Ohhhh….I really need some hugs!
Feeling a bit sad….. One week ago my youngest daughter left home to study in the States.
She will be gone for almost 7(!!) months!! I’m extremely proud of her but I think all moms can imagine how I’m feeling right now….
So today I have a tissue box to share with you all.
Think I will be needing those tissues a lot!!!! 🙂

Made this box with the Crea Diem collection.

I tore up some bits of papers and glued them on the box.
I made a mix of gesso and micro beads and glass filler, and applied it randomly.
Wanted to create a bit of a wintery effect.

Had this cute little house in my stash for awhile and I thought it would be perfect for this box.

Added some flowers, gauze, beads and chipboard (Dusty Attic) to create a little scenery.

Cut out the clocks from the -den oersattliga tiden- sheet.

Creating some lovely texture with the papers and the mixed gesso.

Papers used:

Kann dig sjalv
Sa lange jag lever
Ord flyger bort
Skapa dagen
Den oersattliga tiden

It’s been a long time since a made a canvas/layout.
Made this one for my youngest daughter, Yiscka
with the beautiful Crea Diem collection from Maja design.
The closer the date of Yiscka’s leaving to the States, the more sentimental I become!! 🙂
She had to take some photo’s for all the legal documents, not her usually sunny self and she really hates this one, but he…..thought it was a beautiful photo anyway and had to be scrapped!
(note: she forgave me for using it! LOL)

-Time to fly-
Go where you need to.
Explore the world.
Live your life but always
remember your way home.

I started this layout with layering some cut out strips from the Crea Diem collection.

Created the background with modeling paste and a clock template.
Used the fushia color from Shimmerz paints and some black acrylic paint.
The gorgeous butterfly is from Scrap-Unlimited and got two coats of gesso before randomly painted with the fushia. Added some pearls on the butterfly.

Lovely -home- resin from Prima.

Ab imo pectore = with all my heart / uit de grond van mijn hart
A piece of the bottom strip.

I wanted to add some extra color for more contrast and choose some lime colored touches in the flowers and pearls. The chipboard frame is from Dusty Attic and the painted twigs are from 13Arts.

Some extra touches with gesso.

I used the following papers:
Ord flyger bort
Den oersattliga tiden
Fylld av karlek (+bottom strip)

Today I proudly present Maja Designs new baby: the “Gift for you” collection.
What better way to show this new ‘baby’ by altering this carriage!!!
Took me quite some time and lots of work but I’m very pleased how it turned out!
Lot of my work already found a new home but my girls insisted that I kept this one! 🙂

At first I started to paint the carriage as the original color was an ugly brown color.
Took me quite some layers of gesso to lighten it.
Can’t live without gesso! LOL

Added some turquoise touches so it matches my living room.
The base of the carriage was made using the ‘wrapped in old newspaper’ sheet.

Made the blanket with the ‘from someone special’ and ‘wrapped in old newspaper’ sheet.
The edges of the carriage is the border strip from the ‘ handwritten Post Card’ sheet.

The paper blanket with lace and a piece of a flower trim.
Added a small bear charm, isn’t he cute?!!

Painted the metal pieces of the carriage with some metal paint.

The front side.
Punched some flowers from the ‘wrapped in old newspaper’ sheet.
Distressed the edges and glued them on both sides.

A lovely bow of turquoise ribbon on the back.

Took me some time to make the top of the carriage.
Cut out some small strips of the ‘hope to see you soon’ sheet and distressed all the edges.
Some inking on the sides to get an older look.

Added some beautiful lace on the small strips.

A lovely flower accent on the top.

The wheels were also painted with the metal paint.

Although this is a Chrismas collection, these papers can be used for non-traditional projects as well!!

Papers used:
Hope to see you soon
Wrapped in old newspaper
Handwritten Post Card
From someone special

Enjoy your day!

This wall hanging has already found a new home!
Made this one for a dear friend of mine.
I used the Vintage Summer Basics collection.

I started this project with a blue background and distressed the edges.
Layered some strips of patterned paper and made some texture with modeling paste.

Some modeling paste using a template from the Crafter Workshop and paint splatters.

Made the circles by using a bottle cap and some paint.

A lovely metal bird cage.

A flower arrangement with handmade thread flowers and painted flowers and mini roses.

This gorgeous metal butterfly was found at a home decor store.
It was part of a long string with different sizes of butterflies and leaves.
The little metal butterfly comes from my stash.

This metal leave was a part of the string also.

The letters are from Imaginarium Design and got a layer of puffy paint.

With my girl leaving the nest for her study oversea in mind, I made these two suitcases.
She is on a journey to explore the world!!

I used the Vintage Autumn and Vintage Summer collection for this project.

I first started to paint the suitcases with watered ink.
The bleu paper is from the Summer collection, 1921 and
The brown paper is from the Autumn collection, No. VIII.
Distressed all the edges.
The metal embellishments are from Prima.

Group of different flowers:
The big white one is from 13Arts, the blue tulle one from Prima,
the lace one I found online and the small roses (which were white)
were painted with Shimmerz coloringz, Mama sings the Blues.

I cut the air balloon from the No.XIV sheet.

And a piece of an old neck lace for an extra touch.

The butterfly and the gears chipboard are from a Dutch online store, Scrap-Unlimited.
The butterfly got 2 coats of gesso and was a bit overheated  for a more textured effect.
The tiny fleur de lis is chipboard from Dusty Attic.

The gears were also painted with some watered black ink.

I punched some flowers from the No.VIII sheet and distressed the edges.

Top view.

No. VIII and No. XIV
