I wanted to create an album for Joel about his first Christmas Eve. Still I wanted it to be rather simple so I would actually finish it. 🙂 I don’t know how many mini’s over the years that I’ve spent years on, simply because I’m not that good at finishing them. The idea was to cover Christmas Eve from morning until evening. So here comes Joel first Christmas album, It’s Christmas Time version.jul1

I really liked this album by Twiddleybitz with the beautiful window on the front. I’ve used a Tim Holtz die for the border and covered it with Distress Stickles Rock Candy. All ribbon and lace are from a LSS. Resin, flower and leaves by Prima. The white and later on golden pearls have all been created with a Pearl Maker pen. jul2

I’ve covered the window ledge with snow paint and also put in an old fashioned “glass” by using a sheet of gelatin. I really love how he peeks out the window.jul3Here’s the first spread… All chipboard inside the album are by Kaisercraft.jul4

The little tag says “Our little sleepy santa” and he truely was. jul5The second spread…jul6The tag says “First Christmas present”. He got a little baby rattle in his stocking.jul7

“The star of the evening”. He looked really cute in his outfit. I’ve used Shimmerz Texturez for the stars. I created the star mask myself, using my Gazelle.jul8Next spread…jul9I’ve used an edge punch by Martha Stewart for the border. The little sign says “Grandma and Grandpa”jul10

I’ve used one of my favourite papers for this page, Merry. The sign says “Mommy and me”.jul11

Last spread…jul12I love the little alpha die cuts. They are so cute. Here they say “Santa’s coming”. jul13

And after a long day… Bedtime. Flower and bling by Prima.

I hope you got inspired to create something beautiful with your latest Christmas memories.

Papers used for the mini-album…

Welcome back to a new exciting year. We have made some changes in our schedule and will be presenting the Mood Board on Saturdays from now on. Here’s the first challenge of 2014, based on the beautiful Vintage Basics series…

Januari
And here’s a little reminder of what our mood boards are used for…

Definition mood board – n

a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truely believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. They are all inspired by a Maja collection, but you are free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme. We highly encourage you to follow the theme of the mood board as well.

We are presenting a new mood board the first Saturday of every month. We will be presenting all participating creations that fulfill the requirements below January 25th. We will also draw a winner who will be winning a Maja Design collection of their own choice in 6Ă—6 or 12Ă—12.

After your creation is done, take a photo and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu without any watermarks (size 600×600). Include your full name and address in the e-mail together with what collection you would like if you win. Don’t forget to write down if you would like 6×6 or 12×12. We need your creation January 22nd at the latest.

We will only publish creations that fullfill the requirements!

And here comes inspiration created by our new fabulous Creative Team… This time with a treat. Our very last Mood Board creation by Romy Veul…Andrea_Ewen

The time is approaching to say goodbye to our Creative Team 2013. We’ve had a very fun and creative year and have achieved much together.  We released new Vintage Basics Collections completing all four seasons of the year and we introduced our first Special Addition Collection, Sofiero,  that was a smashing success with much help from the Design Team.   I am very proud of all they have contributed.  We have retained some familiar faces for the 2014 Creative Team and want to offer our special thanks, hugs and well wishes to Romy Veul, Camilla S. Bakke, Ivana Camdzic as they transition out.

Now it’s time to meet some new and old faces… Here is our 2014 Creative Team. We just know this is going to be a great year.

Introducing the Creative Team 2014

Jenny

Jenny Grotherus, Sweden

Jenny is what we like to call the “glue” holding the team together and inspiring a team spirit  that is so special.  Her paper crafting style is refined, elegant and perfectly matched for MajaDesign collections.  She has that winning smile and happy nature that comes though in all her work.

Jennifer-Snyder-FB

Jennifer Snyder, USA

Jennifer Snyder is the chatty one on the team and well suited to be the Facebook Coordinator.   Jennifer remains behind the scenes and fills in when and where ever necessary.   We are so happy to have her on the Team for 2014 in a supporting role.

Andrea-EwenAndrea Ewen, USA

Andrea’s exquisite taste in cardmaking leaves nobody unaffected.  She has a flair for card making unlike anyone else.   We are so thrilled that she has accepted to stay on our team for another term.Camilla-EkmanCamilla Ekman, Sweden

Camilla’s simple, but detailed style is breathtaking.  Her work always feels like a breath of fresh air and her designs are truly fabulous.   We have also been so very blessed to have Camilla help behind the scenes when needed. We know this will be a great year with Camilla on the team.Elena-OlinevichElena Olinevich, Belarus

Elena’s playful style always delights us and leaves us excited to see what she will create next.  What will her imagination come up with next?   It’s sure to dazzle and captivate and we just cannot wait!

  Gabrielle-PollaccoGabrielle Pollacco, Canada

We’ve all been amazed by Gabi’s fantastic work during 2013 and we are so happy to say that she’ll be around for next year, creating her magic.  And what magic it is! Each and every piece a head turner and trend setting.

Heather-JacobHeather Jacob, Australia

When Heather showed up as our guest in August she totally knocked us out.  I do believe we heard gasps from around the world. Then when she agreed to join the team, we all gasped. We are fortunate to have her with us.

Ingrid-Gooyer

Ingrid Gooijer, Netherlands

Ahhhhh Ingrid.  What talent she has. She has a freshness in her work that seems to bring joy to all who gaze upon it.  Clean, fresh, unique and part of the team! We couldn’t be happier.

Maja-NowakMaja Nowak, Poland.

Maja’s playful creativity with vintage shabby chic is a perfect and natural fit for all our collections.  She has such a talent for gorgeous vintage, then flipping styles to make a stunning and strong masculine page.    We celebrate that she is on our 2014 team.  Marilyn-RiveraMarilyn Rivera, Puerto Rico

We’ve all got used to Marilyn’s creative way of integrating her background as a clothes designer into her scrapbooking. Her unique ability to drape papers has given her a style that is all her own.  She is truly a gifted and multi-talented artist.  We cannot wait to see what she creates in 2014.

Nadia-Cannizzo

Nadia Cannizzo, Australia

Nadia graciously accepted a Guest position in December and we knew we had to have her as a permanent member to the team.  Nadia’s flair and special attention to detail is totally captivating.  She has such an amazing ability to use stamps, embossing, inks and paints and easily transitions from girly grunge to delicate, mastering each style along the way.

Nancy-HanttulaNancy Hanttula, USA

We all fell in love with Nancy’s inspiring mixed media style during her guest assignment in February. She was a replacement for Jennifer Snyder, when Jennifer became the Facebook Coordinator in August. She has grown into our Maja family and we are happy that she’ll be around for another term.

Rachelle SigurdsonRachelle Sigurdson, Canada

Rachelle is the master of drama though the use of layers.  She incorporates layers into her work that make us all sit back and stare in awe.  She also loves the hand stitching as the fabulous finishing touch to her pieces.  We are thrilled to have her on the team again this year.

We hope that you will be a special part of MajaDesign in 2014 and look forward to all that the new year will bring.

Thank you for all the lovely contributions! You’ve really created some Christmas feeling.

A reminder of what you got to work with:
Moodboard-November-NEW

And the lucky Winner is…

Katie_Kempton_Canada

Katie Kempton from Canada!
Congratulations! We will send you the Vintage Frost Basics collection as you requested.

WINNER OF THE VINTAGE FROST BASIC COLLECTION GIVEAWAY

First I have to send a huge THANK YOU to all of you, for all the lovely comments and kind words. It’s you who makes me wanna go on designing papers.
We well passed 200 comments!! And I’m going to ship the collection to six lucky winners:

Mixable collections are just perfect! Double-sided I suppose,  so not 24, but 48 different designs to choose from! It gets even better: perfectly compatible with the other 3 Vintage Basics collections. What more could a girl want (expect for winning it, LOL)? Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to win (and drool all over it on beforehand)!

Fantastic!! Love that the collections always have a great mix of both blues/greens and reds/pinks so whatever kinds of pages you make you have the right colours. Also, your quality is unmatched, such lovely papers… and then you have the soft neutrals in browns and creams, and I can tell already form the sneak peek above that they are beautiful. My faves are the  blue snowflake and the blue stars papers.

Oh yeah! Another sentimental collection. Yes, this one is a little bit frosty but still warm somehow! And completely unavailable in Poland, as the rest of your products. It’s left to dream of it and cross my fingers… Hugs.

Oh my, I am in winter wonderland heaven with this new collection!  I hear the sleigh bells and can see the children playing in the snow.  I love how these are not the traditional Christmas colors we see each year.  You can do so much more with this collection.  I hope, pray and wish to win this collection Maja.  Congrats on a beautiful new collection.

Hi, I absolutely LOVE all of your vintage collection! I’m from Canada and I’m trying to find where I can purchase your product, it’s not easy but I’ll keep looking! I’ m from New Brunswick Canada. I would LOVE to win this considering I am not able to find it around here…Thanks for the chance to win! Sandra

Another great collection and I cant wait to see what your girls make with this lot.  They have been amazing with the previous collections.  And I love that they can combine papers from the different collections and still come up with something that fits so perfectly together.  Your vintage collections are amazing.

Please send your address and phone number to marie@majadesign.nu and we will ship the Vintage Frost Basics collection to you.

Take care, and enjoy the magic Days of December.

Marie
