Hello once again, Maja friends! I’ve been creating quite a lot lately and I have to say that most of my projects are inspired by Maja Design papers! I keep them handy as I start to clear off my clutter of a desk and I have to say that they really provide such wonderful motivation. Today I’m sharing a card that I made with Maja’s Walking in the Forest collection. I love warm browns and earthy tones (as you’ve already seen from my previous posts) and today’s card is full of them:

The specific papers I used on this card are: Autumn in the air, Autumn in the air – bs, Jeans,  Jeans – bsDie cut letters – bs, Birch – bs, Fresh air. The medallion was made using an Alterations Rosette die and I brushed a bit of glitter around the edges of both the medallion and the sentiment panel for a nice sparkle. The crinkled seam binding was a happy mistake…I tried to make my own using a You-Tube video and ended up attempting to antique wet ribbon edges with distress ink…and the result was that the water separated all the colors out from the original brown that I had used. Green, blue, yellow and orange appeared…and who would’ve known…they are an exact match for the Walking in the Forest  collection!

I’ve also posted some pictures of other cards I’ve made using this collection:

Morning Maja friends! I was thumbing through my lovely Maja Design papers the other day and had immediately put aside my collection of ‘It’s Christmas Time’ papers, thinking…well, it’s not Christmas time anymore so I can’t use these! Boy was I wrong! I picked up the pack again and had a good look at all the beautiful papers inside. There are more than enough gorgeous designs to make an non-Christmas, every day card. Like so:

MajaDesignJan17ClThe specific papers that I used from this collection are: Christmas Thoughts, Snowflakes, Santa and the Tree (bs) and Spirit (bs). I sponged all the edges with distress ink and added lots of liquid pearls around the sentiment. Some fancy corner adornments, Walnut brown seam binding, Zva pearls and lace finish off the design. The sentiment is courtesy of Verve, and I do like to make a lot of my cards with a gratitude theme. I’m thankful for so many things, including being on this team and sharing some heartfelt vintage projects with you!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Hello and welcome to my first blog post as a Maja Design Creative Team member! I feel so honored to be here and I’m hoping that my love of all things vintage and shabby, including the beautiful Maja Design collections, will inspire you! When I received my papers in the mail I was so happy to see all of the lovely designs included in the 6″ X 6″ paper pads. As a card maker, I gravitate towards that size paper because the 12″ X 12″ papers usually have a design that is too large to capture in a card about 1/4 the size of a layout. However, when I checked the papers that came to me, I realized that I’ll be able to use most of the paper for card making…including this card here using the  Ska vi ta en fika collection featuring Kaffetåren den bästa är (bs):MajaDesignJan3PostRS

Here is a close up of the floral arrangement and the background paper:MajaDesignJan3PostcuI stamped the ‘thanks a latte’ sentiment right onto the paper after adding the floral accent which includes lace, tulle, hemp, twigs, white stamens, a Memory Box die cut in half and 2 paper flowers. I laid that over a length of pre-ruffled velvet ribbon over top of a strip of lace. The perimeter was sewn with a machine and I added a trio of pearls to the top for a little interest.MajaDesignJan3PostCuaNot only did I want to tie in the sentiment with the coffee inspired background paper, but I also wanted to keep the colors in earthy tones. True to that, I went into my backyard and gathered up some sticks to add to the flowers. Those dark brown twigs are from a mighty oak tree in my yard. My husband always jokes around with me that I can find anything in my surroundings to add to a card. That’s because my mind is always on my next card! Thanks for sharing some of your time today with me, I hope you enjoy and take a little inspiration away with you!

Have a great day~Andrea-sign
