Hello and welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy again today, with a new card to share. Father’s Day is quickly approaching, so I decided to try Maja Design’s beautiful Vintage Romance collection in a more masculine theme.

My husband enjoys restoring vintage automobiles, making this paper collection absolutely perfect for his card! The papers are distressed, layered, and stitched to form a base. The vintage gentlemen and automobile embellishments are fussy cut from the paper collection.

I stamped a couple of Tim Holtz sentiments along the edges. The gears are die cut and embossed with Frantage Chunky Metal embossing powder. The Tim Holtz metal clocks are aged with gesso and rusting powder. A few scattered Tim Holtz metal elements and a bow add the finishing touches. You’ll find a couple more close ups below.

Hello! I wish a warm welcome to all visitors here at the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, sharing my ‘Garden Gate’ card. I’m completely in love with Maja Design’s beautiful new paper collection, Vintage Romance. I’m featuring it today along with the lovely Vintage Autumn Basics collection.

You’ll find quite a bit of layering and fussy cutting in this card. All of the embellishments except the chipboard gates are created from the design paper. The faux brick wall is courtesy of Gabrielle Pollacco’s Tuscan Wall stencil and crackle texture paste.

The flowers are handcrafted from design paper and a Sizzix die using glass pearls as a center. You’ll find natural twine and cheesecloth accents for a soft, whimsical touch.

Below are close ups of the layering and embellishments. Each layer is popped up with foam adhesive for a dimensional effect.

Hello and welcome! I hope you’re having a lovely day. It’s Nancy here, sharing my ‘Love is in the Air’ card. It features Maja Design’s recently released paper collection, Vintage Romance! I discovered that Vintage Romance partners perfectly with Vintage Autumn Basics and Vintage Summer Basics, so I couldn’t resist using all three collections in my card.

Three layers of design paper are distressed, layered, and stitched in the usual fashion to form the base of the card. Now the real fun begins! Die cutting and fussy cutting are combined to create embellishments for this romantic garden. All of the elements are popped up with foam tape for a dimensional effect. The photos below give a peek into the layering.

Hello! I wish everyone a warm welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here on this beautiful Tuesday. Today’s card is inspired by my sweet mom’s favorite hymn, ‘In the Garden’.  When I imagine her in heaven I always see her surrounded by beautiful flowers, and Maja Design’s Enjoying the Outdoors paper collection brought the garden in my mind’s eye to life.

Several design papers are layered, distressed, and stitched to form a base for the card. A center circle is cut to reveal this peaceful garden retreat.

The photos above and below give you a peek at the layering. The floral bouquet on the right is fussy cut from the paper collection.

Hello and happy Tuesday! I wish a warm welcome to all of our crafty friends! It’s Nancy today, and I’m back a little sooner than usual. I know… It seems like I was just here on Sunday-lol!

Today’s project features Maja Design’s Vintage Summer Basics collection. The little girl in the image below (found in the paper collection) recalls memories of the sun-drenched days of summer in our tiny midwestern town. My mom’s garden overflowing with fragrant blooms. Bare feet and soft, cool grass. Playing outdoors all day with friends, being called in for lunch, then right back out to play again. As the sun went down we’d play ‘kick the can’ and catch lightening bugs. There was always a pitcher of Kool Aid in the fridge and popsicles in the freezer. These gorgeous papers carry me right back to those carefree days.

Multiple layers of design paper are distressed, layered, and stitched for the base of the card. Additional layers are rolled back to reveal a cheery floral pattern and add dimension. A couple lengths of lace from my stash anchored with vintage button lend a cozy feel. The photo below gives a closer look at two of the images in the paper collection.  There’s an entire 12 x 12 sheet of vintage images. Imagine the possibilities!

A tumbling bouquet of flowers, rose leaves, and tendrils provide a cheery focal point. I experimented with adding touches of Golden Fiber Paste to the florals, but it doesn’t show up well in the photos.
