories and the happiness they bring to my heart.

The center flower is handmade from the Vintage Autumn Basics paper collection. Can you tell I recently baked up a batch of wildflowers? I’ve been using them quite a bit lately. The butterflies are stamped on design paper then fussy cut. A little nest and a few rose petals are hiding in there as well.

The sentiment is stamped onto design paper. Hand punched lace is is tucked randomly around the edges.

You’ll find additional stamping and a splattering of acrylic paint on the design paper.
