Hello and welcome back to the home of Maja Designs. Tina Ollett back with you today to share my first layout using the gorgeous new collection of “Denim and Friends”.

This project has been titled

“You are Awesome”……

2017-07-18 You are awesome 019 (1024x1016)

Opening my box of goodies from the lovely ladies at Maja Designs was a definite hightlight of my week. My squeals of pure joy and excitement brought a number of my family members walking down to the art room to find out exactly what was going on.

Doing pretty layouts with copious amounts of flowers and embellishments is my go to thing for most projects, but today because this is mainly a masculine paper collection, I have opted to use a photo of my son who is quite happy not to be the centre of attention ever especially in my scrapbooking, but today it is! I captured this photo of him a number of years ago whilst we were on holidays at the Great Barrier Reef. We were on our way out to the reef on a very windy day and he was so very excited to be going snorkeling. The photo says it all.

I decided to keep this layout very simple with layering of all this fabulous collection. Of course I love to use woodgrain patterns to custom make the design for my chipboards and photo to sit. I used 2 sheets of Wood to create this using the first for the background page.

I have also added in the bs of Leather ( I also love polkadots) as a square frame to sit all of the cut wood to sit upon. And over this I have cut sections of Stonewashed to lay over this. My photo is also matted with Stonewashed.

I have also used sheets of papers from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection, cutting some of the hot air balloons for embellishments to add to my project.

I have also used lots of yummy Dusty Attic chipboards to emphasise my photo. These were inked and painted and layered amongst the layers of papers to allow more dimension to my layout.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Remember to return tomorrow for another Design Team creation. Until then take care and happy crafting. xxx

Hi there! Here comes a card I have made with the wonderful new papers from the Denim & Friends Collection.

Even if they are a bit masculine, you can easily use them for cuter cards:)

The image is from Magnolia’s Denim Collection and is coloured with Distress Ink.

I have added several layers with papers which you can see here.

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a layout featuring the new paper collection Denim and Friends. I chose a photo I’ve taken during my trip to Porto of the Rabelos, the traditional boats of the Douro.

Rabelos by Pascale B.

As usual, I primed the background with clear gesso. I added a design with clear embossing powder and a stamp. Then I added another design with a stencil and the Platinum crackle paste. I let dry naturally.

Rabelosby Pascale B.

I die-cut a few branches in a watercolor paper that I painted with a brown Twinkling H2O. I also cut a few papers to add under the photo.

When the crackle paste was dry, I colored the background with different Twinkling H2Os.

I glued some mesh that looks like a fishnet, as well as flowers and seashells. I added a few chipboard that I colored with metallic waxes.

To finish the layout I added some Art Stones.

Hello, I'm Pascale B. from France. Since I began to scrap, flowers are part of my layouts, and I gradually started to use mixed media as well. I don’t know how to define my style, perhaps something like free vintage shabby style could be a good definition. Visit me at www.pbhobby.blogspot.com

Goodmorning to you lovely Maja Design Fans,

Oh boy when Monday the new collection came to my doorstep, I so badly wanted to dig in and create but I had to wait until yesterday to do so due to work. Sometimes I wish that I could create all day and that it is my job to do so….a girl can dream right? Denim & Friends is such a wonderful collection and it has some new designs and more of a masculine rusty feel to it that I am in l.o.v.e. For this layout I used another picture of Camilla her daugthers Tyra & Freja {cuties} I totally love how they smile on this picture and the cloths they are wearing totally fits this collection. That is why the title of my layout is “All Smiles”. I attempted to use all elements that would fit with jeans like buttons, a belt and by tearing and fading the papers.

Don’t you just love the woodgrain paper <3 it’s so gorgeous. Last Monday when I was happy that my DT box came in, another thing happened “my phone” died on me and as I always take pictures of my DT work with my phone you could have imagine how upset I was when that happened. Now I have to take pictures with my old phone and it is not doing my work any justice hopefully I will have my phone back in about 20 day’s {so very long grrr}

The chipboard I used are by The Dusty Attic and I also added some new flower ranges by 49 and Market as well as their beautiful stamps designed by Gabrielle Pollacco {YOU ROCK GIRL} I also added some of her new stencils to the background sheet to give my layout more demension.

The leaves you see are firstly stamped on the monochromes papers then cut out and inked so I could place them in the flower clusters. First I gessod the chipboard pieces and then treated them with acrylic paint and added a layer of glossy accents to make it shine a little that is what I also did with the phrase on the picture.
