Hello Maja Fans, welcome to the blog today ๐
It seems the less time I spend in the kitchen actually cooking, the more kitchen-themed projects I make – perhaps that’s some kind of compensation ๐ And so today I have a recipe book I made using A Gift For You collection:
I’ve always associated red with kitchen, and I think that paired with grey it makes a perfect combo, looking so “clean” and neat ๐ I also think stripes and plaid are great patterns to be used for kitchen themes ๐
I coloured the stamped image with Distress inks. It pefectly fits into a “frame” I made using the tag from the die-cut sheet ๐
I also decorated the inside covers, using stamps and dies:
Once I’ve done the recipe book, I thought of making a matching menu-notepad decor. I’ve had that wooden tea pot for ages and now its time has come! ๐
First I painted the whole item with white gesso and then covered one side with blackboard paint. I hand-writtem the ornate “Menu” word and distressed the edges with strokes of the almost-dry brush:
Then I added some flowers in red and grey and a white resin flourish to match it with the recipe book colour palette:
The other side contains a small notepad for making shopping lists ๐
I used the same ribbon, button and spoon-charm as on the recipe book ๐
Don’t you think this Nyhavn paper is just perfect as the background?
I didn’t use many embellishments on the tea-pot decor as I wanted it to be practical and easy for cleaning. But I think it still looks fine – what do you say? ๐
