Hello Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today ๐Ÿ™‚

It seems the less time I spend in the kitchen actually cooking, the more kitchen-themed projects I make – perhaps that’s some kind of compensation ๐Ÿ™‚ And so today I have a recipe book I made using A Gift For You collection:

mdrecbookI’ve always associated red with kitchen, and I think that paired with grey it makes a perfect combo, looking so “clean” and neat ๐Ÿ™‚ I also think stripes and plaid are great patterns to be used for kitchen themes ๐Ÿ™‚

mdrecbook1mdrecbook3I coloured the stamped image with Distress inks. It pefectly fits into a “frame” I made using the tag from the die-cut sheet ๐Ÿ™‚

mdrecbook2I also decorated the inside covers, using stamps and dies:

mdrecbook4Once I’ve done the recipe book, I thought of making a matching menu-notepad decor. I’ve had that wooden tea pot for ages and now its time has come! ๐Ÿ™‚

mdrecbook5First I painted the whole item with white gesso and then covered one side with blackboard paint. I hand-writtem the ornate “Menu” word and distressed the edges with strokes of the almost-dry brush:

mdrecbook6Then I added some flowers in red and grey and a white resin flourish to match it with the recipe book colour palette:

mdrecbook7The other side contains a small notepad for making shopping lists ๐Ÿ™‚

mdrecbook8I used the same ribbon, button and spoon-charm as on the recipe book ๐Ÿ™‚

mdrecbook9Don’t you think this Nyhavn paper is just perfect as the background?

mdrecbook11I didn’t use many embellishments on the tea-pot decor as I wanted it to be practical and easy for cleaning. But I think it still looks fine – what do you say? ๐Ÿ™‚

mdrecbook10Supplies:

Maja Design papers: A Gift For You: My Dear Friend, Packed by Santas Elves, Given From the Heart, Made by me, Sent with love; Nyhavn: Eating out. Maja-sign stamps: Magnolia, Tim Holtz, die: Cheery Lynn Designs; chipboard: Scrapiniec, punch: Martha Stewart.

Have a good day and see you soon!

Hello MD fans!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year with our family in Poland which resulted with plenty of photos which I can use for my projects in the coming weeks ๐Ÿ™‚

I also wanted to play by the rules of our January moodboard so I picked neutral background papers and I added colours, which perhaps are not so traditional for Christmas scene. I used Nyhavn and Vintage Summer basics collections, personally I would associate both of them with summer, but I think they worked just as great with a winter theme.

I played with the layers of filigree elements. Some of them are cut with die cuts, some are punched with border punch and I added a chipboard too. I tried to use both sides of the papers, to take a full advantage of their variety.

The flower images which you can find in different Maja Design papers and cut out, like I did with the hydrangeas here are a beautiful complement to any flower cluster or layering.

Supplies:

Maja Design :
Nyhavn – Sitting at the docks,
Nyhavn – The sunny sight
Nyhavn – Eating out
Vintage Summer Basics -1943
A Gift For You – Die cut sheet

Others : Flowers, crystals, die – Prima, Chipboard – Blue Fern Studios, border punch – Martha Stewart, watercolours – Luminarte

Thanks for spending a moment with me on Maja blog today!

Hello Sweeties,
Today I want to share with you my very first project as a member of the Maja Design DT.
IloveNY

I started with my frame. I covered it first with Gesso and used a stencil to add a design to it with heavy Gesso. When dry, I added a layer of black Gesso. I let it dry. I then dry-brushed the whole frame with white Gesso and started to add some colors with pink and silver Silks with the same dry-brush technic. I finished the frame with silver wax.

I used a punch to cut the little hydrangea. I added a little bit of glitter in the center.

The chipboard as simply been embossed with Aged Silver from Stampendous.

After embossing the butterflies, I used a stamp to give them so texture, then I colored them.

Hello Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today!

I’m so glad you dropped by today for my last post this year ๐Ÿ™‚ I have a special layout to share, featuring the youngest addition to my family – my dear cousin’s son ๐Ÿ™‚

md1stDoesn’t he look supercute in his little Santa outfit? ๐Ÿ™‚ The colours in the photo just asked for A Gift For You collection, and so I layered a couple of papers over the red cardstock and separated the pieces with punched borders:

md1st1I die-cut the letters “1st” and “2014” and used a part of the signature strip with the word “Christmas” to make the title:

md1st2md1st3For the flower cluster I die-cut some poinsettias and coloured them with glimmer mists and added a poststamp cut out from the cutouts sheet and die-cut baubles that I decorated with glitter:

md1st4Some of the elements are die-cut from glitter cardstock to add delicate shine and lightness to the page ๐Ÿ™‚

md1st5Supplies:

Maja Design papers: A Gift For You. Other: punches: Martha Stewart, Woodware; dies: Memory Box, Magnolia, Sizzix, Joy Crafts; flower: Prima; crystal gems: from my stash.

And now I’d like to wish you a fabulous party tomorrow – and see you next year ๐Ÿ™‚
