Hi Maja fans!  Welcome to my last post as Guest Creative this month.  I have had a wonderful time playing and creating with these gorgeous papers!  Thankyou so much to Maja Design for the opportunity.  Your product is truly beautiful!

Today I have used the collection Crea Diem.  I have used some of the more subtle papers but then added in the b/w contrast of the floral paper.  For those of you who know my scrapping will know I absolutely love to create beach themed layouts.  I decided to incorporate this theme to this collection of papers.  It was neutral enough for me to add my own splashes of colour but I love how the darkness of the floral paper echoes the rocks in my picture.

I added lots of mixed media effects but love how the softness of the paper is still showing through.

016-(4)

I tore the paper and distressed the edges.  Applied some misting and some texture paste to the torn paper.

Layers of paper once again for my photo to sit on.  I will always distress my paper layers with a distressing tool and then I will continue to roll the sides with my fingers.

I added lots of different textures to this page including Cheesecloth, Sinamay and loads of shells that we often collect whilst at the beach.

Here are the papers I have used from this collection:

Ord Flyger Bort, Om Du Vill Alskas – bs, Sin Lyckas Smed and Kann Dig Sjalv

Christmas time is my most favourite time of the year!!!  I love the lead up and especially love the look on the kids faces when they have seen Santa has come on Christmas Eve…….it’s priceless!!  Today I have created a layout featuring the “It’s Christmas Time” Collection.  I chose to create with a red, white and gold colour palette.  I picked out a cute pic of the boys from our 2012 Christmas shoot…….it’s almost time to do it all again!!!  I really enjoyed working with this Christmas collection, it’s subtle, gorgeous and truly festive!

“Love & Joy”002-(3)

I really loved the script paper “Christmas Market” and chose this as my background paper.  It was fairly neutral so it didn’t clash with my usual busy embellishments.  I distressed the edges and punched my way around the page. I then added the “Preparations-bs” as the final background layer.  The red stripe was a lovely contrast against the script.

006-(3)

I made little flags out of the Santa paper “I Believe” and the paper “Snowflakes”.  Once I cut out the banner shape I attached them to toothpicks and tucked them in with my paper layers.

005-(3)

Loads of sequins, glitter and paint flickers were added.

011-(4)

As you can see, lots of paper layers were added along with stars and gold thread.

012-(4)

Papers used on this layout include:  Christmas Market, Preparations – bs, I Believe, Snowflakes and Sparkle.

Hello again!  Stacey back again with a couple more projects to share.  Today I have used the collection Vintage Summer Basics.  For my first project I opted to create something girly for a change.  I love that these collections cater for everyone!!  This is my sweet little niece who just turned 4 back in August.  She had her face painted at her party and I snapped this adorable picture of her.  These papers are gorgeous, fit for any little princess.

I distressed the edges and also used my lace heart punch.

Here I would like to share a really quick run down on my process for this layout.  I started out with my background paper and scraped some Gesso on it to whitewash the flower print.  I did this only on the section were I planned my embellishments to go.  I didn’t want to cover too much of the print as it is so stunning!

Using a mask and texture paste I applied the mask down the centre of the page.  Then I sprayed some Shimmerz mists to the masked area. Also taking the lid off to add flickers of paint.

140-(2)

I then applied my photo mat to the centre of my page.  I distressed coordinating papers at different sizes and layered them along with some calico material and string/twine.

141-(2)

My next layers consisted of some transparency and then I used foam tape to attach the photo to the centre.  Once this was in place it was then ready to embellish with all of the pretty flowers and trinkets.

143-(2)

I have used the following Vintage Summer Basics papers for this creation: 1909, 1922, 1923, 1925, 1945.

Plus additional of Prima flowers and embellishments, Webster’s Pages Embellishments and 2 Crafty Chipboard.

My second project today is a Mini Wishing Well.  I asked my best friend what she would like for her birthday and she said “Make me something”!!  So this is what I come up with………now to get it all the way over the other side of the country!!

I have also used the Vintage Summer Basic collection.  This time using the blue and grey papers.  I just loved this weatherboard paper and it was a perfect fit with this wishing well!

I just cut the papers to fit the sides and adhered.  I then used some texture paste and paint to add some colour to the grey.

The little birdy looks so sweet perched up on top!

I used the papers 1905,1899 and 1935 from the Vintage Summer Basics collection.

A little brick masking also.

Hello everyone!!!  Stacey Young here with my very first post for the month as Guest Creative Designer. I am thrilled to be here and have had the most fun playing with these gorgeous papers. They are all so beautiful, each one with a delicate print. One thing I love to create is shabby projects, my first one today is featuring the Vintage Spring Basics Collection. I chose the blue tones out of this collection to compliment myself and my 3 gorgeous boys. We are in the midst of our Spring season now in Australia, so the weather has been just beautiful, if anything a little too hot for this time of year! Anyway here is my first creation to share.

“You Are My Reason Why”

you are my reason why

I love the butterfly paper and cut out several of them and scattered them over the page and on some of my other embellishments.  They add a pretty touch to the page.

343

I love to add layers upon layers to my work and just tucked extra pieces in here and there.  I distressed the edges first and then adhered with foam tape.

338

More of those adorable butterflies. I also distressed the edges around the whole page and even tore the paper back even further so you can see the print underneath. The papers are lovely and thick and super easy to distress!

344

These papers were very easy to add stamping and splashes of colour too.

342

The background paper I used was the 6th of March. It had a gorgeous subtle script to it and I toned the middle section down with Gesso before masking, misting and then adding my embellishments.

337

I used the following papers from this collection:

4th of March, 5th of March, 6th of March, 7th of March (extra special paper as it’s my eldest sons birthday), 8th of March and the 1st of April.

Other products used: Prima Marketing Flowers and Embellishments, 2 Crafty Chipboard and Hambly Screenprint along with Shimmerz paint mediums.

Thank you for visiting today, I can’t wait to share more with you!
