Good morning, Maja friends, welcome to the blog today 🙂

Last time I shared my first layout(s) using the fabulous Denim&Friends collection, and I said I couldn’t stop cutting 😉

Masculine projects are usually difficult, even if you’re surrounded by boys 😉 But with this collection is just pure pleasure! Not only do you get a dozen of beautiful “masculine” patterns, but also a sheet full of men in jeans! 😉 I used two of those images to make two birthday cards for men. The first one is for a musician:

I layered several patterns in the background and added linen ribbon before I placed a guitar man image. Then I added screw-shaped brads and a music notes paper clip that can be detached and used for keeping music sheets together 🙂

I die-cut the sentiment and matted it with glitter cardstock, then added a piece of signature strip from one of the papers:

The other card is an 18-th birthday card:

I again layered some various patterns and placed the image on top, adding a metal charm on a piece of linen string. Then I added die-cut digits and some metal pointers:

I used the same die for the sentiment, but this time I didn’t mat it and it’s readable through the contrast between papers:

I am really pleased with the result – what do you think?

Hello our blog fans. Have you seen the new collections ?. “Denim&Friends” with new Monochromes are great! They are so universal – I have so many ideas to use them for. My today’s inspiration is a masculine card.

It is a card for a nice young gentleman. From this papers you can create easily the masculine cards, albums etc.

I love layers … like you could already seen many times. I like to use a small details. Cut them and combine together.

Let me know what do you think about my project, please. Hope you will like it. If you already created any project with these gorgeous papers – let me know please 🙂 I will drop by and take a look.

Hi there! Here comes a card I have made with the wonderful new papers from the Denim & Friends Collection.

Even if they are a bit masculine, you can easily use them for cuter cards:)

The image is from Magnolia’s Denim Collection and is coloured with Distress Ink.

by Maja Design called, Denim & Friends and the coordinating set of solids called Maja Design – Monochrome Collection Shades of Denim & Friends . This collection has something for everyone; masculine, feminine, playful, fun. PLUS their new solid monochrome collection designed to accompany the Denim & Friends collection perfectly.

I decided to play it fun and flirty with this card by adding a delicate die from Spellbinders and some gorgeous flowers. The flowers help make the blue tones in the collection pop.

These are the papers I am using from the Denim & Friends collection:

“Floral” both A and B sides of the paper (front and back)

“Summer Shirt”

And I used Mono-Denim Blue from the Monochromatic collection – Shades of Denim.

Just a gorgeous collection and a “must have” addition to your paper supplies.

Mood Board challenge for July & August

Dearest Maja fans,

It’s summertime here in Sweden, and the new mood board really reflects just that – happiness and vacation time. ♥
As we use to do this time of year (as we ourselves like to have a bit of vacation during the short, Swedish summer) – is to combine July and August in to one mood board challenge. This means that you have twice as much time to create your project and send it to us.

Are you curious? 🙂 You don’t have to be anymore;

This is how we use the mood boards:

[a board used by designers on which samples of various colours and textures are mounted to help in deciding which elements complement each other]

We are using mood boards for our challenges. We truly believe in creativity and art at Maja Design. You are free to interpret the mood boards in any way you’d like. They are supposed to set you in an inspirational mood without too much controlling. We would like you to be inspired by the poems, words and photos. They are not given rules, they are just there as inspiration. However – we highly recommend you to follow the theme.. Feel free to use any Maja papers you’d like as long as they follow the colour scheme.

We will pick a winner and present it here on the blog August 28th.

Have in mind that these challenges are a really great way for us to discover new talents and maybe some future Creative Team members…

How to participate?

♥ Create anything you’ll like – a layout, a card, something altered or maybe a canvas. Use Maja papers primarily! Take a nice picture of it and send it to moodboard@majadesign.nu. We also need to know your full name, address and a phone number. Please specify what collection you would like to win, if you are the lucky one. We will also want to know if you would like it in the size 12*12 or 6*6. Please send us the pictures in the size of 800 pixels on the width. We would be so grateful if you also could change the file name of the photo to your first and last name including your country.

♥ Feel free to send us more than one picture, from different angles or some close-ups – or why not more than one project?

♥ Publish the project/s on your blog (or/and any social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) with a link to our site. Please also add the image of the mood board.

♥ Feel free to combine your entry with other challenges.

♥ The winner will be revealed the last Monday each month, at the Maja blog. The winner will be sent one collection by their choice, and also a digital Winner’s Badge to use and brag with.

We need your creation by August 24th at the latest.
