Hi there,

It’s about time to make some Christmas cards! Or maybe alter a beautiful little Christmas box, to give to that dear friend of yours… or why not take some time to remember last Christmas by making a scrapbook page.
Be inspired by this months Mood Board and show us what you have created. You’ve got the chance to win a collection of your own choise!

Moodboard-November-NEW

And here’s a little reminder of what our Mood Boards are used for…

Definition mood board – n

a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other

We are using Mood Boards for our challenges. We truely believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the Mood Boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. A jury will pick a winner and will consider how the colours and theme were used. All Mood Boards are inspired by a specific Maja collection, but you are free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme.

We are presenting a new mood board the first Tuesday of every month. We will be presenting all participating creations that fulfill the requirements below November 26th. We will also draw a winner who will be winning a Maja Design collection of their own choice in 6×6 or 12×12.

After your creation is done, take a photo and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu without any watermarks (size 600×600). Include your full name and address + phone number in the e-mail together with what collection you would like if you win. Don’t forget to write down if you would like 6×6 or 12×12. We need your creation November 24th at the latest.

We will only publish creations that fullfill the requirements!

And here comes inspiration created by our fabulous Creative Team…

I am so thrilled and excited to introduce our November Guest Creative Team Member.

Gerry-van-GentGerry Van Gent, The Netherlands

Gerry’s fussy cutting is one of a kind. That in combination with her layering and delicate touch when it comes to details surely brings something extra. I can’t wait to see what she will come up with. If you want to read more about Gerry, please take a look in our Guest Creative Team section.Jenny

My mother always used to tell me “Wait until you pass 20. Before you know it you will be 35 and wonder what happened.” Years do pass by so fast. It’s already been seven years since I got married and I can’t believe where the years took off.So this is me… On a very rainy day in August, seven years ago. I’m not a pink girl, but the pink colours of the Vintage Autumn Basics collection has got a special place in my heart. I love the deep in it and the dark shades of pink really encourage you to add some white Gesso or Texture Paste for dimension. They also go so well with the Vintage Summer Basics pinks.

I have used I, II, III, IV and V for this layout. I have used four different Martha Stewart punches for this layout and layered the papers as I saw fit. I’ve combined very small stitches with larger ones. I have sooted the edges of II with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. The rest have been treated with Walnut Stain alone.I’m a Pearl Maker girl and I tend to use Pearl Makers a lot. This time I’ve actually used Liquid Pearls (White Opal) instead of Pearl Maker. I simply ran out of white Pearl Maker… The Prima Audrey collection is a new favourite of mine and I think the colours of the flowers goes really well with the pinks from Vintage Autumn Basics. The resin is by Prima as well.
I love to use every single piece of the Maja papers… That goes for the gorgeous stripes as well. The stripes in this corner comes from IX and II. I’ve used a small file to create the border on the photo.

I’ve added some Gesso using simple bubble wrap. The pattern that you can see on sheet I is another favourite. I’ve used the stripe here to include it once more. The light pink bling is from Prima.Jenny

Wow, I am waiting on pins and needles for these papers! Getting them in the USA has been a bit of a hunt, but so worth it! Anxious for more places to carry it and more inventory in the ones that do! So love your product and working with it makes my heart smile!

And of course we couldn’t resist Eulanda’s phone issues… We can’t ruin her economy, can we…
