A Moment Captured..-001

Hello Maja fans, thanks so much for dropping by. Today I have another new layout to share with you using some papers from the Vintage Summer Basics collection. I used the “1914” paper for my background & then added this delightful striped one from the Vintage Spring Basics called, “4th April” to both the top & bottom edges. Even though it is a different collection, I think it works great.

I have also made a handmade flower to add to my flower cluster above the photo, using the same stripe “4th April” paper. I really like adding some handmade flowers in the same papers as my layout to add extra accents to the page, plus it gives it a more custom made look I think.

I have created a mixed media background & the Maja papers are just perfect for this because they are so beautifully thick & they handle it so well without warping etc.

I have layered strips of both the “1902” & the “1904” papers underneath my photos, but unfortunately after adding lots of gesso & mists, it is a little hard to see them in the photos, but little bits of their colours & patterns peek out here & there.

All of the chipboard I have used is from 2Crafty Chipboard.

On my background I have also added lots of stamping, fibers, micro beads in both blues & silver, pearls, pearl sprays & finished of with lots of flowers.

These are the four papers I have used. Well thats all for today. I will see you back here again in two weeks time.

Escape..-001

Hello there, thanks for stopping by the blog. Today I have a layout I created featuring my beautiful Grandaughter, Mia. I have used the “Vintage Spring Basics” paper collection. So soft & pretty & just perfect for this photo. For my background I used the “1st of May” paper. I actually fussy cut around the edge of the paper, taking off about a half inch all way round. I took care to cut around the little flowers in the top left corner & bottom right corner. I then distressed the edges & added a little ink before sticking it down onto the stripe paper, being “4th of May”.

I then cut some strips of contrast papers from the “2nd of May” & the “3rd of May” papers to create some nice layers underneath my photo. This paper collection is just soooo beautiful, the photos  really don’t do it justice.

Next I made some big & small handmade flowers from the “4th of May” paper (stripes), & I added some little pearl stamens to the centres. So nice to have custom made flowers to match my project. 🙂

I have also used the “4th of May” paper to matt my photo too. All the chipboard I have used is from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Escape 5

I have finished off with lots of mauve crushed glass glitter & some tiny pearls scattered around the background.

“Vintage Spring Basics” used….. “1st of May”, “2nd of May”, “3rd of May” & “4th of May”.

Well thats all from me today. I’ll see you back here again in a couple of weeks time.

Diary #9

Hi there , thanks for stopping by. Today I have a diary that I have covered using some lovely Maja Design papers. They are from the “Vintage Spring Basics” collection & they are just so beautiful.

Diary #12

Firstly I covered the diary with the “5th of March” paper & then I cut some strips of the “7th of March”, “8th March” as well as some strips from the back of the “5th of March” that I had used to cover it with. I simply stuck the strips on to the front of the diary . I inked around the edges of the book with some distress ink.

Diary #13

I then proceeded to decorate it with some lovely 2Crafty chipboards, lots of flowers, a little string bow as well as lots of aqua micro beads for added texture. I also  scattered a few pearls around too as well as cutting out two tiny butterflies from the paper to stick in the bottom right hand corner.

Wonder #1..

Hi there Maja fans. Thanks for stopping by. Today I have another layout to share with you featuring my sweet little grandaughter Mia. I have used some papers from the “Vintage Summer Basics” collection.

Wonder 2

For my background I have used the “1934” paper from the Vintage Summer Basics collection & I have layered it over the top of the “1933” paper, that is the gorgeous floral one that is peeping out of both sides of my layout. It is a little hard to see unfortunately. (Scroll to the bottom of this post to see the papers clearly).

Wonder 3

Also behind the photo I have added lots of different strips of various Maja Design papers, then I wiped them over with some gesso before brushing on some pink coloured mist to contrast with the lovely aqua background paper. All the chipboard is from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Wonder 4

This is a great fun little technique as it is a good way to use up lots of your scraps & it also adds great textural interest to the page. Plus the Maja papers are so nice & thick that they are perfect for using with  mixed media. Last  step was to stencil some pattern over the page using a stencil & some texture paste.

Wonder 5

Once the background was all dry I proceeded to add my photo, chipboard & of course, lots of flowers.

Desktop13These are the two papers I have used.

The paper on the left is the “1934” paper & the one on the right is the “1933” paper.

Well thats all from me today. Until next time.

Maja Gift Bags etc Feb

Hello there Maja fans, thanks for calling by. Today I thought I would do something a little different for me & I have two sweet little gift bags & a card to share with you.

gift bag 1

For this gift bag I have used the  “11th of April” paper from the “Vintage Spring Basics” collection. I had purchased a “We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board” & wow I sure did have some fun making these gift bags. Once I got the hang of how to use it, it made making gift bags sooo easy.  I have used some raffia for the handles & decorated this one  with some flowers, a bow & a couple of little hand cut doileys. I then added a sentiment sticker  & a dragonfly, and hey presto, all finished. 🙂

gift bag 2

For my second gift bag I used the “10th April” paper also from the “Vintage Spring Basics” collection. This range is soooo beautiful & what better colour to team with these gorgeous shades of mauves & purples, but green !! My favourite colour. Again I made this on the “gift bag punch board”. I  have also used flowers, a bow & I die cut some various elements to finish it off. I enjoy making my gifts look pretty so a co ordinating gift bag & a card are the perfect way to achieve this.

Lastly I have this super simple card I made using the “Garden Moments” paper from the “Enjoying Outdoors” collection. Even though this paper was from a different paper collection I think it teams perfectly with my gift bags. This particular paper is a card makers dream. (see it below) These images are just devine & are perfect for a card. To add a little dimension I stuck a little posie of mauve roses tied with a little string on the front  a few sequins 🙂
