Have you started getting your Christmas card list together?
I’m Jennifer Snyder here today to share my card for the holiday season featuring Maja Design papers.
I am using two Maja Design collections that may surprise you:
I Wish collection – I wish for a Holly Jolly Christmas
Vintage Summer Basics collection – 1905 ( A and B side of paper)
I love the rich dark chocolate color of the Vintage Summer Basics – 1905 sheet.  I used the “B” side of the paper and found a cool little section of the paper with some white distressing on the page to look like old wood on my sled.  Like an old – well used sled/toboggan.
The wood panel (A side of paper) was great for the background on the card.  My idea of possibly an old barn look.
I added some die cuts for decoration.  The sled had foam under it for dimension.
The diecut wreath was created using different tones of green mixed with a white layer.
I wrapped the layers of wreath diecuts together with red bakers twine.
Finish the card with some holiday embellishments and it’s starting to look like Christmas.

Thanks for stopping here to visit.

Jennifer Snyder here to share a wedding card I made for my beautiful niece and her dashing prince.
My paper choice is Maja Design – Denim & Friends.  You might say it’s an odd choice for a wedding because the collection is Denim.   But this is exactly why Maja Design papers are so amazing.  Each collection is versatile, ranging from feminine to masculine and can be used for a variety of projects.
These are the papers I chose from Denim & Friends
Floral
Sun-bleached (both A and B side)
Fashion (B side)
I accented the card with some chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments to help set the mood for love and romance.
The Grapevine Heart has been lightly dabbed with paint and the script word has been natural  to match with the papers.

I hope I showed you that Maja Design’s fun loving collection, Denim & Friends can be turned into a romantic wedding card.
Thanks for stopping here today.
I hope you can add some fun to your crafting day with Maja Design’s amazing collections.  You can see them all right here.

DIY Frosty and Faux Gold Filigree Christmas Ornaments

Jennifer Snyder here with a jump on Christmas.
Maja Design has some of the worlds best Christmas collections.  I pulled some of these collections out and got to work like a little elf.
I made some tree ornaments by combining Creative Embellishments chipboard frames with  papers  from Maja Design – I Wish collection and Maja Design – Joyous Winter Days collection

If you scroll down, I will show you how I made the ornaments.

The chipboard on this first ornament has been transformed into faux gold filigree using gold embossing enamel.

These are the papers I used from Maja Design:
Maja Design – I Wish collection
I Wish Ephemera
I wish for a Holly Jolly Christmas

This short video shows how the ornament looks from all sides.
Photos simply cannot capture the dimension and angles of the project.

Instructions for DIY Ornaments
So how did I make these?

You’ll need two packages of  Creative Embellishments chipboard – Small Intricate Frames.  The great thing about that is you can now make two ornaments like I did or save the unused frames for other projects.

Step 1.  Emboss or paint both sides of the chipboard.  You’ll need one oval and two matching square frames/diamond frames.

Step 2.  Using the square frames as your sizing guide, cut paper to fit behind the squares and then cut two more pieces a little larger to use as side panels. Once again, I used the Ephemera page from Maja Design – I Wish collection

Step 3.  Glue paper to each of the square chipboard frames.  Then fold the chipboard to form a 45degree angle.

Step 4.  Glue the square chipboard frames to the oval.  You will only be gluing the top and bottom of the square to the oval.  At this point, the squares are not really secure enough and need more support.

Step 5.  Glue the paper squares to the sides of the ornament.  This now

This is the second ornament I created.
The chipboard pieces have been embossed with aged ivory embossing enamel.

This short video shows how the ornament looks from all sides.
Photos simply cannot capture the dimension and angles of the project.

Jennifer Snyder here to present a pop-up twist card featuring two of my favorite product combinations – beautiful fun papers from Maja Design in Sweden and wonderful Creative Embellishments chipboard.

Since this card is a pop-up twist card, it’s a bit of a surprise when it’s opened.  Add on the chipboard and it’s a real birthday treat complete with birthday cupcake.

I have used  Maja Design’s “Life in the Country” collection on my card. The collection is bright and happy and feels like a sunny day.  That is exactly the feeling one should have when opening a birthday card.  Well that’s the feeling I like to have.
These are the papers I chose:
In My Flower Bed (both A&B side of paper)
Summer Kitchen (both A&B side of paper)
Strawberries with Ice

As I mentioned, this pop-up twist card offers some surprises.

I used a variety of chipboard and veneer pieces from Creative Embellishments.  I like to keep them simple by painting or inking so that they do not over take the beauty of the papers – they are only accents.
The pop-up twist die is from Karen Burniston’s die collection.

Jennifer Snyder here to present with a  get-well card made from Maja Design’s fabulous  Denim & Friends collection.

This collection is one of my favorites for layering.  The patterns and florals combined with the blues and soft browns in this collection make this versatile for both men’s and women’s cards.
These are the papers I used from the collection:
Summer Shirt
Stonewashed
Paisley
This is a closer look at the layers of the card as well as the sentiment.
I added a piece of fun foam under the sentiment piece to give a little volume and dimension.
The sentiment stamp is from JustRite Papercrafts.

Maja Design has introduced a solid collection to coordinate with the Denim & Friends collection.  It’s called Monochrome – Shades of Denim and it is a set of solid colors that are custom selected for the Denim & Friends papers.

One last view of the complete card.

 Have a wonderful day.
