Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

A couple of days ago we celebrated Grandmother’s and Grandparent’s Day in Poland. And I created a set of cards for this occasion.

Both cards use the Miles Apart collection and feature the same design – a middle panel upon a background of a different pattern, a chipboard heart sentiment I very often choose to make almost identically composed cards as I love to see how papers and embellishments can totally change the final appearance. Just take a look: the card for grandma has the floral panel placed upon the heart-patterned background. I combined these with chipboard mandala doilies and a mini roses cluster that nicely blends into the printed flowers. The delicate and romantic look is topped with opalescent sequins:

Now the card for Grandpa: the same design and the focal element, but instead of flowers and doilies I added die-cut gears and moustache, and matted the chipboard heart with a piece of paper. The central panel is filled with ballons and instead of sequins I decorated the card with teeny tiny gold dots that were left after die cutting the gears ๐Ÿ™‚

As you can see, you can play around with the same design and by changing patterns, colours and embellishments get dozens of various looks ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s what I used for my cards:

Maja Design papers:

Other: dies: Cheery Lynn Designs, Cottage Cutz; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; chipboard: Agateria; sequins: my stash.

That’s all for today, see you soon!

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

I think grandparents are second important people in a child’s life, right after parents. In Poland it is common that retired grandparents take care of their grandchildren when the parents are at work. And so they play a very important role in kids’ life, helping to raise them and spending a lot of time with them. And I think grandparents so much deserve a special celebration! And so in January we celebrate Grandmother’s Day on the 21st and Grandfather’s Day on the 22nd. For that occasion I made two cards:

I used the Denim & Friends collection for both cards. For the card for grandma I used the turqouise hues of the collection, using also some Monochromes sheets.

I used a humorous carved chipboard pieces for my cards, and I decorated them adding a bit of colour and some glitter. Then I put each piece against a background of layered papers:

I also added a flower cluster and some pearl brads to the grandma’s card:

In the card for grandpa, I opted for the brown-navy blue palette:

I added screw-like brads and a star charm tied on plaid-patterned ribbon:

I think grandparents would appreciate hand-made cards from their grandchildren more than anything money can buy ๐Ÿ™‚

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Lemonade; chipboard pieces: Egocraft; brads: Craftmania, Rayher; dies: Rosy Owl, Spellinders; flowers: Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts; button: Lemoncraft; crystal gems: Prima; ribbon: my stash.

And that is all for today – see you soon!

Good morning, dear Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today!

In a couple of days grandkids in Poland are going to celebrate the Gradma and Grandpa days. We all know how important is the role of grandparents to kids, and so it’s one of our most favourite celebrations. for that occasion I made two cards, for grandma and grandpa:

Perhaps you’ve recognised the collection I used for my cards? Yes, that’s our latest release, Celebration ๐Ÿ™‚ Both cards have the same design and feature the images of elegant vintage people.

For the grandma’s card I selected mauve papers from the collection:

I layered papers, added a chipboard filigree decorated with a pearl brad and a flower cluster adorned with printed ribbon:

The grandpa’s card features blue papers:

I also used a chipboard piece on the layers of papers, but to give it a more masculine feel I chose a net fragment and added gears and a nail brad apart from the flowers:

The Celebration collection is just perfect for any festivity, with its subtle colours and classy patterns.

What do you think?

And here’s the list of my supplies:

Maja Design papers:

Other: stamps: Lemonade; flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts; brads: Rahyer, Craftmania; chipboard: Scrapiniec; ribbon, string: my stash.

That’s all for today, thank you for stopping by and see you soon!

Good morning, Maja Friends, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

In Poland we celebrate Grandmother’s Day on January 21st and Grandfather’s Day a day later. Grandparents play a very important role in Polish families. If they live close to their grandchildren, they often look after the kids when their parents are at work and they can’t afford or don’t want to send the kids to a kindergarten. Thus grandparents take an active part in bringing up children, we even have a saying that your childhood ends when your grandparents die. So the bonds are really strong and even though another saying is that parents are to discipline their kids and grandparents are to spoil them ๐Ÿ˜‰ I can’t imagine life being complete without having grandparents. And so in my today’s post I’d like to share a chocolate bar box for Grandma, which is a good idea for a small gift to celebrate the day ๐Ÿ™‚

I chose papers from the Vintage Romance collection that are universal enough to be used for projects not necessarily about romantic love ๐Ÿ˜‰ I had a ready-made cardstock base for the box,ย  but you can easily make them yourselves, there are many tutorials in the Internet. I layered some papers in the backround and used a beautiful lady image in the centre:

I added the flower cluster in matching colours and a stamped sentiment which says: “Grandma, you’re wonderful” ๐Ÿ™‚

To add some glam, I placed glitter cardstock strips on the sides of the box:

There is a pocket inside into which you put a chocolate bar, and I added another pocket for a wishes tag, as it would be too uncomfortable to write on the other side of a dimensionally decorated front. I cut out the tag from one of the papers, and also added some stamping to enhance the vintage look:

Now I need to look for some perfect papers for a Grandpa’s chocolate box ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s what I used to make my box:

Other: stamps: Lemonade, Tim Holtz; dies: Joy!Crafts; flowers, ribbon: Wild Orchid Crafts.

See you later!Maja-sign
