Enjoy the Journey

Hi everyone! I am here today to show off a little bright number…Which is not something I do that often. I had an itch for a rainbow-inspired card and felt that no other inspiration would do other than a cartoon character from my childhood, Rainbow Brite.

Do you all remember her?

To start, I used a pretty purple paper from the Vintage Spring Basics collection (9th of April), and traced the top with a pen, using one of my die-cut tags for the guide. Then, I cut the traced scallops to create the fancy top of the card. You could also do this with a border die or use a punch.

I layered a cream cardstock over top, which I stamped with my sentiment and a few fun stars.

For the top of the card, I used a chipboard half-circle, painted white, layered a bold chevron paper, a die-cut doily, and a die-cut heart border.

I used similar layers for the bottom of the card, adding in two more Maja Design papers, the beautiful soft yellow and a lovely purple stripe from the Vintage Spring Basics collection (2nd of April, 8th of April).

I added a hand-cut butterfly, some buttons and a pretty patterned brad to finish off the card.

Supplies: Maja Design paper (Vintage Spring Basics Collection – 2nd of April, 8th of April, 9th of April), Simple Stories paper (Vintage Bliss collection), Precious Remembrance stamps (Journey), My Favorite Things die (Doily Details), Papertrey Ink Die (Heart Border), Papertrey Ink Dye Ink (Winter Wisteria, Ripe Avocado), Buttons and Chipboard from my stash.

See you soon!
