The summer is nearly gone, but we still enjoy +23 degrees here on the west coast of Sweden. It’s very easy to dream of roses and gardens in full bloom.

I have created a card and a mini-album for a very dear friend of mine. I know that Sofiero is one of her favourite collections, and since she is a pink girl it’s all about pink…elena

I have used an embossing folder and Spellbinders Borderabilities dies for this card. elena2Flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts. The seam ribbon has been colourized with Distress Stain. Chipboard by Blue Fern and the butterfly has been cut out with a Martha Stewart punch.elena3And here’s what the card looks like on the inside.

I am not very good at making mini-albums. They take me forever. I have literally worked for years on some albums. This, however, was not THAT time consuming, considering Sofiero was released last year. 🙂elena1I have cut out the grid by hand using a knife and glued it to the background paper. I have used a Martha Stewart punch, metal by Tim Holtz and pearls from Pearl Maker.

elena2The white Prima flower is one of my favourites. The little cage was given to me as a present from another dear friend. And now I pass it on to another friend, spreading the love and friendship over the globe.elena3And here’s the first spread. elena3aI have used punches by Martha Stewart and dies by Spellbinders. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. elena3bA little poem and more dies. elena4Second spread with a quote to the left and some borders to the right.elena5The little fairy got a shabby paint and some pearls. elena6Third spread…elena6aI have used texture paste on the background and Crackle Paint on the chipboard butterflies. The pearls have been cut out from a Prima bling.elena6bThe right side… More die cuts and chipboard.elena7And the last pages…elena7aI really liked creating that dress. I have used three layers of tulle in different colours. elena7bClose up… The textured letters are from a Prima sheet.elena7cThe last page has a pocket with tags…elena8 elena9

I have used all papers in the Sofiero collection. I hope you got inspired and see you in two weeks! Jenny

Hello my friends and a warm welcome to you all. This project I am sharing with you today is a special celebration card. On May 21st Last month, my twin sister Lorraine and I celebrated our 65th Birthday . I wanted to create something special, so I decided to use a Concertina Base as my foundation and add lots of tags and notes as a celebration of our life together . One of the many beautiful things about scrapbooking is that we can create at any age – my motto – Never too old to scrap !!!

Twin Sisters  photograph of heather and lorraine  This photograph of Lorraine and me taken in 1973 when we were only 23 years of age. We had just purchased our first Hairdressing Salon .. It was the first of seven salons we owned . A very old fashioned photo but nice to have x

My gift to my twin. So many memories and birthdays, Love you Laine   xoox

Heather Jacob           When I handed it to Lorraine her eyes lit up and she smiled, sighed and laughed as she looked at and read all the details, the bits and pieces and all the memories  I wrote about . I included some photos when we were small children in a little tag/pocket .Heather Jacob         The May calender was perfect for this project and I cut the May section and glued it to the front section .Heather Jacob        Here is a view of the side section, showing how the concertina foundation is perfect for holding the tags and cards in place. one of the quotes I used is .. A memory is a photo taken by the heart … I just love it xHeather jacob This paper collection has the perfect tags , a calendar and little darling butterflies . All the items can be lifted out and moved around . Nothing is glued in permantly so I can also add items later if desired. Heather Jacob         Here is a closie of the calender, a tag holding a resin heart and the tag/card with the key holds some notes and some photos.. Heather Jacob        I have photos, quotes and memories inside this little note book with the key.   I had so much fun creating this, I have decided to make another one for my daughter . I do hope you are inspired to have a play …

Hello_small

Hello Maja fans!  Gabrielle here with you today to share a layout I made using the beautiful Sophiero Collection.  I almost feel a little guilty sharing this layout because this is from a Limited Edition collection that I believe is now sold out….but then of course, that means that a lot of you have this collection in your stash, and might like to see more samples done with this collection.

Sofiero-P

I just love the florals and beautiful pinks and greens in this collection.  The papers I used for this project are….. Sofiero (Royal Summer Recidence, Enjoying the Lovely Fragrance, Romantic Picnic in the Park, Stroling Down the Rose Path).

Hello close3

I was given these beautiful handmade blooms from my friend Lucy at Tresors de Luxe Etsy site.  When I saw the pretty fabric blooms I thought immediately of the the Maja Design Sofiero collection, I just knew these blooms would work well with these papers!

Hello close2

I love these papers so much that I’ve used up most of my stash, but I still had lots of bits and pieces left, so I used some of these to make the little ribbon banners coming out of the side of my page design.  I added machine stitching to the paper ribbons to give more of a ‘fabric’ look to them.

Hello close1

I accented my page with a few pieces of Dusty Attic chipboard (Skeleton Clock frame, Folliage, Wrought Iron Fence, Speech Bubbles, Ornate Corner #6).  I also added a bit of of texture with home-made texture paste and a Crafters Workshop stencil (Mini-Damask).

Thanks so much for stopping by today and letting me share my latest project with you! xo
