Hello Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today 🙂
If you’re a paper freak like me, you won’t just throw away even a small scrap of paper even if you have a thousand sheets (and you know I have, you’ve seen my room 😉 ). Today I’d like to show you my favourite way of using up those bits to create fun cards – the patchwork background! 🙂
All you need are punches or dies – I use mostly squares, rectangles and triangles – and bits of papers 🙂
Then take a piece of cardstock trimmed to the size you need and arrange your pieces – I always start from the middle and go sidewards, glueing them down as I go, then turn the paper over and cut off all the ends that stand out.
…just take your pieces of papers and arrange them on a larger piece:
Or you can go a little more complicated:
…arranging your rectangular pieces into a floor-like design:
You can use large or small pieces…
…arranging them just any way you like! Here I put them diagonally:
If you like, you can also sew the pieces through to get a really nice fabric-like look:
Patchwork gives you so much opportunities and so much fun! And you can use really tiny scraps, combine patterns from many collections and create your own custom patterned background 🙂
Maja Design papers: scraps of various sheets from the Vintage Frost Basics, Vintage Summer Basics, Ska Vi Ta En Fika? and Life by the Sea collections.
Other: punches: Woodware; stamps: Lemonade; badge: 3rd Eye; flowers, lace, ribbon – from my stash.
See you later! 🙂
