Hello there, Maja Fans!

It’s Maja here with a mint post for you 🙂

Mint has been in fashion for some time now. I must admit that without scrapbooking trends I wouldn’t probably notice the colour and its potential 🙂 But since it became so popular in papers and embellishments, I suddenly discovered that pale shade of green. And found out it goes great with many other colours, especially grey – and as I found both in the Vintage Summer Basics collection, I created this LO:

mdspreadOn the grey “wooden” background I placed many layers of mint and grey papers. I wanted to add some lightness and texture, so I used my favourite mask and white gesso, and then stamped on the pattern:

mdspread1Then I added more layers to mat the photo, filling some spaces with flowers:

mdspread2I also composed the title using various stamps:

mdspread3Then I added more flowers 🙂 I handmade the white lace one, just sewed along the edge and pulled the thread and the flower came into being 🙂 Then I filled the hole with a metal brad:

mdspread4Apart from the colour combo, the page is all about layers:

mdspread5However, I tried to make it all flat to go into a pocket album – I’m really having trouble with the layout storage! What is your solution to that??

mdspread6Supplies:

Maja Design: Vintage Summer Basics – 1905, 1926 bs, 1943 bs, Memories.

Other: flowers – Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; stamps – Darkroom Door, Time Holtz, Inkadinkado, Stampers Anonymous; dies – Cheery Lynn Designs; resin embellies – DP Craft, Webster’s Pages

Having used most of the 1943 bs sheet for matting the photo and die-cutting doilies for my layout, I have left the piece large enough to make a card 🙂

mdmintThe design is very simple, but elegant. I embossed the paper, placed a chipboard frame and resin cameo in the centre and then accented the cross-points with liquid pearls:

Other: embossing folder – Craft Concepts; cameo – Webster’s pages; Pearl Maker – Waco; mint cardstock, chipboard – from my stash.

And how about you? Do you like mint? Do you use it in your creations? 🙂

So that’s all for today, and as we’re having truly wonderful weather in Poland today – I’m off for a walk! 🙂

See you soon!
