A Moment Captured..-001

Hello Maja fans, thanks so much for dropping by. Today I have another new layout to share with you using some papers from the Vintage Summer Basics collection. I used the “1914” paper for my background & then added this delightful striped one from the Vintage Spring Basics called, “4th April” to both the top & bottom edges. Even though it is a different collection, I think it works great.

I have also made a handmade flower to add to my flower cluster above the photo, using the same stripe “4th April” paper. I really like adding some handmade flowers in the same papers as my layout to add extra accents to the page, plus it gives it a more custom made look I think.

I have created a mixed media background & the Maja papers are just perfect for this because they are so beautifully thick & they handle it so well without warping etc.

I have layered strips of both the “1902” & the “1904” papers underneath my photos, but unfortunately after adding lots of gesso & mists, it is a little hard to see them in the photos, but little bits of their colours & patterns peek out here & there.

All of the chipboard I have used is from 2Crafty Chipboard.

On my background I have also added lots of stamping, fibers, micro beads in both blues & silver, pearls, pearl sprays & finished of with lots of flowers.

These are the four papers I have used. Well thats all for today. I will see you back here again in two weeks time.

Hi there!

My name is Debbie and I live in the outskirts of a well known Market town, which is the gateway to the gorgeous Yorkshire Dales in the North of England. Ive been crafting one way or another all my life. I am married and Mum to a 19 year old boy and a 17 year old girl. When Im not crafting I love to spend time in the countryside with my Spaniel.

I have previously worked in the Craft Industry for 10 years, but now I just play at it. To relax I love to water colour and create using gorgeous papers.  I came across Maja Design a few years ago and have been in love ever since.

This is my project for you:

Debbie Dolphin
For my card I watercoloured a Magnolia stamp ‘Rose Cake Tilda’ with Distress ReInkers and pens. I have used a selection of Vintage Spring Basics to create my card.

Debbie
I love to use dies to create my own embellishments and here Ive used DooHickeys Celebration Cake, Flowers, Rose Leaf ,Envelope Tag and Scallopped Tag. The Oval around my image is a Spellbinders Die.

For a more Shabby Chic Vintage look I added moulding paste and white acrylic paint to the edges of the card and to the tips of the flowers.

Hope you’ll like it.

Thanks for visiting.

Goodmorning lovely viewers,

Sunny and warm days are on it’s way as summer soon will land here in Holland! Oh and how I am in need of some sunshine because I have to say I am not such a fan of winter {although the layouts made with winter pictures are wonderful} So for my 8×8 layout I used “Vintage Summer Basics”and one sheet of “Vintage Spring Basics” to get in the mood ;-). As I am also part of the Cheery Lynn Designs DT I am allowed to pick beautiful dies every month and on this layout I used two new ones that I just got last Saturday.

Why a 8×8 layout you may wonder, well that will be because they take less space in my scrap room and they are a little faster  to make {little pieces of art I always say like ATC’s} But also because everything I have to make for Cheery Lynn Designs we have to ship to them for trade show’s like CHA and then it will not take up all of their booth space.

On this layout I added a bunch of layers behind the picture and lifted them up with foam tape as I also did for the 1933 sheet from the “Vintage Summer Basics” collection. If you do that you will get more depth on your layouts. What got me inspired to make this layout well I have to say it was this months mood board that went life on the blog last Monday although I already made a layout inspired by the mood board I totally could not help myself and created another one 🙂

A 10 Maja 1

I wish you a warm welcome to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, and I have a new card to share with you today. Spring has finally arrived. Flowers are blooming and the songbirds are nesting in my garden. I watch them from the window of my craft room, and they inspired this ‘Birds of a Feather’ card.

A 1 Maja 9

There are several layers of Maja Design’s  Vintage Spring Basics paper collection that have been distressed and stitched together. The floral details are fussy cut from both the 12 x 12 and 6 x 6 collections.

A 1 Maja 2

A cheery bouquet of Prima flowers and paper cherry blossoms adorn the front of the card, along with die cut leaves and blossom flourishes. A bit of cheesecloth adds a soft touch.

A 1 maja 8

A tiny bird’s nest peeks out from the corner of the bouquet. The photo below captures additional fussy cutting from the 6 x 6 paper collection.

A 1 Maja 3

The sentiment is stamped using archival ink. The finishing touch is a natural twine bow.

Hello Sweeties

Today I’m up on Maja Design blog with a spring set of cards

Spring Cards by Pascale B.

Those cards are really simple to make. The difficult part is to chose some beautiful papers from Maja Design.

Then I die-cut a background in an assorted paper as well as some leaves in different green papers.

I added a flower or more …
