Garden Plant Combo 2015

Hello,today I am here to share with you a LO I did, using photos, of some of my favorite plants, I use in my garden. The color of our home is in the rust tones, so that is why I go with the rusty orange tones with purples. Last week we just finished putting the garden to rest for the winter, so now I guess, I will be spending a lot more time Scrapbooking….

I used: Beautiful Trees-BS, Garden Creatures, Garden notes, Scent of Lavender, Time for reflection, Colourful,Tags & journaling cards

I used: Mountain Ash-BS

Chipboard used is from Dusty Attic

Shows distressed paper layers, that I inked the edges. I also did some hand stitching. On the film strip I used Dusty Attic rusting powder (this is pretty close to the color of our home). I first painted the leafy scroll with clear crackle, then played with LuminArt H2O’s to add the color. The tiny roses are I am Roses….

I used the journaling tags for the title….

The first,2nd, plus the 5th photo used in the film strip are of ,Petunia Autumn Mystery. It is a new plant out for 2015,& I love how every flower is different on this plant going from the purple to orange tones.

I also use lots of purple fountain grass, I love it when the sun is behind it, & how it moves with a breeze. Another fav is Coleus Sedona, because of the rust color that has a purple hue in it.

With having the garden at rest, I also spent many hours on planning the garden for 2016, & I am looking forward to the changes that I have made.

My last post I did a photo tut on the easel card. I scanned the chipboard used on both cards, printed it on regular paper, attached that to the Maja papers, using a non permanent, sticky tape. I then cut out the pieces, inked the edges & glued them onto the chipboard.

I used from the Vintage Baby:I used:expecting, flowers for mum,flowers for mum-BS, It’s a girl, It’s a girl-bs, Baby Shower-BS,our little miracle, Die cuts & BS’s of labels

Hello, today,I am back with my first post, for Maja Design after taking a 6 month break to work in my garden. Wow,time fly’s!!! I have a few projects here to share with you,one is a easel card,that I did a Tut,with photo’s. This is a card I made using the “new” Enjoying Outdoors Collection.I used from the 6×6 paper pad:Singing in the rain, Singing in the rain-BS, Feeling good, Colourful, Harvest Time, Beautiful Trees BS, What a beautiful day, Tags & journaling cards, The 12×12 sheets used: Garden Moments, Colorful,Colorful-BS

The Dusty Attic used: Leafy Frame set #2,Hello todayI pretty much did the same to this card,as I did with the card below, only this card is not a easel…

Here is my next card with a step by step photo tut……….I used:Enjoying the Moments,Enjoying the Moment-BS, Raspberry cupcake, Raspberry cupcake-BS, Grandma’s old porcelain, Grandma’s old porcelain-BS, Raspberry jam cupcakes, Raspberry Lemonade,Delicious Moments &Labels

The Dusty Attic used: Foliage #2, Hashtag sayings

Flowers are I am Roses & Berry stems are Petaloo Here is a photo tut I did, as to how, I made this card…..bottom layer ,using Raspberry jam cupcakes, measures 6×9’1/2I distressed the edgesThe first layer,using Grandmas old porcelain, I did some punch work using my favorite Martha Stewart punch, the inked the edges with a brown ink pad… added 2 more layers, Enjoying the moments &Grandmas old porcelain…..using a paper pierce, I pierce holes, for my next step,hand stitching…..shows the front & BS,of the completed paper piercing….hand stitching is completed…the next 2 layers. using Raspberry cupcakes-BS & enjoying the moments, I ripped the corner on the top one, & the bottom one, I made a pocket,( so that I could enclose a note,or gift card, ect), I did some cross stitching on these layersUsing a 12×12 sheet of raspberry cupcake, it measures 10×12, I folded it in half, then the top part in half . My next step is to glue, to 2 card pieces onto the base. For the top piece, glued it onto the top part of the fold, (this is how you will get your easel) if you glue under the fold, it won’t work as a easel. I glued the bottom piece to the full half…Shows the card coming together as a easel….I am now starting to embellish, I used Dusty Attic hashtag sayings “lifeisgood” that I just painted white. I painted the Dusty Attic foliage #2 forest green,then clear crackle. Once the crackle dried I painted it with LuminArt olive vine, & moss green H2O’s to give it shimmer & to bring out the cracks….Added berry clusters from Petaloo, & roses from I am Rosesadded a little clipboard, using a piece I cut out from the sheet raspberry lemonade, then inserted it into the pocketfinal step,was to add the tagsCompleted card

The next 3 cards I used the Vintage Autumn Basics Collection On the next LO,I combined the Vintage Baby & Vintage SpringOn the next 2 LO’s I combined the Nyhavn Collection with the Vintage Autumn Basics Collection Well,you can see my garden work is not quite complete, I am waiting for a hard frost before I start on fall clean up. All the green plants “Mexican marigolds”,that are in the middle of the driveway & the front of the house are in full bud again. Depending on the weather,I could have another burst of color.I think the leaves will be off the trees, before I take out the annuals,which is rare for our climate.Closeup of one of the plants showing all the buds.

Here are some closeups of detail…On most of the chipboard I used picket fence crackle,once the crackle dried, I brushed on some brown chalk,to bring out the cracks….The rocking horse is is a die from Die-namite’s. I did lots of card stock layers,then the Maja layers…I did the same to the carriage as I did with the rocking horse….

Hello,today I am here to share with you, a LO I did, combining the Vintage Baby Collection & the Vintage Spring Basics Collection. The photo’s used, are of me, giving Sigurdur his first bath,in 1981,time flies!!! I am also going to show you, the latest LO’s I have completed for the kitchen wall….

For this LO,I used a photo of my middle son,who is now painting canvas’s,finding the creative side in him….For the red used on the chipboard ,I used my wall paint,for the red,plus I applied a coat of clear crackle varnish.

I used LuminArt’ (Jasper Red)H20 over the crackle on the chipboard. The red was still a bit to bright,so I toned with wintermist gray H20,once the red had dried. I used this on all the chipboard in these LO’s….I also inked the edges of the chipboard using a ink pad..I used distressed brushed pewter stain,paint & crackle on the rest of the chipboard.

This next LO,is of me with my sisters,I am the first one on the left,the oldest…..A LO of us girls as we got older,my Mom called us the 3 Queens,we did not like that!!!! This is a photo, of a younger,Siggi,my husband….My Mom & Dads wedding photo,with my grandparents…My middle & youngest son,when they were little…My husbands parents,wedding photo…Well, I guess that is it for today,I am hoping that, for my next post I can show you the before & after of the kitchen wall….Rachelle

Hello,today I am here to share with you, a few more LO’s I did, for our kitchen wall. I do have to say, that this task, is getting harder to do, (working with the same paper,over & over,lots of boy LO’s, & with the color tones, being the same trough out, I am finding that, I may be getting a bit repetitious,as my embellishments are limited). But as I am doing the LO’s,I am adding them to the wall, & the wall is looking amazing,so it gives me the drive to keep on going.

The first three 3 LO’s are of my nephews,the first one is of Quenton….I used Kings Square-BS,Veteran Ship-BS & Sitting on the Dock from the Nyhavn Collection. The chipboard used is from Dusty Attic.

Other products used:TCW, template, The Story 12X12, Coffee Splotch 6X6, Prima Texture Paste Graphite, & metal, Tim Holtz paints,rock candy crackle,brushed pewter crackle,paint & stain,LuminArt Jasper Red

Here are some closeups of detail….To deepen the color of Veterans Ship-BS,I painted on Tattered Angels Indian corn & rubbed in some pebbles chalk…I inked all the edges of the paper using a mixture of charcoal & grey mist,I used a brush to do this…For the red used on the chipboard ,I used my wall paint,for the red,plus I applied a coat of clear crackle varnish. I used LuminArt’ (Jasper Red)H20 over the crackle on the chipboard. The red was still a bit to bright,so I toned with wintermist gray H20,once the red had dried. I used this on all the chipboard in these LO’s….I also inked the edges of the chipboard using a ink pad..I used distressed brushed pewter stain,paint & crackle on the rest of the chipboard.

Here is my next LO,of Quentons brother Elliot…I used all the paints & metal as I did in the above LO. The Templates used are TCW, dart board 6×6,contact sheet 6×6, & Tim Holtz rulers….

My next LO is of Justin,Quinton & Elliots cousin…..The stencils used: TCW, believe 12×12, Specimens 6×6,mini screen print, 6×6, Tim Holtz rulers.

This next LO is of my Mother with her siblings,my mom is holding the baby….This is the last photo,I took of my Mom with her Siblings,before she passed away June 2013. Mom is the beautiful lady,lower right corner…The last LO,for today,me with my best friend Tenely.I am on a count down,only 16 left to go,then I can show you a before & after of the wall!!!
