Layout

Hello my friends!

It’s Mary here with you, today, and I have a new layout to share with you. I made a romantic page, again, using papers from the ”Vintage Spring Basics” collection.

Close Up 1

The main paper on the background is the ”2nd of May”. I tore the ”8th of March” paper into three pieces and then I glued down the top piece on the top edge of the main paper. The lower torn piece of paper was glued on the bottom of the main paper, leaving the middle spot empty.

When accembled the papers, I gave them a coat of clear gesso. I added texture by using modeling paste and a stencil. When everything dried, I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang mists, ”Cotton Candy Pink”, ”Salt Water Taffy” and ”Cattail Copper Brown” to color my page.

I decided to make a simple cluster for my photo… only a doily, a little cheesecloth and some lace. And, at this point, I want to give all the proper gredits to the photographer of the photo, which I found on Pinterest.

Close Up 3

The chipboards are all 2Crafty and I painted them with Finnabair Acrylic Paints. For the title and the heart frame I used the ”Vintage Rose” and for the leaves I used two shades of green, the ”Lime Peel” and the ”Green Olive”. All flowers and embellishments are Prima Marketing.

Close Up 4

As a final touch I added some pearls and some microbeads and made some splatters with white gesso.

Papers used:

Well, that’s all for today…

…see you again in two weeks!

Thank you for your time!

Escape..-001

Hello there, thanks for stopping by the blog. Today I have a layout I created featuring my beautiful Grandaughter, Mia. I have used the “Vintage Spring Basics” paper collection. So soft & pretty & just perfect for this photo. For my background I used the “1st of May” paper. I actually fussy cut around the edge of the paper, taking off about a half inch all way round. I took care to cut around the little flowers in the top left corner & bottom right corner. I then distressed the edges & added a little ink before sticking it down onto the stripe paper, being “4th of May”.

I then cut some strips of contrast papers from the “2nd of May” & the “3rd of May” papers to create some nice layers underneath my photo. This paper collection is just soooo beautiful, the photos  really don’t do it justice.

Next I made some big & small handmade flowers from the “4th of May” paper (stripes), & I added some little pearl stamens to the centres. So nice to have custom made flowers to match my project. 🙂

I have also used the “4th of May” paper to matt my photo too. All the chipboard I have used is from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Escape 5

I have finished off with lots of mauve crushed glass glitter & some tiny pearls scattered around the background.

“Vintage Spring Basics” used….. “1st of May”, “2nd of May”, “3rd of May” & “4th of May”.

Di Garling

Hi my name is Di Garling. I am married to a very patient man, I have two grown up sons, two grandchildren & a little dog. I owned & operated a Scrapbook shop for eight years here in Australia until I recently sold it & retired. I think retirement is the best kept secret. I love it, it gives me lots of time to enjoy my craft. I still teach scrapbooking & cardmaking once or twice a week, so all in all I am as busy as ever & wouldn't have it any other way.
