While the winter doesn’t want to leave my place, I’m looking through the papers and searching for those that coordinate well with some of the photos taken past summer.

Guess what collection I mean? Yes, quite right, Vintage Summer Basics

I used acrylic Brag Bag to create mini album, and you know it is quite ease to prepare the background using your papers and then just add details using your leftovers.

For the cover I cut scalloped border and cut a frame using my Big Shot machine

I’ve made some tags too, and what I like about the acrylic is that you can still see the back side papers as well

Hi, this is Tomoko! This would be my second week at Maja Design. I hope you liked my previous project! Today I am showing you a mini album made with Maja Design’s “Walking in the Forest” .IMG_0271

This is how the inside of the album looks like.IMG_0277And you can see I have used one of the paper designs to make this cute mini envelope!! You can see some tips below.IMG_0281IMG_0286IMG_0288IMG_0293

Here are some tips that I am going to show you how I made my envelope close up.

1) First you need is Maja Design’s paper, “Die Cut Sheet” from the Walking in the Forest collection. Cut out the envelop design and build it up.

Then what you do is cut paper like I did below to make a belt for the envelop. After making the belt, you glue it on in the center of the envelop lid and glue paper that is cut along the design of the lid.IMG_02582) Curl thin strip of paper to make what is going to hold you belt so the envelop will close up.IMG_02643) Glue 2 on to your envelope.IMG_0266Then you are finished!IMG_0267

Here are the Maja Design supplies that I used for this mini album:

Walk in the Forest Collection

Paper: Autumn in the Air, Flannel Shirt, Fresh Air, Jeans, Knitted Sweater, Birdsong, When leaves are…, Last Flowers, The orchestra of nature, Die Cut Letters, Die Cut Sheet

Others:

Prima (flowers)

I hope you enjoyed my post!! Thank you so much for dropping by this week too!!

Time To Say Goodbye When Leaves Are Falling…

A very good morning to all Maja Design Fans! Welcome to the blog today, it’s Maja here to share the last Guest Design post.

For this post I chose to focus on the beautiful autumn collection “Walking in the Forest”. And since it’s my last opportunity to share projects with you on the Maja Design blog, I took it to the full, so get ready for another lengthy post 😉

The “Walking in the Forest” papers include probably most beautiful autumn designs I’ve ever seen. Delicate, muted colours and perfectly selected patterns make this collection a real treat for preserving your autumn memories. Some time ago I started a little private project: a house for every season of the year. But I was still missing the autumn house, as I didn’t find papers to my taste. Yet here they are! And the house was made in a couple of hours!

mddomFor the base I used a ready made cardboard house by Maya Road (those Maja girls are really talented, don’t you think? 😉 ) and wrapped it in beautiful designs of Mountain Ash and Autumn in the Air sheets. I covered cardboard elements with Distress Crackle Paints and added a little doorbell.

mddom1One side of the house is decorated with some vine twig and paper leaves. The roof tiling is made with a border punch:

mddom2The back wall features the beautiful bird image I cut out from the Die cut sheet and decorated with leaves and cardstock iron fence:

mddom3But that’s not all! You can take the roof off to reveal a hidden secret:

mddom4I made a very simple accordion album, cutting a piece off the Maple sheet and folding it into four parts. Then I decorated each panel with photos, die cuts from the Die cut sheet and signature strips – I love those! Here’s the front side:

mddom5…and here’s the other side with some journaling too:

mddom6And so finally I have a perfect autumn house to keep our autumn photos.

Supplies:

Papers: Mountain Ash, Autumn in the Air, Autumn in the Air-bs, The colors of fall, The colors of fall-bs, Maple, Maple-bs, Die cut sheet, Die cut letters. Bungalow House and Chipboards: Maya Road, Vine twig: Petaloo, Distress Crackle Paint: Ranger, Leaves: Prima, Border punch: Fiskars, Metal charms and guipure ribbon: from my stash.

Another thing that’s always associated with the autumn season is school (at least for those concerned). This year our younger son started his school education, a year earlier than obligatory. He’s the smallest guy in the whole school! I wanted to keep this cute proud smile in a special way – and again the “Walking in the Forest” papers turned out perfect for the task:

mdlittleThe Last flowers sheet made a perfect background, it looks like a page from a school notebook composed into a frame! I added a piece of the Fresh Air paper, border-punched to look like a page torn off a notebook and used a piece of the Die cut letters sheet as a background panel too!

mdlittle1Then I made my title, using tags and die cut letters and arranged them so that they look as if a beginner put the letters together to make words:

mdlittle3Then I tucked some leaves here and there to remind of autumn, and added some chipboard school tools, inked and covered with Glossy Accents, for decoration:

mdlittle2…and the image of an owl as a symbol for knowledge:

mdlittle4I think those papers made a perfect school page!

Supplies:

Papers: Last flowers, Fresh Air, Fresh Air-bs, Die Cut sheet, Die cut letters, Chipboard: Scrapiniec, Distress inks and Glossy Accents: Ranger, Border punch: EK Success, Eylets and linen string: from my stash.

But of course, as with any Maja Design collection, you don’t have to limist yourselves to the theme of the papers only. The colours and patterns of the “Walking in the Forest” collection are perfect for any boy page!

mdsweetI used the gorgeous Jeans sheet and combined it with Flannel shirt to make a really nice boy background. I used a dinner plate to cut out a circle, then distressed its edges and machine sewed for a nice central piece. And then I broke the “masculinity” with guipure ribbon:

mdsweet1I included the insect image and beautiful paisley border from a signature strip into the flowers cluster:

mdsweet2And then I made my title with die cut letters and a Prima bulb:

mdsweet3

Supplies:

Papers: Jeans, Flannel shirt, The colors of fall-bs, Die cut letters. Flowers, resin pieces and bulb: Prima, Guipure ribbon and crystal twig: from my stash.

But the colours and patterns don’t mean you can’t use them for non-masculine themes. How about a romantic notebook full of butterflies?

mdmot0I used the beautiful chevron pattern of the Knitted sweater-bs paper and combined it with butterfly images of the tag and signature strip. I covered the image with Crackle Accents to make it look even more shabby, and machine sewed the strips for a more interesting look:

mdmot2I also hung a metal butterfly charm on the wire for decoration:

mdmot1There are also a lot of butterflies inside: I stamped an Impression Obsession image and coloured it with Distress inks – the Maja Design papers are sturdy enough not to curl when contacted with water!

mdmot3The last butterfly is ready to fly off the back cover:

mdmot4Neither autumn nor masculine – all the romanticism of the papers!

Supplies:

Papers: Knitted sweater-bs, Birch-bs, Die cut sheet. Stamps: Impression Obsession, Chipboard: Scrapiniec, Tissue tape, Distress inks adn Crackle Accents: Ranger, Wire and BIA: Zutter, Brad, ribbon and metal charm: from my stash.

And that is finally it! I am so happy and honoured to have been given the chance of sharing my creations here, with you! And so I’d like to say a big

mdthankwhich is Polish for “Thank you” – to Jenny and all Maja Design Ladies for the invitation and such a nice welcome, and to you, Maja Design Fans, for visiting here! It was the most pleasant time I had here, and I hope to see you some other time! I wish you all great ideas and plenty of time to realise your creative passion.

Good bye!
