Take Time To Relax

Baby it’s cold outside! 🙂 We’re just having the first snowfall this season and it really makes you think of Christmas – but before we get into the holiday mood, I have a card to share focusing on different matters:

When life gets busy and we hurry to take care of so many things daily, we often forget to also relax properly. This card is supposed to remind a certain very busy bee to spend more time resting and enjoying life. Shouldn’t we all? 🙂

I made the card using various bits of papers to create a cozy scene with some stamped motives. First I layered some papers to make the walls of the room and then added various stamped images.

I coloured the girl with Distress inks and used the paper piecing technique for the armchair: stamped the image twice, on cardstock and on the patterned paper, cut out the seat, layered the two pieces and then added some shadows to make the seat more dimensional-looking:

I like the way it turned out a little dimensional but still able to go into an envelope 🙂

Hello everyone,

kavith here today with a new project.I made a card with my favorite “Sofiero” collection,but went for green shades instead of pink.Green is not my favorite main color ,but wanted to give it a try combining with yellow.

Hello Baby Girl

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today!

Recently I got some cutest photos of my cousin’s precious baby girl and of course I couldn’t resist making layouts with some of them 😉 And for my today’s post I’m sharing one of those pages:

I chose the beautiful Marriage Proposal paper from the Vintage Romance collection for my background. I added some colour along the border with Distress ink and then stamped peony silhouettes:

I matted the photo with pieces from the Sofiero and Denim&Friends collections that matched the photo colour scheme. Then I added my floewr cluster mimicking the one in the picture:

I extended it into a cascade blending into the stamped pattern and glitter-covered chipboard flourishes:

I composed the title using epoxy and paper stickers. Then I added some sequins and gemstones as the finishing touch:

I mounted the layers of papers on pieces of cardboard (great way to use up delivery boxes 😉 ) so they don’t look flat against the flowers. And I really love the dimension it gives!

I wish a happy to hello to all of our wonderful visitors at the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, and I’m thrilled to join you on the blog today. I have a brand new all occasion card to share.

Once again I’m quite inspired by pastels, which I attribute to the beautiful weather and long sunny days, and the lovely Sofiero collection is just what I’m looking for!

Each paper is distressed, layered, and stitched to form a base. A paper doily anchors the lush bouquet of paper flowers.

Twine bows add a frilly  and feminine touch. The sentiment is part of the paper collection, no stamping needed for this one! I did a bit of stamping with a script stamp to add a bit of interest, then added a dusting of gesso.

Below is a peek of the interior of the card. I always try to coordinate it with the front.

Jennifer Snyder here to share a card I made for my mother to celebrate Mother’s Day.
I used the gorgeous soft collection from Maja Design, called Sofiero.
The beautiful rose florals in this collection remind me of the rose garden my mother had in our front yard when I was a child.
These are the papers I used from the Sofiero collection:
Strolling Down the Rose Path
The Elegant Winehouse
Romantic Picnic in the Park

  I used a Spellbinders die, created by Becca Feeken for the embellishing.  The die was backed by a piece of floral lace to add an extra touch of femininity.
