Hi everyone! Today I am back with an easel card. I have used one of my favorite collections for my card, the Denim & Friends collection. The card was made for a colour challenge at the Norwegian card magazine Ett Trykk, with the colours mint and turquoise. I tried to find some suitable Maja papers to fit the challenge.

The cute image is from Magnolia and the Denim Collection, and I have coloured it with Distress Ink, re-inkers and Markers. The dies used are also from Magnolia.

The texts are from Ett Trykk.

Under you can view the card from the side. I made it for my friend’s 40th anniversary.

I have made the flowers myself. I have placed them both on the upper part of the card, and on the lower part. So when it is open, it looks like the flowers are together in a way.

Want to see how they are made? Here I have some photos from the making.

I lay the flowers down on a newspaper, and spray them with water (the flower dies are from Magnolia).

Then I curl them up, and let them to dry.

When they are dry, I curl them up again, and place them together with some Wild Orchid Crafts stamens in the middle. Here comes a list of papers used:

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja Blog!

With love,

Camilla

I wish a happy hello to all of the wonderful friends of Maja Design! It’s Nancy back with you today, and I’m up to my ears in snowflakes! Not the cold kind that you sled in, because we don’t get snow where I live, but the frilly and frosty paper ones that I make every year around this time for my Christmas cards. I start early with my cards because time seems to fly during November and December, and I’m also childishly excited over the Christmas holiday.

I never use anything but Maja Design papers for my snowflakes. It stays intact despite the delicate nature of the die cuts, and is perfect for layering into these dimensional flakes. For this first card of the season I’ve chosen the fabulous Vintage Frost Basics Collection.

The base of the card is formed as usual, by distressing, layering, and stitching the design papers. I’m sticking with just two colors this time around, because soft blues and whites create a wonderful chilly feeling when used together.

There are no flowers this time (which rarely happens for me), but instead an arrangement of layered snowflakes topped off with a bit of white sand texture paste for a truly frosty finish. Icy branches and tiny snowballs enhance the frozen effect.

A little bow graces the corner, simply because I love them and feel like nothing is finished without one.

Jennifer Snyder here to share a joyous winter card featuring the gorgeous holiday/winter collection from Maja Design, “Joyous Winterdays”.

This collection, shown below, is a perfect Holiday/Winter combo with the warm traditional Christmas colors paired the blues and creams for those winter day projects.  This means you have a holiday collection that you can continue to use well past Christmas.  Actually all Maja Design papers have patterns that can be used year round.  This helps make your paper investment such a wise option.
The Joyous Winterdays papers used on this card are:
Blizzard
Chilly (B-side)
I am absolutely in love with the delicate designs of the papers, especially the one called “Chilly”.
You can clearly see this pattern and color isn’t limiting in terms of season.

I paired these papers with some new dies and stamps from Spellbinders -Hannah Elise Layering Frame and the Spellbinders Snowflakes Holidays die and stamp set.  I’d say it’s a perfect match.

I can’t begin to tell you how much joy this collection brings me.  I love each and every sheet.  Because so many of us tend to hoard the paper we adore instead of actually using the papers, one might ask, if I love the paper so much, how can I possibly CUT IT UP???
Well friends, papers and cards and your lovely projects are meant to be shared.  If the Maja collections bring a smile to your face while creating with them, imagine how they will truly light up the face of someone you love when they receive your card or project.
So go ahead – CUT those papers.  Use those papers.  Share those papers.  That’s how we show our love for Maja Design.
You can shop for Maja Design paper collections using the Store Finder link found here.
You can see the entire Joyous Winterdays collection here.
Thanks for sharing a piece of your day.  Jennifer-sign

Layout

Hello my dear friends!!!

It’s Mary here with you today and I have a new layout to share with you.

A Christmassy page this time, as the Christmas season is finally near us, my friends. Oh, I love so much this season and I’m already feeling festive. And the new gorgeous Christmas collection ”Joyous Winterdays”, that I received a few days ago, have strengthened my festive feeling alot!

1

As you may already know, I love finding my photos on Pinterest and this time, while I was searching I found that beautiful wintery photo. So, I choose two papers that was matching perfectly and combined them with some beautiful flowers, a few Christmas chipboards and Christmas embellishments. But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ”unknown” photographer.

2

For my background, I used the ”Pick a Tree” paper and made a layer on it with the ”Glisten” paper. First, I gave my background a coat of clear gesso. When it was dried, I added some texture with modeling paste and a stencil. I continued by coloring my page with Lindy’s sprays ”Green with Envy Green”, and ”Grab a Guy Gold”.

4

I heat embossed all the chipboards with the ”Tannenbaum Green Gold” Lindy’s embossing powder. As usual all the chipboards I used are 2crafty.

5

When everything was glued down, I used snowflake paste here and there with a paintbrush to add a real snow effect to my pagect and made some splatters with white acrylic artists ink.

That’s all for today, my friends!

Thank you for stopping by!

Welcome dear Maja friends!

Kerstin here, I’m the new guy and I’m coming more often now 😉

Today I want to share with you a new winter layout.

Winter is around the corner, fields and meadows are frozen, nature lies down to rest. The best time for creating or?! 🙂

I have created a very magical mixed media layout.

Magic Moments - Joyous Winterdays

I used the amazing Maja Design ‘Joyous Winterday’ collection – Sparkle + Blizzard

and some stamps (border, stars, saying), corrugated cardboard, cutting dies (deers, trees, stars, snowflakes, Holiday greens – Sizzix), chipboards – Scrap FX, pinecones, feather and flowers.

Joyous-Winterdays-P946-Blizzard943-Sparkle-bs

I  start my backgrounds with a thin clear gesso layer to be able to create a nice watercolour effect on my paper. The picture is always my eye -catching focal point.

some close up’s

I love to work with corrugated cardstock for a nature feeling and I’m always a big fan of cutting dies, so many possibilities, not only for cards, it’s also a wonderful addition for layouts or out off the page projects. The very good quality of Maja papers is perfect for that technique.

IMG_3914

a piece of fell gift ribbon for a cozy feeling, some deers with cutting die and a leftover from a structure wallpaper

IMG_3915a

all Maja papers are printed on both sides, that’s very useful, so you can make special effects, the lower star  looks like patchwork

 Many thanks for your visit!

Have a nice weekend!
