Have you heard about the new trend that is becoming so popular with crafters lately? There are now colouring books for adults! I tried my hand on a book called “Secret Garden” and I just loved it. I enjoyed it even more when I added some torn pieces of paper from the Vintage Spring Collection of Maja Design Papers… It seems to complete the look for me. I just love my Maja papers!
Storybook Houses in Nyhavn Collection…
2 Write a commentWe recently had a family vacation over at South Korea and one of the most beautiful places we have seen was the garden at Everland Korea. The place was blooming with flowers and there was a beautiful backdrop of houses in beautiful colors… just like what you see in Storybooks. I wanted to use the perfect papers for our photos and I found it in the Nyhavn Collection!!! There was a sheet that was filled with Story book houses, a compass, and a weathered wood pattern. Everything I needed to complete the page was in this collection!
Hope you all have a happy and crafty week! Hugs!
Beautiful Spring…
1 Write a commentHi everyone! Iris here again, and as you are reading this I am just on my way home from a vacation I took with my family in Korea. We were very excited to see the famed Cherry Blossoms of Korea during springtime, and to celebrate that season I created a spring layout for you…
The papers of Maja Design are so beautiful and delicate and I wanted to make a soft background for the flower patterns I hand cut from the Vintage Spring Basics line.
To achieve this, I started with a white water-colour paper and used stencils and thick gesso to create textured images. I then misted it and added watercolors to the flowers and leaves. As the paper dried, I simply added strips of paper and hand-cut paper from Maja Design….
I love the soft and vintage look of these papers…
These are the collections I used…
Hope you will all have a crafty happy day!
Maja Design Papers and Watercolors…
1 Write a commentHello everyone! Iris here and I’m very happy to be posting here for the first time as a part of the creative team of Maja Design. I adore the papers of Maja Design and one thing I noticed is the quality of the papers. I love to dabble with mixed media and I wanted to experiment a little and add some watercolors to the sheets and see what would be the outcome. I was pretty sure the paper could handle the moisture from water-colour mediums and I was very pleased with the results…
I would like to share with you a bright pastel Maja Design page…
These photos were taken during a summer vacation in Baguio City, Philippines. I wanted to use my Maja papers but also wanted the page to reflect a bright pastel tone. It’s really possible to use the shabby and romantic designs of Maja papers even for bright pages. I just used colouring mediums to make it happen…
The hot air balloons I used here were cut from the Vintage Autumn Basics paper, while the flowers were cut from Crea Diem.
The bird and butterflies are from Vintage Spring Basics…
I also cut some neutral patterns and individually coloured each strip with watercolors. I then cut it again in smaller strips and layered them up to create a textured and multi-colored strip of page.
The flowers were also cut from the Vintage Autumn Basics paper…
