Hi everyone!  Gabrielle here with you today to share my latest project.  I just love pouring through my Maja Design papers and picking and choosing which designs I want to put together to make up a project!  For this page I think I dipped into quite a few collections!  For the base of the layout I used papers from the Sofiero collection, then for the fussy cut blooms and clocks I used paper from Vintage Autumn Basics.  I even used a little strip of scrap paper I had left from Vintage Summer Basics (1922-bs) the small scallop strip with white dots, and some butterflies from Vintage Spring Basics.

exploring close1

Here is a close-up of the center piece of my layout, so you can see the fussy cut blooms and clocks that I ahered with foam pop dots so that they would stand up from the page.  The chipboard frame is from Dusty Attic (Decorative Scroll #1) that I coated with Gesso, stamped and finished with a crackle varnish.

exploring close2

I did a lot of inking and spritzing for this page as well as a little bit of masking with stencils and texture paste.  I used a little bit of Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet along the bottom edge of the diagonal strip before I used a Crafters Workshop (Damask 6×6) stencil along the edge.  For Spraying I used Lindy’s ‘Clam bake Biege’ and Perfect Pearls ‘Intereference Red’ (it’s more of a pink color with lots of shimmer).

Exploring close3

I used another stencil in the top right corner (Prima Flourish 12×12) as well as lots of fun stamps, Prima Stitches Stamps, Bo Bunny Distressed stamps.  Added a little washi tape (Freckled Fawn) and added more fussy cut images from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection. (I used the rose blooms from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection rather than the roses from the Sofiero collection, which I used for the background, because the images were a little deeper in color and I thought would work better for a fussy cut bloom.

Maja Design Supplies:  Sofiero Collection (Enjoying the Fragrance-bs, Strolling Down the Rose Path-bs), Vintage Autumn Basics (No. II, No. XVI, VI-bs), Vintage Spring Basics (6th of May – fussy cut butterflies), Vintage Summer Basics (1922-bs)

Thanks for stopping by today and for the kind comments! xo xo

Hi Maja fans! Welcome to the blog this Monday! Today will be a very pink post, as I have two projects to share that I made with some of my favourite pink papers from Maja Design.

First up is a love card that I made especially for today’s post. It features the Sofiero, Vintage Spring Basics and Vintage Summer Basics collection. I made it for my boyfriend, as we use to send each other gifts or cards every 1st day of the month. 2

I did lots of layering and die-cutting on this card and used the lovely butterflies from the “Vintage Spring Basics” collection to finish it off. Aren’t these tiny little butterflies just the cutest ever? I have quite a large stash of sheets of the “6th of May” paper, to make sure I won’t run out of them.

3 Supplies:

Maja Design: patterned papers (“Vintage Spring Basics” collection: 6th of May; “Sofiero” collection: Exuberance of flowers in bloom-bs, Princess Margareta’s Garden, Royal Summer Residence; “Vintage Summer Basics” collection: Memories-bs); Prima Marketing: resin wreath, clock face; Memory Box: hearts die, doily die; My Favourite Things: doily die; Cheery Lynn: doily die; Tim Holtz: postage stamp die, distress ink; Martha Stewart: border punch; Queen & Co: pearls.4

Secondly, I have a lay-out to show that I recently made for Once Upon a Sketch. I used the gorgeous “Vintage Autumn Basics” collection to make it and choose to focus on the pink and red toned papers. Once again, I did quite a lot of layering and distressing, but I was pretty satisfied with the final look it gave.

1Supplies:
Maja Design: patterned papers (“Vintage Autumn Basics” collection: No II, No III-bs, No V, No X-bs, No XVI, No XVIII-bs, No IV, No IV-bs; “Vintage Spring Basics” collection: 6th of May); Prima Marketing: clock faces, resin fairy, resin bird; Martha Stewart: border punches; Cheery Lynn: doily die; Pink Paislee: chipboard heart; Bo Bunny: doily; Maya Road: wood buttons; Tim Holtz: distress ink; Other: clock charm, twine.

Thank you for visiting the Maja blog today! Have a wonderful week!

Hello, here is a LO I did, combining 3 of Maja’s Collections. The photos are of the Tree Fort Area, that I had planted last Spring, to go with the Maja Vintage Spring,Summer & Sofiero Collections. I planted this area with Hydrangeas, pink & white inpatients, purple fan flower, blue lobellia & some foliage that was a variegated green & white. It turned out beautiful,I am so happy that I did this!!!! I used 3 photo’s to try & show you the different views of this garden, but you really need to be in this garden to be able to see & feel what it is all about. Behind the Tree Fort is the flowing river, with a beaver dam, so you also have the sounds of the water.3ea14ae4-333a-4cee-906c-8135c03f2691_zps93081c37

These are the 3 Collections I used on this LO…..

From the Vintage Spring Basics Collection I used: 8th of March-BS, 2nd of May-BS,7th of March-BS, 10th of March & some of the BS’s of the labels.

I dipped the Vine Corner into water, then separated the chipboard (just the leaves). Then I used a heat gun & it curled up the leaves. Once that all dried I applied decadence TA to the stem & picket fence crackle to the leaves. When the crackle dried, I rubbed in brown chalk to bring out the cracks & inked the edges of the leaves….

I used my favorite, time consuming punch & did many distressed stitched layers….

I also dipped the butterflies in water, then carefully separated the chipboard layers. I used decadence TA,on the body & the under part of the butterfly, then I used liquid accents on the body. On the wings I used oyster LuminArt’

I was so excited when I got this Collection, not only because it was soooooooooo Beautiful, but it also has many colors, that are in the rest of my garden. One of my favorite plants, that I plant through out my gardens, is Angelica Gigis. It is the plant that I framed in the decorative scroll…

My Autumn Garden is planted different, then the Tree Fort Area. I would say that the Tree Fort is more feminine, then the rest of my gardens, because of using white. I do not use white in the rest of my gardens. Through out the other garden areas I use deeper colors & huge foliage plants. What are your favorite garden colors? Thank you so much for taking the time to look…..Rachelle
