I wish a happy hello to all of the wonderful friends of Maja Design! It’s Nancy back with you today, and I’m up to my ears in snowflakes! Not the cold kind that you sled in, because we don’t get snow where I live, but the frilly and frosty paper ones that I make every year around this time for my Christmas cards. I start early with my cards because time seems to fly during November and December, and I’m also childishly excited over the Christmas holiday.

I never use anything but Maja Design papers for my snowflakes. It stays intact despite the delicate nature of the die cuts, and is perfect for layering into these dimensional flakes. For this first card of the season I’ve chosen the fabulous Vintage Frost Basics Collection.

The base of the card is formed as usual, by distressing, layering, and stitching the design papers. I’m sticking with just two colors this time around, because soft blues and whites create a wonderful chilly feeling when used together.

A 8

There are no flowers this time (which rarely happens for me), but instead an arrangement of layered snowflakes topped off with a bit of white sand texture paste for a truly frosty finish. Icy branches and tiny snowballs enhance the frozen effect.

A little bow graces the corner, simply because I love them and feel like nothing is finished without one.

Hello, dear friends! Welcome to the Maja Design Blog. It’s Nancy here, with a new card to share. I may have mentioned previously that I love autumn. I can barely wait for that hint of chill in the air and nature’s lavish display of rich colors. This is when I spend my days with Maja Design’s breathtaking Walking in the Forest paper collection. I find that this collection truly embraces the inspiring hues of the season, which is what I’m aiming for with today’s card.

Each design paper is carefully distressed, layered, and stitched. The sentiment stamp has been on my desk just waiting for fall to arrive!

A die cut wreath forms an anchor for the plethora of leaves, berries, and flowers as they tumble down the front of the card.

A twine bow is tucked in along with the florals.

Hello, friends! Welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, with a new card to share. The October Mood Board Challenge launched yesterday with projects featuring Denim & Friends in crisp autumn hues. It is such fun working with fall colors, but today I’m using the collection in another way to showcase the versatility. It can be easy to assume it’s primarily a masculine collection, but this card takes us in a completely different direction, with pretty florals and a soft palette.

The base of the card is prepared by distressing, layering, and stitching the design papers. The flowers that comprise the focal point are ones I received last year and rescued from my stash.

A 5

I added a bit of rubber stamping using a script stamp. A length of aged lace, jewel toned sprigs, and a twine bow complete the embellishments.

I wish a happy to hello to all of our friends at the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, and what a blessing it is to have this time with you all. We have a special sponsor this week, Petaloo by FloraCraft, and they’ve graciously showered us with beautiful blooms. I’m sharing some of them with you today, along with one of my all time favorite Maja Design collections, Vintage Summer Basics.

I realize it’s autumn in many parts of the world, but the lovely papers and flowers bring to mind flower vendors at the farmer’s market, which is where I draw inspiration for today’s card.

A 4

My base is design papers that are distressed, layered, and stitched. The central bloom is accentuated with tea stained doilies and lace, with a tumbling of florals reaching down the side.

A 5

The center of the card is layered with additional design paper. The lace edge is courtesy of a border punch.  An ivory twine bow brings everything together with a feminine flourish.

A 6

The ‘Flowers 4 Sale’ stamp is from my stash, and I’m thrilled to find a ideal project for it.

Hello, friends! It’s Nancy here, wishing you a warm welcome to the Maja Design Blog. I hope you’re having a lovely Tuesday. I can’t believe it’s the first week of September, with many parts of the world ushering in the first signs of autumn. Mother nature isn’t quite ready for fall in my sub-tropical corner of the world, where she’s gifting us with sunny, hot, and humid days.

The heat draws me to all things cool and refreshing, and once again Maja Design’s gorgeous Coffee in the Arbour collection comes to the rescue. The soft blues and raspberry hues are just what I’m looking for.

The papers are distressed, layered, and stitched to form a base. A trio of circles draw the eye across the card. The first is die cut from the center layers and popped up for dimension. The circular resin frame is layered over another die cut circle to the left.

A 4

Handmade and purchased blooms cascade from right to left, accented die cut leaves, glass pearls, and twine bows. The sentiment is hand stamped onto design paper.

The lower corner to the right features berry vines and ‘Raspberry Lemonade’ from the design paper, which are my inspiration for this card.
