Hi! It’s Romy here today with a new lay-out to share. With the really cold weather outside these days, I couldn’t resist browsing through my summer photos and longing for the sunny summer days again. This is how I stumbled upon this photo of my dad and me in Rome, that I just had to scrap. I wanted to make a warm and sweet lay-out to go with it and choose to use papers from the wonderful “Vintage Autumn Basics” collection, mixed up with some bits of “Vintage Frost Basics” and “Vintage Spring Basics”.
I first punched alongside the edges of three different papers and layered them on top of each other. Then, I took the “4th of December” sheet from the “Vintage Frost Basics” collection and started cutting out the grid pattern. It was attached to my lay-out with foamtape.
I attached a large doily on top of the grid pattern as a background for my photo. I layered two small rectangles and a die-cut doily behind the photo as well and then started working on my embellishment clusters.
For the cluster on the photo above I cut out several clocks from the “No. XVI” sheet and several roses from the “No. II” paper and attached them to my lay-out with foamtape. I also added two pearl swirls from ZVA Creative, a resin bird and some butterflies from the “Vintage Spring Basics” collection.
I made a similar cluster in the left upper corner with two clocks, two roses and a resin bird. As you can see, sometimes you don’t need much more than pretty papers to create nice clusters on your lay-out! Just cut out some pretty details and layer them with foamtape, decorate them and make them look like even prettier than pre-made embellishments.
