Welcome dear Maja friends!

Kerstin here, I’m the new guy and I’m coming more often now ūüėČ

Today I want to share with you a new winter layout.

Winter is around the corner, fields and meadows are frozen, nature lies down to rest. The best time for creating or?! :-)

I have created a very magical mixed media layout.

Magic Moments - Joyous Winterdays

¬†I used the amazing Maja Design ‘Joyous Winterday’ collection – Sparkle + Blizzard

and some stamps (border, stars, saying), corrugated cardboard, cutting dies (deers, trees, stars, snowflakes, Holiday greens – Sizzix), chipboards – Scrap FX, pinecones, feather and flowers.

I  start my backgrounds with a thin clear gesso layer to be able to create a nice watercolour effect on my paper. The picture is always my eye -catching focal point.

some close up’s

I love to work with corrugated cardstock for a nature feeling and I’m always a big fan of cutting dies, so many possibilities, not only for cards, it’s also a wonderful addition for layouts or out off the page projects. The very good quality of Maja papers is perfect for that technique.

a piece of fell gift ribbon for a cozy feeling, some deers with cutting die and a leftover from a structure wallpaper

all Maja papers are printed on both sides, that’s very useful, so you can make special effects, the lower star¬† looks like patchwork

 Many thanks for your visit!

Have a nice weekend!

Some winter inspiration!

Here is a paper bag I have decorated with gorgeous papers from the collection I wish.

Only days ago I came back from a holiday in beautiful Croatia! I stayed in a beautiful small village called Cavtat, just outside the city Dubrovnik. I was told that the people in Dubrovnik first settled down in Cavtat, before they had to escape and settled down in Dubrovnik. I guess thats why they built that fantastic city wall -to keep the enemies away. In Croatia it was still Summer, and blue sky every day! Inspite of that I manage to get the flu and sinusitis. Luckily this happened the day before we went home, so I really enjoyed my time there.

But because of all this, I had no new card to show you. This paper bag was published in the magazine Ett Trykk last February. But I have saved it for the blogs when it was time to show some winter/Christmassy inspirations. I have made it to show my style of crafting.

The image from Magnolia is coloured with Distress Ink, re-inkers.

I have decorated with different types of flowers, cheese cloth, wycinanka, die cuts and pearls.

I have added some Frantage around the image, which is matching the colours of the papers perfectly. The edges are sewed with my sewing machine.

Thank you so much for visiting the Maja Design blog today!

With love,

Sittin’ here holding a snowflake

Hi there! How are you? I really hope you are having a lovely holiday. I know this time of year can be sad for many, often because the ones they have dear are not here anymore. I really miss my mother who passed away three years ago, especially at this time of year. She loved everything about Christmas, and mostly because she could bring the family together. I think that is an important thing I have learned from her, and that I can be better at. Just to spend time with family and loved ones. But I am not that good cook that she was :)

Some nights ago I went to my friend Audhild, and we sat down colouring together with two other friends. It was so nice. And even if I sat there for hours, this image was the only one I had time to colour. I really love the blue and brown colours in the “Home for the holidays” collection. And felt it was perfect for little Tilda here (Tilda with sock puffs).

I made some poststamps with the sheet called “Love the snow” and a die from Magnolia (Vintage Box, 3rd edition). The little snowmen are really cute.

The snowflake and the stars are from a banner from Wycinanka. If you look closely on the card you can see that I have tore the paper and put a lace and some more papers inside. But as always I decorate too much, so that it is difficult to spot what I had planned to show you :)

Here in the west part of Norway we haven’t had snow yet. I am longing for some snow now, not only rain. We have had the extreme weather Urd howling around our house. But luckely it was not strong enough to make any damage around here.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card today. Wish you a lovely day. And since I will be in the Maja Design Creative Team for another year (Yay, soooo proud! A big thanks to Camilla and Marie for having me!), I will be making a new post in two weeks.

But before I end, I will show you the papers I have used for my project:

Big warm Christmas hugs from,

Hi lovely friends,

I can’t believe 2016 is almost over but 2017 is going to be a wonderful scrappy year for me as well….if you want to know more you could visit my blog and see. For today’s post I used the pretty new “I Wish”collection and made a layout with a winter touch and picture of our handsome boy way back in time. As much as I love making winter projects layout’s, cards and such I don’t like the cold at all and always wonder how it would be if I was born in a warm country. I find snow very peaceful although I dislike the mess it makes when melting…..for this layout I took out my favorite Martha Steward around the corner punch and lifted the corners so that the middle part didn’t look so high!

What I really do like about Maja Design papers are the extra borders you get on each sheet….on this layout I used two of them to accent my layout! They are a great pieces of extra to compliment your work. On the background sheet I added some paste, spray, snow and stamps also all the chippies are by Dusty Attic which are treated with paint, embossing powder and snow. The edges of my layout are of course distressed and stitched.

Lately I am hoarding straws {kind of a new fetish for me lol} I love to use them on my layout.¬†Did you ever use straws?? If so I would love to see your work or maybe you could enter this months challenge…..I really love this months mood board. I just love the fact that you could win a whole collection of your choice awesome right?

Maja Design papers used I wish:¬†I wish to build a snowman,¬†I wish you a Happy Holiday bs,¬†I wish to play in the snow from the 6×6 paper pad,¬†I wish for a holly jolly Christmas bs and¬†I wish you lots of love and happiness bs.

Thanks for being here today I sure hope I inspired you today to do some crafting during the weekend. Hubby and I are going to enjoy our little get away this Saturday! We won two tickets for Nick & Simon {two dutch singers} yeahhh. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I wish there would be Spring and Fall Seasons all year round, however in some cases Winter is beautiful too.

I wish I could spend all 3 months in a wooden house in the Forest, however I live in a busy city.

So my mini album is all about my small wishes and I enjoyed creating it.

I cut out some of the images, added crochet and fabric trims to make it look more cozy and soft.

I also added a rotating element, when there is some intercative things in my albums.
