Hi there..

Well .. today I am writing this post with some sadness. I have decided to step down from my spot at Maja Design. I have been on this team for 6 months now, and was Guest Designer back in December and worked with their products all of last year so I do feel like I know their papers well.

But the time came last month for me to make some changes.

My life right now is full on. There is literally no moments off, ever. My baby Sofia is now 1, sleeps less (which is great because I get out and do stuff before getting kids from school)  and I do not wish to miss out on precious time with her right now because I need to scrap, or feel sick in the mornings because I stayed up late the night before scrapping. I mean, I still do , don’t get me wrong LOL but I just cannot do it as often. I basically need to leave my days free and get some scrapping done at night .

My older girls are both in school, so we all know what that is like.

Right now life for me is: Sofia full time during the day, Sofia + 2 more full time from 3:30 until 7:30 pm when they finally are asleep.

Some nights I feel like scrapping. Others not!

So changes needed to be made to find a balance.

I cannot give my creating up right now! NO WAY! This is my lifeline…

But still I needed to make things easier.

I guess you could say I started feeling this familiar thing happening in my tummy lately.. the thing where you get nervous to create things and it starts to feel not so good .. I have had these feelings before and I let them go too long before acting on them , and reached the point where I burnt out.

So I decided to lessen the load and leave Maja Design for someone who can do justice to their beautiful papers. You see, another thing making me nervous was that I felt that since the time I was asked to join the team (November of 2012, just a few months pregnant with Sofia) , my style has changed dramatically. I feel I have gone from soft, shabby, romantic to a bit of grunge, a bit of mixed media, a heck of a lot of inks, mists etc etc and I did not feel this suited the soft colours of Maja Design’s papers. I felt I was covering up the majority of the paper and for me.. when I cannot do something right I just feel very uneasy.

So with all this, here is a card I crated for my last post at Maja Design.

It is dedicated to Jenny and Marie. THANK you both so much for having me on your team this year, for reserving a spot for me a year and a half ago, and for this great opportunity!

Thank you all for all your support.

Bye for now xoxoNadia-sign

Hello everyone! How are you all going? I hope this post finds you well 🙂

This is my second layout for Maja Design for June. Once again, I used the neutrals from one of their collections Vintage Summer Basics.

  Vintage-Summer-Basics-P

“Fly”

I love this colour combination because I feel that it makes the picture stand out. Especially when the picture is bright like that.

I used some modelling paste and stencils in the background and coloured the page with 13arts Yellow Amber mist. In some areas I watered it down so it looks lighter.

The base paper is “1915” from the Vintage Summer Basics collection and I also used some scraps from a piece of “Mountain Ash” from the Walking In The Forest collection.

Good morning! I hope all is well with you 🙂

I decided to use a bit of a different colour combination for my projects for Maja Design this month! I think I love thei light colours of their collections so much that I thought I was using them A LOT! LOL!

So I tried some new colours. This is the result using Walking In The Forest, an awesome collection! Walking in the Forest

After prepping the page with clear gesso etc, I started by applied some BLACK Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste and a Crafters Workshop stencil. When that dried up I added some stamping and some colour.

I then layered my papers, embellishments etc before finishing with my photo and some black splatters with black Ink.

Here are some close ups..

Hi everyone!
Nadia back again today sharing another pink layout.
This time I used the GORGEOUS Sofiero collection
Sofiero-P
“Cherish”
My base paper is “Enjoying The Lovely Fragrance” and the pieces of paper behind my picture are once again left overs from other projects. I love these papers and do not waste one little bit.
I used a new Prima mask and embossing paste to create the writing on the paper.

I then layered my papers, flowers and other embellishments behind my picture and used some pink mists to add some colour.

All the flowers  I used here are from Manor House Creations.

Materials List
Paper: Maja Design Sofiero collection – “Enjoying The Lovely Fragrance”, off cuts
Flowers: Manor House Creations- Mayglo Pink, Country Roses Pink

Good morning 🙂 Nadia here with you today and I am sharing my latest layout created for Maja Design.  I used my favourite Vintage Summer Basics collection

“A Life Time…” I started by applying some clear and white gesso on the background.. My paper here is  “1903” from Vintage Summer Basics . I  then added some thick white gesso in a “t” direction. I added some strips of paper from some off cuts from other Vintage Summer Bascis papers , some tissue tape and some canvas strips  I then built my layers using some gorgeous chipboard feathers from 2Crafty, and some new release flowers from Manor House Creations.

Maja Design paper: Vintage Summer Basics – 1903, left overs strips from other papers from the same collection.

Have a great day!
