Hello and welcome Maja followers!

Tina Ollett with you here today to share my next Design Team creation. Last time I was here I shared something a little rustic /country, so this time around I have decided on something Shabby Chic to showcase this gorgeous photo of my two girls. And what better collections to use to create this with, but the ever gorgeous

Vintage Spring Basics and the Vintage Summer Basics.

Vintage-Spring-Basics-P

Vintage-Summer-Basics-P

Just perfect to create that pretty shabby page.

This I have titled “Adore”………

2017-05-08 Adore 010 (1024x1022)

I used the Vintage Spring Basics 7th of May as my background page but I firstly cut a photo mat from the centre to save on paper. I then layered torn Vintage Summer Basics 1922 and the Vintage Springs Basics 4th of May over this. When creating shabby layouts I like to leave large areas of the white paper core to give it an complete border and it also saves on sanding or inking.

2017-05-08 Adore 007 (768x1024)

Here you can see the layered torn papers and above that the photo mats with distressed and sanded edges.

2017-05-08 Adore 008 (768x1024)

I have layered over the top of the background page two sections of lace. I have run a piece of seam binding through the top piece of the lace and I tied it in a bow at the right side of the photo where it hangs to hold the chipboard title “Adore”. This chipboard piece was simply dressed in gesso and Liquid Pearls was swiped across and around the edges to highlight the titled.

2017-05-08 Adore 026 (768x1024)

I love to create flower clusters, and this one was no exception. I used leftovers from many of my flower baskets that sit under my desk. They were all whitewashed with gesso to keep in with the shabby chic design. To complete the layout I added in some Kaisercraft paper leaves, a Dusty Attic frame which was dressed in Platinum Liquid Pearls and cut into several pieces and also a little cheesecloth.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed popping by. Until next time, take care and happy crafting.

Hi Everyone, Its Keren here for the Maja Design blog with a new project.

I created another gratitude journal using the Vintage Summer basics collection.

I covered a plain notebook with the 1922 paper from the collection and even cut a small border for the edge

for the doily under the flowers I used the 1904 paper as it was pretty neutral. Then I embellished with some Prima Marketing flowers and vines.

I used the Vintage Summer Basics collection to cover this journal:

I used to doodle on my notebooks and on anything I could get my hands on. Fourteen years ago I discovered scrapbooking and fell in love with it. One of the main reasons I started scrapbooking was to preserve memories and photos for my children. Scrapbooking opened a creative door to something that I had longtime forgotten I'd loved. Hi there! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Here comes a card I have made both for Maja Design and Magnolia. I have will also show you how I made the moon and the pop-up effect.

Vintage-Spring-Basics-P

Vintage-Baby-P

For this project I have used the beautiful Vintage Spring Basics collection and the Vintage Baby collection. Now to the little step by step:

1

I started with making the moon. First I used my compasses. I made a circle with a diameter of 16 cm. Then I drew the rest of it by hand like this. I used hard cardboard for this.

2

Then I painted the edges of the moon with white Gesso.

3

Then I drew the moon on some Maja Design pattern papers (two times, for the front and the back).

4

Then I inked the edges with Distress Ink pad, Walnut Stain.

5

Place the baby on the moon.

6

Fold a paper strip like a rectangle and fasten it like this. Make two so that the moon will have a good grip inside the card. (You can see this better on the finished card)

7

To decorate the card, I have cut out some shapes from Maja papers: heart background, celebration, star tag, (flag and) cloud, castle. The dies are Magnolia DooHickeys.

I will now show you some details of the finished card, and how the pop-up looks like.

Goodmoning lovelies,

Are you enjoying your week? Well I am and that’s because we are on a weekend trip from yesterday through Sunday and I am so super excited because hubby and I need some special free time. Today I would like to show you a layout I created with the lovely “Summertime” collection which includes a gorgeous picture of my cousin her daughter on her wedding day. My cousin and are just two months apart and I am the older one hehe she gave birth on a really young age she was just seventeen. And I could not have imagined her daughter to grow up and be such a wonderful young lady that she is now. Due to my cousin was such a party animal when she was that age well enough talking about my family up to my layout.

All the chipboard pieces are treated with gesso, ruste paste and rusty powder. On the background sheet I sprayed with several sprays and then I stamped with the new designed stamp by Gabrielle Pollacco that I got in my latest DT package from 49 and Market. I just love her work and miss her being on this design team…..I really enjoy creating with this Summertime collection that you can say ot’s my NEW fav…. 🙂 Then I added a stencil design that looks like metall and I really like the effect it has on my layout.

On the long swirl chippie on the right side of my picture I also added a stamp frome the same collection as the little crosses. And on the picture I used a word stamp also designed by Gabi. To finish my layout I added some 3D balls in two different sizes and some of the clocks from a sheet in the “Vintage Autumn Basics” collection and some butterflies from “Vintage Spring Basics”collection. I also did some machine stitching on the outer side of my layout and on the fishtale banners.
