Good morning, Maja friends, welcome to the blog today!
For this post I have made a layout inspired by one of the older CSI challenges – and it was mainly because of the colour palette I believe I’d never used before 🙂
Intrigued by the combination of ecru, grey, dark rust and brown I thought it might make a nice boy layout. I used papers from two different collections and as always it turned out they work together pretty well 🙂 I first stamped some newspaper print stamp on the Nyhavn background paper, and then layered pieces from the Vintage Winter collection:
I love adding some real vintage elements to my pages: here’s an old clock face:
Following the instructions for the challenge, I added the title behind bars 😉 I chose to use stickers to form a sentence: Free your mind.
For the journaling, I used two stamps to refer to the title and stamped them on scraps of papers:
And finally I added the flower cluster and a beautiful metal birdcage:
I really like the way this page turned out! And I like the dimension in it – though it makes it so difficult to store such layouts… But still, it’s worth the inconvenience 😉
I think I might never have used such a colour combo if not by inspiration, and that’s why I like to enter challenges sometimes – including Maja Design Moodboard Challenges! (btw, a new one has just started, see the post below and join in the fun!).
And here’s what I used for my layout:
Other: flowers, leaves, birdcage: Prima; stamps: Darkroom Door, Prima, Inkadinkado; washi tape, game spinner: Tim Holtz; stickers: October Afternoon; chipboard, metal branch, clock face: my stash.
See you later!
