Hi everyone. I hope you are enjoying your week thus far. Things have been busier than usual around our household lately, with lots of new happenings on the horizon. I can’t wait until things are a bit settled so that I can share all that has been going on with you.
As you may know, we have also been madly renovating for a while now, and the latest room to get a make-over is my old scrapbook room. Sadly, it will no longer be a crafty space, as it’s destined for new adventures…As a result, all of my scrappy supplies have been boxed up (for the time being), aside from my lovely Maja papers and a few little bits that I’ve managed to keep in my crafty cart.
It has been such a challenge not having all of my crafty bits within reach. You see, I am not a very decisive crafter, and it was very hard to decide what limited supplies to keep unpacked. So while it took some adjusting to, but I am finding that having a limited supply of products to create with is actually helping speed up my creative process.
Anywho, I am so very excited to be sharing my latest Maja creation with you all, as it’s the first time I’ve been able to craft, albeit on a very, very small scale.
Today’s duo is a little set consisting of a card and a mini envelope using items I had on hand, and some beautiful Maja Design products. I am so happy with these colors and how bright and lively they are. It’s rare to see such vibrant colors for baby cards, so I toned them down a little by introducing soft pinks and lots of cream into the mix.
To start, I used a WPlus9 Vintage Envelope Die to cut the little pocket. I used a pretty patterned paper, which I fussy cut, and added to the front of the envelope. Beside that, I added an old sticker that has been sitting in a pile of my Maja paper for a long, long time…
I had some Papertrey Ink stamps in my little cart, so I decided to use them on this project as well. I stamped the little hearts and the “girl” sentiment to add to the sticker. I also happened to have some twine and pre-dyed crinkled ribbon, which matched perfectly, so I added them too.
I decorated the back of the envelope as well, with all of the same elements. I just adore the phrase about little girls, don’t you?
For this little card, I used the pretty Vintage Spring Basics collection (3rd of March) and Vintage Summer Basics collection (1912).
I used a few more stickers, along with more crinkled ribbon, and a punched border at the bottom.
Supplies: Maja Design paper (Vintage Spring Basics collection (3rd of March) and Vintage Summer Basics collection (1912)), Papertrey Ink Stamps (Sweet Baby), WPlus9 Die (Vintage Envelope), Papertrey Ink Dye Ink (Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet), EK Success Punch (Abstract Flower), Stickers, crinkled ribbon and buttons from my stash.
I just adore how simple both of these cards are, and despite the bold colors, they both still look very soft and sweet.
Wishing you all a sugar-and-spice kind of day,
