Here comes a greeting from our guest Tomoko who is showing a layout of hers today…IMG_0448_edited-1

The delicate designs of Maja Design’s papers…. I didn’t want to make my layout “too crowded” this time. Wanted to keep it simple and clean.IMG_0427

I used some paint to give my page a soft and elegant look just how Maja Design’s papers are.

Jenny here for a quick little Vintage Spring Basics creation. We got a small pre-delivery of the new collection this Thursday so I brought some home with me. eastercardI haven’t created any easter cards this year and I thought it was about time to do so. The Spring collection turned out to be perfect for that.eastercard_det

The first thing I usually do when I pick up a new collection is to spread it all out over the floor when I get home. Maja collections are known to be HUGE with several different colour schemes. This one is no exception. It’s impossible not to be inspired when you see all those beautiful colours on the floor. So I always end up with different piles for different projects depending on colour scheme and after that it’s no return…

The Vintage Spring Basics collection will start to show up in stores by the end of next week.

The collection is also designed to be combined with the Summer collection. The colours match really well. It‘s a pure joy to see. Here’s an example where I’ve taken the dark pink called 1922 from the Vintage Summer Basics and combined it with the new 2nd of May from the Spring collection. Works out really well, don’t you think?vsb_compare

The collection we have all been waiting for… 30 new double sided sheets, filled with joyful spring colours and patterns.

The sun seeks its first beams through the clouds and warms up the earth. The crocuses say “Good Morning” and the birds are yawning while they wake up for their first concert. The trees are starting to blossom and nature changes colour. Butterflies and bumblebees come to visit us in our gardens. Spring has arrived with days to remember.

This timeless, basic collection contains 30 double-sided sheets with all the light colours of Spring. The high quality hand-drawn butterflies, daffodils and wild pansies ensures that you will have a new favourite collection for many years to come.

Our second basics series is built on the same idea as the first bestselling Vintage Summer Basics. A timeless favourite that will be in our stock for many years to come. The basics collections are designed to be combined across the different basics lines.

It’s still not to late to crawl up in a cozy chair in front of the fire place and grab a fika together with a good book. I’m giving you our new March mood board…MoodBoardMarchThis mood board has been inspired by the long time favourite Ska Vi Ta En Fika collection. It’s a celebration to coffee and the joyful atmosphere fika brings. If you wonder what fika means you can read all about it here.

And here’s a little reminder of what our mood boards are used for…

Definition mood board – n

a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truely believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. They are all inspired by a Maja collection, but you are free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme. We highly encourage you to follow the theme of the mood board as well.

We are presenting a new mood board the first Tuesday of every month. We will be presenting all participating creations that fulfill the requirements below March 26th. We will also draw a winner who will be winning a Maja Design collection of their own choice in 6×6 or 12×12.

After your creation is done, take a photo and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu without any watermarks (size 600×600). Include your full name and address in the e-mail together with what collection you would like if you win. Don’t forget to write down if you would like 6×6 or 12×12. We need your creation March 24th at the latest.

We will only publish creations that fullfill the requirements!
