Dear Maja-readers out there..!

It’s now time for a new Mood board! This time we are looking for, and longing to see, all the magic you can achieve regarding this…

Moodboard-May

And here’s a little reminder of what our mood boards are used for…

Definition mood board – n

a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. They are all inspired by a Maja collection, but you are free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme. We highly encourage you to follow the theme of the mood board as well.

We are presenting a new mood board the first Saturday of every month. We will be presenting all participating creations that fulfill the requirements below May 30th. We will also draw a winner who will be winning a Maja Design collection of their own choice in 6×6 or 12×12.

After your creation is done, take a photo and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu without any watermarks (size 600×600). Include your full name and address in the e-mail together with what collection you would like if you win. Don’t forget to write down if you would like 6×6 or 12×12.
We need your creation May 27th at the latest.

We will only publish creations that fullfill the requirements!

Enjoy and get inspired by the wonderful creations from our team:

Happy Mothers Day - Cathy

Hello Maja Design friends! I hope you are well. It’s Cathy here today on the blog and I have a Mother’s Day card to share with you. In Australia, we celebrate it on the second Sunday of May. Some activities that occur on Mother’s Day include organised walks or runs to raise money for causes such as breast cancer research and breakfasts, brunches, lunches, afternoon teas or dinners at restaurants, cafes, or at home. Of course chocolates, flowers and special gifts are mandatory! I used pink in my card to recognise breast cancer, to recognise the survivors and those who are battling it. It is something that touches everyone in some way.

Here I used Magnolia Rose leaf die and gently shaped the leaves. I also used Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork, Green Tara rose and Kaisercraft mini paper paper bloom. I also like to machine stitch with my sewing machine which you can see here as well.

My main focal point is a stamp by JustRite called Vintage Rose Medallions. I stamped it onto Stampin’Up! watercolour paper and used my Stampin’ Write Markers from the Subtles Collection and a Stampin’ Up! blender pen to colour the image in. The sentiment is layered using some foam tape which is from the same stamp set. I also used Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and accents and a doily to complete it.

Cathy Mc Grath

Hi! I'm Cathy. I live in Sydney and am a Primary School teacher. I am passionate about teaching and love what I do. At present paper crafts are my creative outlet, which is my other passion. I am drawn to vintage, shabby chic styled crafts which I love to create. I do enjoy other crafts such as sewing, quilting, knitting and crotchet…not enough time! I am always inspired to learn and to try new techniques in both teaching and my crafts. I love Maja Design papers and enjoy creating with them.
