Hello Sweeties,

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout featuring the Denim and Friends collection. I chose a photomontage I made inspired by the painting ” Evening Falls ” by Magritte.

The Broken Window by Pascale B.

I primed the background with clear gesso. Then, I added some stamping with two inks and stamps. Next, I added a design with a clear crackle paste and a stencil.

While the crackle paste was drying, I colored some chipboards with different inks. I colored the flowers with a silver ink.

I printed the title on a photo paper and I used the same inks to alter it. Then I glued all the embellishments with a 3D gel.

To finish the layout, I added some glass glitter and microbeads.

Hello Sweeties,

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout featuring the Denim and Friends collection. I chose to work with a photo of a carrelet: a typical fishing cabin that can be found in the Gironde’s estuary.

I painted the back of a stencil with different acrylic paints. When happy with the result, I put the stencil on the background and I added immediately some heavy gesso through it. The paint showed through the heavy gesso.

While the background was drying, I colored some moss with a brown ink and some seeds with different acrilyc paints.

I die cut some leaves in a watercolor paper. I colored some of them with a brown ink and the others with the same acrylic paints I used on the background.

I cut a piece of burlap and a paper to add under the photo. And I glued all the embellishments with a 3D gel.

To finish the layout, I added some Art stone that I colored with a grey ink.

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout featuring the Home for Holidays collection. I chose one of my photomontages.

The Bermuda Triangle by Pascale B.

I started to stamp some leaves and some text with different Archival inks. When happy with the result, I primed the background with clear gesso. Next, I added a design with a stencil and clear crackle paste. I let dry.

In the meantime, I covered the shells with white crackle paste. I primed the boat with white gesso, then with clear gesso, and finally, I was able to add some colors.

With the same inks, I colored some Art Stones as well as natural moss.

I added some shine to the flowers with inks. And when the shells were dry, I primed them with clear gesso before coloring them too.

As the background was dry, so I added some colors with the same inks I have used to color the different embellishments.

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new set of cards featuring one of my favorite collection Enjoying Outdoors.

Lavender Card by Pascale B.

Making cards is a good way to get rid of all the leftovers of papers you have accumulated over the past months or should I say years. I don’t know how you keep them, but I found that keeping them in a pocket with the collection is the best way to use them. When I was first starting scrapbooking I put all the leftovers together, but when I wanted one, well, I never found the right one! Now I know that if I don’t find it, it’s because I don’t have it and I will have to cut some beautiful paper! Let see how I made these cards!

Lavender Card by Pascale B.

Even if both cards look different, the way I made them is the same. First, I chose in my leftover from the Enjoying Outdoors collection, which one I could use. When I didn’t find the right one, My next move is to look in the 6×6 paper pad.

When I found all the scraps of paper I needed, I inked the edges to add some contrast before gluing them directly to the card base.

I die cut some leaves in two green papers from the collection and I inked the edges.

Then I added a few flowers.

On this card, I even added some lavender sprigs from my garden. To prevent them from falling apart when they dried, I covered them with gel medium.

And to finish the layout of the cards I added some microbeads.

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a new layout featuring the Denim and Friend collection. I chose another photo montage I’ve made. Oh I completely forgot to tell you that we have been specially sponsored by Petaloo by FloraCraft this week.

The Duncaire Sperm Whale by Pascale B.

As usual, I primed the background with clear gesso. I mixed some Magical powder with 3D Glos gel to obtain a teal paste. I used this paste with a stencil to add a design on the background.

While the background was drying I colored some chipboard with different waxes. I cut some leaves in a watercolor paper that I painted with different inks.

I added some colors to the background that match the colors of the photomontage.

I cut a few paper to add under the photo and I glued some beautiful flowers from Petaloo along with the leaves I’ve die-cut.
